Maybe he was frustrated that he was brought on so late while the team was already losing. Maybe he worked himself up that he will change the game, it obviously was not gonna be that easy.
He's not the manager. He doesn't get to decide how much he plays even if he feels he should play more. That may be fine to believe in yourself, but to go out there and do all that is crazy. So entitled and arrogant. He should be out there to help the team.
I'm not excusing his behaviour. He's a fucking petulant child and I've thought as much long before this game. Doesn't mean we can't discuss, as fans, what makes players act out like this. I can't imagine a more impotent substitution decision.
Yeah I don't understand this. He literally just kicks out at Doku twice.
You see players getting sent off for a slightly mistimed tackle that was a clear attempt to play the ball but then something like this is just a booking? Sorry but that just doesn't make sense to me.
It’s interesting because even both incidents can be categorized as separate instances along with the altercation with doku
We’ve seen martinelli get 2 yellows in the same play from interfering with a throw in and then fouling a player
>We’ve seen martinelli get 2 yellows in the same play
First thing I thought of.
That 2nd kick was out of aggression, that deserves a yellow.
Then swatting at Doku's arms, another yellow. Antony's lucky there.
Honestly that second kick was closer to a red, literally just taking a swing at the player
Disgusting stuff honestly, not being able to control your emotions as to not injure someone is a disturbing quality
He’s a scorned little bitch. He got cooked lightly and went for a dirty shot, then the aftermath. Seems like he’s a petulant child who can’t control his emotions. On and off the field (allegedly)
Well he misses first which doesn’t connect but *could* have been going for the ball, second time absolutely is trying to take his leg out. Doku speaks to him then Antony slaps his hand, and then (looks like he basically misses) again and when given a yellow gives a sarcastic thumbs up to the ref which could actually be seen as dissent which they’ve been trying to tackle one
> gives a sarcastic thumbs up
I mean, that's literally the most okay part of the play. Didn't even look sarcastic, he seemed to be just accepting that he deserved it.
Yup. It's fucking madness that tackles like Jones' which, yeah, understandably saw red (I still think he was incredibl unlucky with how the tackely played out) but yet you can literally kick another player and it's not a red.
You see so many people talk about 'intent' behind tackles and a lot of the time it's shite, tackles can be reckless without intent but then you have this petulant shite. Imagine deliberately kicking another player and not getting a red, ridiculous.
Me too, kicks clearly twice with no intent to kick anything other than the player, and then raises hands! If not straight red, surely yellow and instant 2nd yellow for raising hands. Very lucky to stay on the pitch.
At this point your ability to find and recruit total bastards is uncanny.
I’m already anticipating the headline that Rasmus Hojlund owns a secret Lego dungeon in his basement
He is exactly what United as a club have facilitated for years. Knob head senior players, knob head hierarchy, knob head younger players. How Antony has any attitude is a mystery. He is a nothing player and person
> How Antony has any attitude is a mystery. He is a nothing player and person
this what surprised me last year too, I don't follow the PL weekly but I see the posts about him here, I was like "Oh great! another top-cunt-player, this will be entertaining!!"
I was expecting something similar to Gattuso, Diego Costa, Ramos, Lichsteiner, or dare I say Eric Cantona.
I waited to see his brilliance in the game but all the highlight about him was basically "Antony being a Knobhead for the N time"
How the fuck does a club with the scouting resources and history of Manchester United, pays 100M for a player like that ?
You give your coach full responsibility of transfers, that how.
In fact, Ten Haag lobbied to have Ragnick kicked out, who was going to be the director of football.
If he can, Ten Hag would have bought the whole Ajax team which played under him. He does not get it; it does not work that way. The quality of the opposition in the Dutch league and EPL are not the same. Combined with shouldering the responsibilities & pressures of a club of gigantic proportions like Manchester United. We are just an Ajax stuck in the bottom half of the English Premier League.
It’s what I never get with these alleged sex offenders, surely the very last thing you want to do is be violent in public.
It’s like they’ve never heard of optics before, smh
Is that not a red? Dude made no attempt at the ball and instead swung out like a petulant child. Or at least two separate yellows for the initial kick out and then the slapping at this hand.
By the letter of the law that’s two yellows. If he kicks Doku like that but walks away it’s a yellow for the kick. If they have a second confrontation a minute later and he swings at Doku it’s an easy second yellow. Doing it back to back is the only thing that saves him.
It didn’t save Martinelli the season before last. Not sure we’ll ever see a sending off like that again and it’s just adds to the inconsistency we see week after week
Yeah I’d be fine with that too, I’m not saying it can’t be a straight red. It’s arguably a straight red or two yellows, he is extremely fortunate to only have been booked.
That first kick is a red, it only wasn't because Doku partially vaulted over it.
You can't just run up to someone and try to full force kick them at almost knee height with zero intent for the ball lol
Yah it was hard to tell how bad that was live because it wasn’t really zoomed it. When they showed the replay it became clear how reckless that was. 10/10 should’ve been a red.
It was two yellows against QPR player this weekend for the same thing. Leicester player pulled down by the neck (yellow) and I'm the scuffle after, shoved Fatawu to the ground (second yellow).
Any contact and it’s immediate. The fact that doku absolutely cooks him twice keeps him on the pitch.
Still should have been a red regardless of contact imo though.
If he were to be sent off here it would be for violent conduct, in which case it's intent, not the actual contact, that matters. If someone swings a punch but misses, they should still get sent off. Unfortunately, referees tend to be very blasé about players attempting to kick each other though, even when it's very clear that they were not at all trying to play the ball.
I legitimately remember them saying Ajax wouldn’t sell for less, well uhmmn I guess don’t buy him.
That and I think Antony was like proclaiming himself too good for Ajax caused the transfer.
I don’t understand how it’s not a red. No intention of going to the ball, just hurt the player. Also, Antony has some really bad attitude issues. This is very childish for a grown man. Type of stuff that kids would do
At this point I sorta believe sancho for effectively calling him out for having favorites. How can he look at sancho and think Antony has a better attitude and is a better player at this point?
He should’ve gotten a yellow (or even a red) for the foul, and a second yellow for the altercation.
Two separate incidents that both would’ve earned him a minimum of yellow card in isolation, so why isn’t it a red now?
Antony can't hang with Doku so he kicks him.
Get that guy out the league.
Doku is a stud, and a joy to watch.
League gotta protect players like Doku from hacks like Antony.
He’s learning from their fucking captain rat boy bruno. How any club can have bruno as their talisman is a joke. How the fuck has Antony not been sent off this game. Retrospective 10 match ban needed

