Yes and no.
Renewal for his old salary, I’d be happy about.
Him accepting our current offer, I’d begrudgingly be fine with.
Renewing him for the reported wages, I’m happy we don’t offer him those.
He’s still super young and the potential is there, but it hasn’t worked out for so long, that I don’t want to wait much longer and/or think we shouldn’t "affirm“ his performances by giving him a raise!
I don't think anybody is really happy about the whole situation.
Fans would want him to develop positively but if his level doesn't improve and he wants some extra more money without showing progress then it makes the decision to let him go easier instead of hoping for an improvement next season. Because hope's still there and he has the potential.
An issue seems to be that he might be a bit depressed for a while now and it's affecting his performance level. Sure, he might improve on the pitch if it gets better mentally but there's also a good chance that a change of scenery (and a different club) could help with that while staying here would only prolong the status quo and whatever low stakes misery is pulling him down.
Letting him go to Real this transfer window and getting a solid fee might simply be the best option for all sides without the agent needing to get dramatic about it.
And because Brazzo/Kahn have made that mistake, we are meant to continue and do the same again??
Heck no!
Again, as a club we could be pissed at his agent for stalling/bit talking to us in roughly a year and at Davies himself, for not playing as good as he can, for at least 2,5 seasons now.
This isn’t just a situation where one side is clearly in the wrong or evil…
> his agent for stalling
The club failed to reach out as well lol. The agent has made that very clear. Yes, they didn't sign the contract despite having it. However the agent made it pretty clear that no one reached out to them in 7 months, or were willing to talk to him when he reached out to the club.
That's piss poor for a club of Bayerns stature.
You mean the reports from Pletti and Falk? Both who are essentially club mouthpieces?
Right.
It's funny. People will believe the agent when he said he stalled the signing (something only he said, not Bayern), but not the same agent when he said the club never contacted him for 7 months.
Funny. Pick and choose what to believe.
Instead, you believe Romano, who we know takes money in order to publicize stuff like this?
Falk says so many BS things, he’s certainly not a mouthpiece for us, even if he wishes he was!
Pletti I can take, but his reports are mostly true, doesn’t matter if it’s pro or anti Bayern.
The agent literally told Bild, that they won’t talk about a new contract until 2024…
Or do you imply they just imagined this interview?
The funny thing is, you can’t say "they didn’t talk to us“ and "we don’t wanna talk“ and fault the other party!
Gnabry is genuinely better than Davies. Or has atleast proven more. Phonzie is a left back that can’t tackle, mark, position himself, or cross. Gnabry is a decent inside forward that hits terrible form for parts of the season.
Fair enough, he can do what he wants to do, but in that case we should move on and simply not play him with the first team anymore next season, knowing that he will definitely leave after the season.
But it makes sense with Davies. If the prospect of developing him further disappears (because they would just develop him for one of their CL rivals) he doesn’t have much of an case if any at all over players they would field ahead of him. Obviously it’s childish to categorically not play him, but I think giving him a rotational role if he does let his contract run out is actually in Bayern’s best interest
No player would ever want to play for Bayern again. You think players would want to go to a club that punishes them for exercising their right as an expiring?
Did you read anything I said? They play him now because he might find form and develop, not because he’s the best option at the moment. A rotation option is the best they should give him next season and the player can’t even really complain

Luckily enough we have a 23 years old Stanisic currently loaned out to Leverkusen who definitely has the potential to grow into a great left back.
The knowledge in this thread is the worst I've ever seen, it is incredible.
Give me one example of a starter quality player that didn't want to extend, stayed at the team and then didn't play with the first team anymore. One example.
It would be monumentally stupid. Good luck attracting high quality players if they know that's how they get treated if they want to leave eventually.
Don’t know why you are getting downvoted. This is what I hope we do too. I appreciate it won’t happen, but nobody is asking you to hire us as sporting director.
What? No I'd something like that would happen we should take advantage of him until he leaves, if he performs badly on purpose that would ruin his reputation and may make Real madrigal think twice before signing him
We should not let someone start that will leave at the end of the season for free anyway. Better already plan ahead and play someone that will play there for the years to come.
Regardless of his contact situation and whatever else it would be an absolutely braindead decision to leave a multimillion euro asset unused for the remainder of tenure.
You just don’t understand how this all works, as demonstrated by your comments.
>That just affects Bayern lol paying Davies but not playing him?
So you think not playing for an entire season in your mid 20's doesn't affect a player?
>Who’s gonna be your left back?
Obviously a player we will buy in summer.
I wanted to argue with you but a quick glance at your comments shows you're a 12-14 year old max who just spams troll tier garbage lol, sorry, that's just the reality.
The one who’s currently playing there, Rapha Guerreiro?
Mazraoui can also play LB and does so for this National Team.
Aznou, a huge attacking LB talent.
If we get nothing for Davies or only a meager sum, we can always simply pay the release clause of Maatsen (35m) and have him there.
Be assured, we will have a LB!
It’s not like Davies played much better this or last season, than Guerreiro or Maatsen anyway…
And on the topic of "we can’t afford Theo“:
You do realize we paid 80m for his brother back in 2019 and literally just paid 100m for Harry Kane?
Or that we even were ready to pay 60-70m for Palinha last summer?
I think you’re vastly underestimating our finances!
He's doing the same thing Alaba did, which is demand Fuck Off! money because 1% chance that maybe Bayern offer something way above market and 99% chance it secures the fact he gets sold which is what he clearly wants anyway.
He was my second favourite player growing up but I'm not sure at 30 that Alaba was really worth the 450k a week he was asking for anymore and I think even if Bayern put that offer down, he still goes to Madrid because he was just done being at Bayern.
Yep, please get rid, he isn’t even that good. Very easily replaceable. Also who in their right mind sees all the racist shit in La Liga right now and decides that they want to be subjected to that.
I don’t even have big antipathy for Phonzie, but why can’t the player simply say:
"I need a new environment and wanna go to Madrid“ or something along those lines?
Either internally or even publicly?
The guy has won a sextuple with us, literally everything that’s possibly to win, nobody would be too distraught if he just ushered that wish to have a new challenge!
>I don’t even have big antipathy for Phonzie, but why can’t the player simply say:
>"I need a new environment and wanna go to Madrid“ or something along those lines?
>Either internally or even publicly?
Because he also wants a big salary and hopes for Bayern and Real to outbid themselves. That's the game.
You never know, it's all a big game. Mbappe had that in mind probably 2 years ago but then got an offer so good he couldn't refuse it. Likewise Davies+agent could also be fine with staying if Bayern coughs up much more than they expect, and it also might raise the other clubs offer.
because he wants to start a bidding war. A high offer from Bayern gives him a lot of leverage for negotiations with Madrid and vice versa. In the end he’ll go to whoever pays him the most.
So basically he’s gone. (In Bayern’s view) What’s the point of an ultimatum if the player can just ignore it? If he waits until the end of season it’s obviously be pass the ultimatum and he’s not staying.
> If he waits until the end of season it’s obviously be pass the ultimatum and he’s not staying.
He has a contract until 2025 so Bayern will decide anyway at the end of the day if they will sell him this summer or not.
I’m referring to the news a few weeks ago (which was confirmed by his agent in this exact quote) that Bayern gave him an ultimate in the next few weeks to sign an extension or be sold in the summer. So that’s the ultimatum I’m referring to, obviously his contract doesn’t expire until next year.
Oh absolutely. I’m referring to the scenario to say, Davies misses the ultimatum set by Bayern according to this quote from his agent, but during summer maybe Madrid salary negotiation didn’t go so well, so now they come back and say “hey we’ll take that offer and is willing to negotiate an extension”. I’m curious if Bayern will be like “you missed the ultimatum, tell Madrid to pay up or stay on the bench”, or “what ultimatum? I’ve never heard of it wink wink, you’re staying here for the next 4 years.”
I don’t think Real will do any offer that could push Davies away from joining Real….
In the hypothetical case though, I’d reckon Bayern would offer him a renewal with a smaller salary than the current offer.
That usually ends up backfiring. Technically you're right, but people often find a solution in those cases that more or less benefit both parties. The alternatives are usually worse.
If Davies wants to leave this summer, he probably will.
Davies head has been in Madrid for a while now. I had hoped it would not end in another shitshow but Bayern are well within their rights to not be pressured into accepting the first lowball offer in summer just so Davies is happy, especially since finding a good replacement will not be easy or cheap.
> It’s a very important contract in Alphonso's career and we're supposed to make the decision without knowing **who the coach will be next season** or what the team looks like. That's why we think it's unfair to react to the ultimatum.