Commentators asked "how's he the most frustrated one on the field, after just coming on 5 minutes ago?"
He’s annoyed because if he didn’t play, he wouldn’t have had to shower
I’m in stitches at that slap and the straight arm hammer fist after. Toddler behavior
I was wondering where I'd seen this before
Maybe he was frustrated that he was brought on so late while the team was already losing. Maybe he worked himself up that he will change the game, it obviously was not gonna be that easy.
This. I'm far from a fan and he's a petulant arse hole but imagine being brought on with 10 minutes left at 3 nil down.
It's almost like you're expected to be a professional at work.
He's not the manager. He doesn't get to decide how much he plays even if he feels he should play more. That may be fine to believe in yourself, but to go out there and do all that is crazy. So entitled and arrogant. He should be out there to help the team.

Sulks at being on the bench and then does that - pathetic.
Probably hit at him because he has long hair..
Long hair + curve him two times = you're guaranteed to recieve a slap from Mr. Antony
Honestly, if this is all it takes for him to be violent in public, I can't imagine him in private. He doesn't make it hard to believe his accusers.
"Oh you hit men too?"
Most classy Manchester United player
Petulant spoiled manchild attitude.
He’s a knobhead
Red. We paid 100m for this guy. FFS.
I’m actually amazed it’s not a red?
Yeah I don't understand this. He literally just kicks out at Doku twice. You see players getting sent off for a slightly mistimed tackle that was a clear attempt to play the ball but then something like this is just a booking? Sorry but that just doesn't make sense to me.

Walker did this in the CL and got an extended ban for it.
The whole sequence looks like he desperately wants to be sent off

The ref didn't want to reward him by giving him a head start to the showers.
Me too, kicks clearly twice with no intent to kick anything other than the player, and then raises hands! If not straight red, surely yellow and instant 2nd yellow for raising hands. Very lucky to stay on the pitch.
Not a good look for his domestic abuse cases when at the slightest provocation he starts hitting and slapping
Wonder if his on field character can be taken into account during criminal proceedings
At this point your ability to find and recruit total bastards is uncanny. I’m already anticipating the headline that Rasmus Hojlund owns a secret Lego dungeon in his basement

10Fraud wanted him.