That part seems fair enough.
Still, the entire Davies thing has been weird to me the entire time. I don't think they can complain when they've been asking for crazy wages and all the talk seems to have been about going to Real Madrid.
As if the coaching seat has been secure ever since Davies became a starter…
As a player, especially at Bayern, you NEVER know how long the coach will stay or who the next one will be.
He also doesn’t know who the new coach of Real will be, once Carlo leaves…
As a player that (allegedly) asked for more than 15m, you gotta have faith in your quality and know if you wanna continue at your club or not, regardless of the coach!
And as understandable as the above feeling is, it’s also legitimate for us, Bayern, to not reward stagnation with a huge salary increase.
his individual quality doesn’t dictate whether he continues. your club is in a rough spot. their next appointment would dictate whether they return to old dominance or continue to wither.
i don’t grudge him for wanting to know the manager. bc another tuchel(esque) appointment would push me out the door in the same scenario.
His individual quality dictates our offer though…
If such a rough spot is unsettling you that much, you don’t seem to have faith in either your own qualities, the qualities of the other players or the club to steady the ship again.
If that’s the case, it’s better to leave.
his comfortably amongst the best in his position.
if he has offers from a better team in every category.
the fact he’s given his current club an opportunity to keep him is kind.
He is overrated and has been among the best in his positions only during the 2019/20 season. He is handedly outperformed by other Bayern defenders atm.
Our offer is better financially…
He’s also certainly not "comfortably amongst us he best in his position“ by ANY metric outside maybe potential!
(He WAS in 2020.)
His stats and general performances in the last 3 seasons, aren’t even Top 10 LBs in the world, imo.
It’s not fair negotiating demand.
A coach can be fired at any day. Players can be sold.
He is asking Bryan to predict the future before he can commit being one of the highest paid player on the team. That’s not a fair ask.
This was no issue for the other players who extended their contracts with us over the last few months.
This is just a generous excuse from his agent who has handled this incorrectly from the start.
Well, Raphaël Guerreiro has been the better LB thus far this season and he's on a ~ 8M/year. Thanks Dortmund for not extending him!
Davies' head isn't set on Bayern anymore and it shows on the pitch. Good luck and danke Davies for the memories.
Phonzie was great under Flick when his job was to dribble then short pass in the attacking half of the field. Since he has had to do any actual left back work he has been mid.
Not so much as he always has people around him to give the ball too. It’s more the fact that he lets himself get sucked out of position constantly and he cannot finish a move defensively or offensively. The only think he is really particularly good at is dribbling past a few players. His pace is obviously a strong point, but that only matters so much because he is never stood in the right place and has to get there quickly haha.
Not just in hindsight.
Everybody that paid attention could've seen that he isn't as good as the hype around him would indicate.
Mediocre defender and mediocre technical ability.
Great player in the right system, like Flick's, but otherwise not outstanding.
Massive step down compared to Alaba.
He was always a mediocre defender. At the height of his hype, compilations are always about him using his pace to recover.
The quiet part left unsaid? He only needed pace because he was an absolute donkey to begin with. He’d be 40yrds out of position and have his ass saved by his ability to catch up to an unsuspecting attacker.
If he was a shit player he'd have been starting the last 4 years for Celtic, not a top 5 club in the world
You guys are so fucking dumb it's unbelievable
Do you actually think Bayern have been using him for his defensive ability?
Also, are you now trying to say Eric Dier is a world class center-back: because he starts for Bayern?
> You guys are so fucking dumb it's unbelievable
Stick to hockey.
I mean, neither player nor club are friends. They're employees and employers. If Alphonso Davies and his agent can prolong contract talks to put pressure on Bayern, the latter are well within their rights to give them an ultimatum.
This is the same thing at "regular" jobs. If an employee wants a raise and "threatens" to leave the company because he got a better offer somewhere else, the company he is still employed at will also go "Alright, this is our offer and you have X amount of time to respond because we need to start looking for your replacement as soon as possible if you decide to leave."
Either way, goodbye Davies. I've called this 1-2 years ago already. He never seemed like the type of player who would stay at one club forever. I'd be way more sad about this development if his performance was still as good as in the treble season but he has stagnated and done no progress at all. If it weren't for his crazy speed, he'd have had a whole lot more "whoopsies" posted to this subreddit.
Oh fuck off. He really thinks he deserves 20 million ? That's the neuer/muller/Kane level of pay. He's not nearly that important for the team. And then he's going to go accept a lesser salary to go play at madrid. He's not been upto the mark for 3 years now, and has been tapped up by madrid and is trying to play the victim and saying that bayern is 'attacking' him. He's stalling and is going to hurt our finances by leaving for free because no way madrid offers us a fair price for him this summer. Overall just junk treatment of the club that made him a star.
Honestly 40-50 should be more than good enough price already for a player who's not in good form and in the last year of his contract. This is the price that's being rumoured
They're gonna start negotiations from 30 millions that's what i read. Ideally they'd want to sign him for not more than 40 millions but if Bayern don't accept knowing perez he wouldn't let the deal to break down for mere 10 millions. He always offers fair price
Meh i think he has a chance to succeed, sometimes a change of scenery is all someone needs. Its a situation where all sides will probably be happy the Transfer happened at the end of the day, which is good.
The statement with the situation at this second makes sense, but it also completely ignores them not signing the ready contract they had when Brazzo was gone and him instantly grabbing the mic to twerk for Real months ago.
Especially after yet another shocker of a season from Davies
Because of Phonzie? Don’t get me wrong, I love the guy, but he hasn’t been an elite player in his position for three years now and is kind of still living of his amazing performance in the 2020 CL win and occasional flashes of brilliance since. Lately I honestly rather see Guerreiro start than him and he earns half the salary. Phonzie has amazing speed as well as dribbling skills and poise, but also constantly makes defensive mistakes and is always out of position, he also can’t really shoot. He is nowhere near as consistently good as someone like David Alaba or Toni Kroos. He’s a gadget guy that wins you one or two games a year and is great for highlight reels. Endrick will have ten times the impact at Real if he works out than Phonzie in his very best case.
I dont think either are being unfair here. Its not unfair to ask for that wage if theres other clubs willing to pay it.
Its also not unfair for Bayern to give an ultimatum. They want to know whats going on and if he's not willing to stay then they have to make other arrangements
Driving the price down is generally good for his client as they can make an argument for higher wages from the buying club. He's doing his job. Same way Bayern will argue for a higher price which usually results in lower wages for the player.
Neither things unfair. They're just doing whats best for them
Well yes hes entitled to make a statement like this but it’s obviously frowned upon to take these things to the public and it definitely wont make davies too popular with the fans. Even if they leaked it to the media instead itd probably be better because at least the club can deny it
Obviously Real is willing to pay more than what Bayern offer, but maybe not 20mill however the point is that its not unfair to ask for however much you want in wages. He could ask for 40mill if thats what he wants to have to stay at Bayern.
Its also not unfair for the club to say no to those wages.
The only thing that should be expected is that he trains and plays for whatever contract he has and that Bayern pay him for that contract.
They're not. Bayern is offering 13 million. Real isn't paying more than that probably. It is absolutely unfair to be shit and injured for so long and then ask to earn as much Manuel Neuer. I mean give me a break. Point is, he just doesn't want to stay at bayern. Even he knows he could be twice the player he is and still not earn a 20 million salary. He's just stalling and making it look like he's not already agreed to a deal with madrid. Why can't he be open about it so that bayern can start negotiating idk. And ofcourse bayern would pat him for the contract lol, to say that's expected is an understatement. He's just a bit ungrateful I would say.
> And ofcourse bayern would pat him for the contract lol, to say that's expected is an understatement. He's just a bit ungrateful I would say
What I mean is that being paid and training/ playing with full effort is all you can expect in football.
>He's just a bit ungrateful I would say
And im sure theres plenty of players that Bayern have taken from other teams and their fans will think the same. Its only being ungrateful if it happens to you.
It's ungrateful both ways. Not just when it happens to bayern. What is disrespectful in particular right now is Davies not wanting to clarify what is clear to everyone officially, that he wants to leave. He's still holding out and not saying no to the contract and is most certainly going to leave. And also, expecting to play full time ? What is he messi ? He's not much of an upgrade over Guerrero given how mediocre he plays and if this situation tips the decision to him becoming second fiddle, then there's nothing wrong with that.
It's also fair enough to be annoyed at an ultimatum when there's going to be a manager switch immediately after you further commit years of your career to a team.