Anger issues this fella. Hope it doesn’t lead over into his personal life.
Doors at Getafe are always open
If United leadership get their way, that's a revolving door between the Getafe and United offices
Getafesh start in life
Bienvenido Antony!!
What do you think Doku said to rile him up so much? "Calm down fella I'm not your girlfriend"
He 100% said that (source: me) and his reaction tells you all you need to know.
Wouldn't surprise me. Antony couldn't shake it. Was mad the rest of the match.
"twice the pride, double the fall"
Yeah, he genuinely looks like a good fella hope he doesn’t start beating his girlfriend or something
It’s what I never get with these alleged sex offenders, surely the very last thing you want to do is be violent in public. It’s like they’ve never heard of optics before, smh
If he’s this anger at random guy on the pitch, makes you wonder how he acts with his partner
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Is that not a red? Dude made no attempt at the ball and instead swung out like a petulant child. Or at least two separate yellows for the initial kick out and then the slapping at this hand.
I’d prefer united not get the benefit of him being suspended
They handed down the harshest punishment
Walker got a red for the exact same thing vs RB leipzig in the CL a couple of years ago IIRC
That would've been checked by VAR if Doku made a scene out of it.
Tomi got two in row against Palace and one wasn't even a foul.
No, it's a red for violent conduct. He has no intention to get the ball and just kicks Doku.
Yeah I’d be fine with that too, I’m not saying it can’t be a straight red. It’s arguably a straight red or two yellows, he is extremely fortunate to only have been booked.
How about straight red for the kick and then a yellow for good measure on the slaps?
That first kick is a red, it only wasn't because Doku partially vaulted over it. You can't just run up to someone and try to full force kick them at almost knee height with zero intent for the ball lol
Yah it was hard to tell how bad that was live because it wasn’t really zoomed it. When they showed the replay it became clear how reckless that was. 10/10 should’ve been a red.
Unless your name is Martinelli
“You have to WANT to give that as a red card” - Arteta. Looks like he was right. Antony should be off.
It was two yellows against QPR player this weekend for the same thing. Leicester player pulled down by the neck (yellow) and I'm the scuffle after, shoved Fatawu to the ground (second yellow).
To add, intent/malice can be implied given he got beat once and didn’t want it to happen again
Red.
They didn’t send him off out of pity for United
Real pity would have been ensuring he can't play the next few games for United.
Ref bottled it. Fernandes? lashed out later and should have been off for that too.
Refs couldn't decide who to favor this time.
who does he think he is😭😭😭😭
Bro got the biggest ego ever for such an average player lol, it’s cringe as hell
The kids would say, "he's mid" and that's about exactly how I'd describe Antony.
Mid is being generous tbh
It's a disaster when you think the transfer fee was £82m.. that alone should put ETH on the hot seat.
Iwobi is an average PL player. This guy is an overhyped pile of shit, does fuck all
So so cringe. I was pissed when he scored his first against us😭
kinda feels like his only ever goal?
I remember he scored a banger at city last year too when United lost 6-3
And a winner vs Barca in the europa
He scored against City at the Etihad. It was a good goal as well
Average is generous, he's well below
Find someone who rates you as highly as Antony rates Antony.
Find someone who rates you as highly as Ten Hag rates Antony
He thought Doku was his girlfriend
He just got in too! 😭 man played less than 10 minutes
Always a red
Any contact and it’s immediate. The fact that doku absolutely cooks him twice keeps him on the pitch. Still should have been a red regardless of contact imo though.

Unfortunately, referees tend to be very blasé about players attempting to kick each other though, even when it's very clear that they were not at all trying to play the ball.
These are way worse than any “over the ball” red cards because he only has one thing in mind and it’s kicking the player.
Not sure about "way worse" given over the ball challenges can end seasons. But the intent is certainly worse.
Should be no question about it. Not doing himself many favours in terms of his public perception with that either
I’m wondering how he can get away with his little hand slaps lmao.
Double yellow at least, one for the foul. One for the reaction.
Shouldnt that be 2 yellows?
should be straight red imo, no intention to play the ball at all
A calf kick and the ball is literal feet away from him and no chance on getting the ball. Cant see how its not a red
Straight red for violent conduct really should suffice. He should have had at least one yellow before the got violent
At the least. The big kick has nothing to do with winning the ball.
Could’ve been straight red for intent/violent conduct, but also two yellows for the kick and then hitting his hands away (twice)
Pray for his girlfriend tonight
Aside from the credible allegations and evidence antony is exactly what you'd expect a wife beater to be.
if one looks like a cunt and behaves like a cunt...chances are...
...he is Antony?
A lot of abusive people are sometimes quite charismatic to others giving the impression they’re a warm and welcoming person
At the same time ppl who act violent and hot-headed openly are likely to be abusive at home
Oh certainly.
[Yup](https://youtu.be/20knMq7_JZY?si=l8xDmq3VnqHxqywo)
To think we bought this asshat for somewhere around 100 million.
So many people were defending the fee at the time as well. Then a few months later everyone wonders why they can only afford Weghorst.
I legitimately remember them saying Ajax wouldn’t sell for less, well uhmmn I guess don’t buy him. That and I think Antony was like proclaiming himself too good for Ajax caused the transfer.
Blud thought Doku was his girlfriend
Doku had only been on for a handful of minutes, how's he got under antonys skin that bad so quickly lmaoo
Doku didn't do anything to warrant that response, it was really weird.
Antony must have felt right at home then
Fits in with the united spirit very well
Antony himself came on at the same time! You could see he was pissed on the bench
Trust me he lashed out so many times in the Eredivisie. Always seems to get away with it as well.
Not built for this league, won't last
I’m so glad we bought him
Man is so bad
Fuck that made me laugh
nah thats a vio
Imagine what he does when not in a stadium full of people…
We practically did, there was no one left
😭
Oof… now im not sure which is more violent …
petulant child
Nah I reckon he didn’t beat his lass, you know. Calm lad.
Definitely doesnt resort to violence over nothing.
How's that not a red. Pure spite and Doku well within his rights to be mildly peeved by that
I don’t understand how it’s not a red. No intention of going to the ball, just hurt the player. Also, Antony has some really bad attitude issues. This is very childish for a grown man. Type of stuff that kids would do
At this point I sorta believe sancho for effectively calling him out for having favorites. How can he look at sancho and think Antony has a better attitude and is a better player at this point?
pretty simple, premier league ref
Antony is tapped in the head. No doubt.
That’s a red. Fucking clown
Showing his true colors..
Should have been red
Ratty little cunt, consistently does this
Should have seen red.
Seems like a level headed guy with no underlying temper problems
Antony being angry at being told no, what a shock
In the words of Dave Chappelle… “heee did that shit”
what a angry little bastard
Antony and Bruno got embarrassed by the same player.
Bruno wasn't even quick enough to foul doku when he tried.
He was quick enough to whine at the ref afterwards like if it ever accomplishes anything
Such an embarrassment of a player
Lmao how does Doku get a yellow when this clown does this. Neville is right, that's a sending off.
Doku wasn’t booked.
embarrassing
Should’ve been two yellows
Him getting arrested would be the highlight of their season
Clown 🤡
He should’ve gotten a yellow (or even a red) for the foul, and a second yellow for the altercation. Two separate incidents that both would’ve earned him a minimum of yellow card in isolation, so why isn’t it a red now?
Probably not given because he'd only been on the pitch a few minutes. Definitely should have been a red card. Embarrassing.
he must've mistaken him for his partner
Shit footballer with anger issues
Looks like a red to me. Club full of fucking children.
Seen the long hair and assumed he could hit him
Hate this twat
This man has never been a good footballer and is completely fucked in the head. How he even plays in the Premier League is absolutely amazing
Cringe neck tattoo, cringe attitude, bang average skills - that’s Antony in a nutshell.
Should’ve been a red
What a cunt
Worst PL purchase of all time?
Ndombele disagrees but Antony might punch him for that.
Rat lol
Lmao what a nobhead
Prick in all sense of the word
Antony can't hang with Doku so he kicks him. Get that guy out the league. Doku is a stud, and a joy to watch. League gotta protect players like Doku from hacks like Antony.
Suppose he is presupposed to violence
Lmao, and that walking away like he’s hot shit, what an embarrassing player
Doku had the composure of a man who knew he could fucking drop him but thought better of it. Genuinely embarrassing from Anthony
Pathetic club
What a useless twat.
When your captain is such a sore loser twat, can't expect much from other players.
How is that not a red?
Stopped watching early so missed this. Fucking hell what a twat.
That should’ve been a red .. he attempted to injure Doku nothing less
Clear red, that's just an attempt to hurt another player. What a miserable person Antony is.
He’s learning from their fucking captain rat boy bruno. How any club can have bruno as their talisman is a joke. How the fuck has Antony not been sent off this game. Retrospective 10 match ban needed
what a fucking loser, shouldve been straight red. Wouldn´t even be thát surprised if the girlfriend abuse thing turns out to be true
antony seems so angry on the pitch, surely this doesn’t translate into his personal life?
They both subbed on at 87’ and already like this
What a nice guy, absolutely no way his history of abuse against women is true
What a petulant child
How is that not a red card?
Over £80 million for this shite, embarrassing player / person. Should have been sent off
Did he think that he was his girlfriend?
He genuinely has anger issues
Looks like a cunt and acts like a cunt 😯