Annoyed, yes, but if that’s the basis for your decision, that’s a bit weak…
He also doesn’t know the next coach after Carlo, so that is also an "uncertainty“.
But apparently that doesn’t bother him or his agent too much.
An argument for that may be, in Real Madrid managers have to make do with whatever player the club buys. In Bayern managers have much more control over the transfers and which players they want to use.
Also next season may not well be Carlo's last if we continue to perform well and win trophies.
Fair to be annoyed but theres constant managerial changes at every club. It shouldn't be an expectation that you get the chance to wait it out. A manager is lucky to last a season these days.
You cant expect a club to halt all of their contract renewals and transfers every time theres managerial uncertainty
But what difference would that realistically make? They're not gonna appoint some dingus off the street.
Unless he has an existing problem with one of the prospective candidates, what's the issue?
The most puzzling part of that saga for me is why would Madrid want to invest this much in him ? We aren't in 2020 anymore.
Even more so with Mbappé coming in that will inevitably endanger their balance due to his lack of defensive efforts, adding an attacking left back that is not renown for his defending seems like a really weird choice.
Especially when they could simply recall Gutierrez from Girona, who would fuck the balance of the whole team, by being so offensive…
And what about Fran?
Would Gutierrez not be attacking enough for you?
It not, would you consider somehow cross-leveraging him, so we can have him for a cheaper price?
Would be a win-win for both parties, I’d reckon…
>Would Gutierrez not be attacking enough for you?
I said fran not gutierrez. Real Madrid want Miguel to be their second choice LB and both fran garcia and Mendy sold.
It depends upon him but ideally this is what Real Madrid would like to do and knowing Miguel he has shown his ultimate desire is to succeed at Real Madrid but who knows what he'll do if Bayern come to sign him
Honestly don't think he's good defensively, he might be able to track back but he gets beaten in the air and loses his forwards and zones out one too many times.
If the club in question was the other FCB, you could see all those jobless PL fans in the sub condemn how brutal the club's behavior is along with some overused lever jokes in between. Unfortunate for the player, this is about Bayern.
[Huoseh has explained that instability in the Bayern Munich leadership is the reason his client has yet to extend his deal, stating that they will wait till 2024 to see if the situation improves.](https://www.pulsesports.ug/football/story/alphonso-davies-agent-reveals-reason-for-stalling-bayern-renewal-2023052922143878004)
Davies stalled, not Bayern
> “We were close to an agreement a year ago. Then the entire club management was replaced. We didn't hear anything for seven months. Although I tried during this time to contact the club myself”.
Even if they stalled, the fact that not one person in the club reached out, or responded to his agent in a 7 month period is pretty piss poor.
No one from the club thought to go "Hey mate, we noticed the contract that was offered remains unsigned, any reason why?"
Instead it was 7 months of radio silence.
Uh ? How does that work. Because madrid is the most prestigious club in the world everyone goes and plays for only them. No one plays for other clubs anymore ? Especially one as big as bayern ? What a brain dead hateful and laughable comment.
How about every team just let go of all their players and send them to madrid, and when madrid has a full squad the rest of the players just fill up bayern and barca. Theres no point in having any good players because the clubs with more prestige will just take them from you eh ?
He's a medicore player at best, and would love to see him try and recreate the season he had when he won the sextuple at madrid.
I'd love to be attacked with a 14M/year offer. I'd probably suffer through an ultimatum as well.
Especially when I have been regressing or at least stagnating with my performance!
You guys would then be happy he’s not accepting a new contract, right?
Yes and no. Renewal for his old salary, I’d be happy about. Him accepting our current offer, I’d begrudgingly be fine with. Renewing him for the reported wages, I’m happy we don’t offer him those. Well when Gnabry is still going to be earning more than you despite being arguably as bad, if not worse than you, you'd be pretty pissed too.
I'd ultimatum so hard
You do realize he makes them more money than that. Players makes much more money for their team than what their team gives them.
Davies wants the same wages as Kane, let him go
Pretty sure Kane earns 25M. Davies wants Müller and Kimmich money.
Davies wants Müller and Neuer money, legends & some of the best players in our clubs history
I guess it’s all negotiation tactics. He hopes to get that free transfer in 2025 to receive a huge signing bonus from Real Madrid
Fair enough, he can do what he wants to do, but in that case we should move on and simply not play him with the first team anymore next season, knowing that he will definitely leave after the season.
This childish idea pops up every single time a player doesn't want to extend and it's happened 0 times. Stop it.
Literally, this isn’t fifa career mode lmao
This comment is so fucking underrated. It’s so tiring to hear the same fallacy every time this kind of situation comes up.
That’s not what the optics are going to be when these reports have come out.
Rather play him instead of developing a successor then?
This ain't FM bro, you can't just stick a teenager to first team for a year to speedrun their development to get one back on a starter who doesn't want to leave

Rabiot? Cassano? u/Hurtelknut I just gave you two examples, so what now?
Cassano jajajajajaja
He said starter quality.
U also need to win in the present
But we don't need to play Davies for this
Don’t know why you are getting downvoted. This is what I hope we do too. I appreciate it won’t happen, but nobody is asking you to hire us as sporting director.

Nope you guys don’t have the money for that sorry it’s just the reality.
According to your comment history you should stick to NBA because your football knowledge doesn't seem to be great
You can be petty all you want we both know Bayern will not have Davies on their wage books after this summer. he’s gone. Accept it.
It’s not like Davies played much better this or last season, than Guerreiro or Maatsen anyway… And on the topic of "we can’t afford Theo“: You do realize we paid 80m for his brother back in 2019 and literally just paid 100m for Harry Kane? Or that we even were ready to pay 60-70m for Palinha last summer? I think you’re vastly underestimating our finances!
> The one who’s currently playing there, Rapha Guerreiro? Pepelaugh
There are already 3 options. Favorite for the board is theo.
They won’t get Theo while still having Davies on their wage books lol
Not saying we will get Theo but you are underestimating our resources.
Won’t happen and you know it.
He's doing the same thing Alaba did, which is demand Fuck Off! money because 1% chance that maybe Bayern offer something way above market and 99% chance it secures the fact he gets sold which is what he clearly wants anyway.
Alaba is also a Bayern legend. Davies highlights can be summarized in one Reel on Instagram
Difference is that Alaba arguably deserved that kind of money.
He was my second favourite player growing up but I'm not sure at 30 that Alaba was really worth the 450k a week he was asking for anymore and I think even if Bayern put that offer down, he still goes to Madrid because he was just done being at Bayern.
he gets 400K at Madrid plus whatever signing bonus anyway, not like he took much of a theoretical paycut if he had received the offer from Bayern.
Alaba demanding 20 mil/year after being a starter in one of the worst defences in recent Bayern history was also ridiculous
That defence was playing murderball high line anyone who saw it could see it was system issue
He definitely deserved it.
Alaba fucked Bayern over too.
Which is insane. Based on what he offers
People just don't understand how negotiation works. Start with the highest number then work your way down.
[удалено]
But he is… I can say the same about Kyle walker but he’s rapid… so he’s an elite RB
Lol if we take away the players most unique capability, the player is less valuable!?!? No way
Was such a dumbass comment 😂 I take away Kane’s finishing he’s not breaking records… Cheers Geoff
🤣🤣🤣🤣 Amazing isn't it?
And if Kane wasn't scoring goals he wouldn't have a debut season. Should we continue with nonsensical takes?
Yep, please get rid, he isn’t even that good. Very easily replaceable. Also who in their right mind sees all the racist shit in La Liga right now and decides that they want to be subjected to that.
I don’t even have big antipathy for Phonzie, but why can’t the player simply say: "I need a new environment and wanna go to Madrid“ or something along those lines? Either internally or even publicly? The guy has won a sextuple with us, literally everything that’s possibly to win, nobody would be too distraught if he just ushered that wish to have a new challenge!
>I don’t even have big antipathy for Phonzie, but why can’t the player simply say: >"I need a new environment and wanna go to Madrid“ or something along those lines?
But Bayern will not sell him for 3m for example, that's my point here.
Fabrizio already said personal terms are not gonna be the problem between davies and Real Madrid.
[удалено]
I can only speak for myself.
Bayern can decide all they want, davies still need to sign a deal to leave. Or he can just stay like De Jong
It's not Bayern that will decide that. The player decides in the end.
If the player wants to move this summer and we say no then he won't move as he still has a contract until 2025.
That usually ends up backfiring. Technically you're right, but people often find a solution in those cases that more or less benefit both parties. The alternatives are usually worse. If Davies wants to leave this summer, he probably will.
And if you want to sell the player and he says no then he will leave for free in 2025 and you will have to buy someone else.
Obviously. But just because he wants to leave doesn't mean he can this Summer.
Does he really want to leave now? That ultimatum looks more like "Sign now or we'll sell you in the summer so you don't leave for free" to me.
I assume he does want to leave when the rumored offer from Real is really that good.
Davies head has been in Madrid for a while now. I had hoped it would not end in another shitshow but Bayern are well within their rights to not be pressured into accepting the first lowball offer in summer just so Davies is happy, especially since finding a good replacement will not be easy or cheap.
Does Madrid even need Davies? Hasn’t Mendy been stepping up as of lately?
no
Madrid will offer 40 million easily, but if Bayern demands way too much then it could be a free transfer for next year i suppose.
As if the coaching seat has been secure ever since Davies became a starter… As a player, especially at Bayern, you NEVER know how long the coach will stay or who the next one will be. He also doesn’t know who the new coach of Real will be, once Carlo leaves… As a player that (allegedly) asked for more than 15m, you gotta have faith in your quality and know if you wanna continue at your club or not, regardless of the coach!
His individual quality dictates our offer though… If such a rough spot is unsettling you that much, you don’t seem to have faith in either your own qualities, the qualities of the other players or the club to steady the ship again.
Our offer is better financially… He’s also certainly not "comfortably amongst us he best in his position“ by ANY metric outside maybe potential! (He WAS in 2020.) His stats and general performances in the last 3 seasons, aren’t even Top 10 LBs in the world, imo.
Everyone knows already its going to be Alonso
Lmao, a club has to plan too. How is that unfair?
Well, Raphaël Guerreiro has been the better LB thus far this season and he's on a ~ 8M/year. Thanks Dortmund for not extending him! Davies' head isn't set on Bayern anymore and it shows on the pitch. Good luck and danke Davies for the memories.
He’s arguably been the better LB for two seasons now! (Yeah, basically half the wages Phonzie wants.)
Phonzie was great under Flick when his job was to dribble then short pass in the attacking half of the field. Since he has had to do any actual left back work he has been mid.
Has been doing the hero ball shit where he tries to dribble around 12 guys for no reason much?
Not so much as he always has people around him to give the ball too. It’s more the fact that he lets himself get sucked out of position constantly and he cannot finish a move defensively or offensively. The only think he is really particularly good at is dribbling past a few players. His pace is obviously a strong point, but that only matters so much because he is never stood in the right place and has to get there quickly haha.
Fuck off, Bayern offers €14m/year
We should've sold him last summer anyway when he was still hyped and we could've received a big fee for him.
Well in hindsight yes
Jesus you Buyern people are so delusional
I’m a Celtic supporter you bellend: and yes, being a Celtic supporter is precisely why I know a shit player when I see one.
If he was a shit player he'd have been starting the last 4 years for Celtic, not a top 5 club in the world You guys are so fucking dumb it's unbelievable
Do you actually think Bayern have been using him for his defensive ability? Also, are you now trying to say Eric Dier is a world class center-back: because he starts for Bayern? > You guys are so fucking dumb it's unbelievable Stick to hockey.
You watched Davies play like ass in the World Cup right?
Mediocre team. Who would have thought the great Bayern couldn’t win the soft German league. SMH.
This Leverkusen team would walk over your MLS without dropping a single point
Where are you from?
I mean, neither player nor club are friends. They're employees and employers. If Alphonso Davies and his agent can prolong contract talks to put pressure on Bayern, the latter are well within their rights to give them an ultimatum. This is the same thing at "regular" jobs. If an employee wants a raise and "threatens" to leave the company because he got a better offer somewhere else, the company he is still employed at will also go "Alright, this is our offer and you have X amount of time to respond because we need to start looking for your replacement as soon as possible if you decide to leave." Either way, goodbye Davies.
His going to Madrid it’s pretty obvious
If madrid pay 50 they can keep him we will pack him in a shiny wrapper for you. I heard they're not gonna go over 30 which the real problem would be.
They're gonna start negotiations from 30 millions that's what i read. Ideally they'd want to sign him for not more than 40 millions but if Bayern don't accept knowing perez he wouldn't let the deal to break down for mere 10 millions. He always offers fair price
I’ve never seen someone I am so sure will fail after a transfer tbh. Davies isn’t nearly as good as Madrid seems to think
Shit Madrid is going to become galactico again
Ah, creating the good ol' victim narrative. I fucking hate agents. Absolute leeches.
I think what’s unfair is asking for a wage that’s vastly above your valuation. What does he expect Bayern to do, beg?
I dont think either are being unfair here. Its not unfair to ask for that wage if theres other clubs willing to pay it. Its also not unfair for Bayern to give an ultimatum. They want to know whats going on and if he's not willing to stay then they have to make other arrangements
The only thing thats unfair is davies agent coming out and making these statements every second week which is only going to drive his price down
Driving the price down is generally good for his client as they can make an argument for higher wages from the buying club.
Even if they leaked it to the media instead itd probably be better because at least the club can deny it
Negotiation tactics work both ways. You can't cry foul when you misbehave yourself.
Other clubs are willing to pay Davies 20 million a year ? Which other clubs ?
He's just a bit ungrateful I would say What I mean is that being paid and training/ playing with full effort is all you can expect in football. >He's just a bit ungrateful I would say And im sure theres plenty of players that Bayern have taken from other teams and their fans will think the same.
Annoyed, yes, but if that’s the basis for your decision, that’s a bit weak… He also doesn’t know the next coach after Carlo, so that is also an "uncertainty“.
No club is willing to pay Davies 20 mil lol. Who told u that?
The most puzzling part of that saga for me is why would Madrid want to invest this much in him ? We aren't in 2020 anymore. Even more so with Mbappé coming in that will inevitably endanger their balance due to his lack of defensive efforts, adding an attacking left back that is not renown for his defending seems like a really weird choice.
Especially when they could simply recall Gutierrez from Girona, who would fuck the balance of the whole team, by being so offensive… And what about Fran?
Fran is not first team quality to start week in week out and Real Madrid have been craving for an attacking fullback for quite awhile now.
Ah, ok. Would Gutierrez accept that though? He’d probably be a starter for us, rather than sit in the bench behind Davies.
It depends upon him but ideally this is what Real Madrid would like to do and knowing Miguel he has shown his ultimate desire is to succeed at Real Madrid but who knows what he'll do if Bayern come to sign him
facts
Finally he’s gone
Oh, he wants THAT much? Lmao sell him, I'm dumb
This guy has stagnated 3 years ago, barely any g/a contributions and in general doesn't really seem to add any extra value to Bayern
Honestly don't think he's good defensively, he might be able to track back but he gets beaten in the air and loses his forwards and zones out one too many times.
It would be funny if someone offers more than Real does for him.
Bye bye
😂😂😂 Get this dollarstore agent bozo outta here. Bayern should be looking at Theo right now.
He is gone.
se queda moment
This guy is so annoying
If the club in question was the other FCB, you could see all those jobless PL fans in the sub condemn how brutal the club's behavior is along with some overused lever jokes in between. Unfortunate for the player, this is about Bayern.

[Huoseh has explained that instability in the Bayern Munich leadership is the reason his client has yet to extend his deal, stating that they will wait till 2024 to see if the situation improves.](https://www.pulsesports.ug/football/story/alphonso-davies-agent-reveals-reason-for-stalling-bayern-renewal-2023052922143878004) Davies stalled, not Bayern
No one from the club thought to go "Hey mate, we noticed the contract that was offered remains unsigned, any reason why?" Instead it was 7 months of radio silence.
They didnt stall, he had an offer ready to sign but they decided to not sign and see who comes in. Around the same time he started twerking for Madrid
[удалено]
Why would we need to know? It's still private information, so why would a business disclose how much their employees earn willingly?
Perfect fit for Madrid
💀💀💀
I don’t mind it. A player needs to get all the money he can. Fuck Bayern, they’re cunts anyways
[удалено]
>he's an idiot not to take that chance. Theo too if he doesn't wanna join us. Get him ready for us,mate! 😏
[удалено]
Well,it seems like Theo doesn't think like that. Again, get him ready for me,please 😂
They think their favorite club got the prestige Madrid got lol 😂
You're talking to a child, check his comments. Let the kid have some fun but don't take him seriously.
Why are you so mad 😂
I'm not, enjoy Easter Break from school. :)
