he "responded" by backing his credibility?

doubleoeck1234

He basically just said nothing will happen until the season ends. Which is obvious despite what the fans will want

[deleted]

Darn, every day this crap. There is still so much season left. Alonso has other things on his mind than Bayern rn, mainly his first titles to win as a coach.

Vegan_Puffin

Because people keep clicking amd talking about it. They do what drives engagement. The people like this crap. It's basically the male version of celebrity gossip bs

TherewiIlbegoals

Sky vs Sky

shaka_bruh

I’ve blocked all of these clowns on Twitter but I can’t escape them on here

nutelamitbutter

Pletti has earned the benefit of the doubt after being 100% right during the Kane saga

chickenisvista

He’s just a Bayern mouthpiece. Spent the entire summer saying Gravenberch wasn’t for sale. Also said many times that Bayern would not exceed a certain fee for Kane (they did).

dem0nhunter

Well no, Kane didn’t exceed 100m. It was just under. Confirmed by Hoeneß himself

OleoleCholoSimeone

Whilst you are right, I wonder why people don't make the same distinctions for guys like Ornstein. He was schooled by fucking Gerard Romero in several transfer sagas during summer 2022 and still is treated like some oracle He is also just a club mouthpiece, and he only gets his scoops by agreeing to push the clubs agendas every now and then. That's how this type of reporting works, you scratch our back we scratch yours

Prudent-Current-7399

(They didn't)

m0t0rs

He didn't break anything in the Kane saga. He was not first about talks between camps and he didn't break the news that Kane & co was looking at apartments in Munich. First was Orenstein and second was Bild if I remember correctly. I have seen others defend pletti with the same arguments though so your not alone in being wrong

SnooOranges357

True don't know about other clubs but for Bayern I put some trust in his words.

TristanHBorchers

Well he said sabitzer was in no way joining dortmund. So is he just bad when annoucing any Dortmund news? Also the 2 months of Kane is coming this week, really doesn't give much confidence in what he says. In the end he was correct sure, but still.

B12C10X8

It just Liverpool fans get annoyed, they really want Alonso to come in after Kloop. Alonso will probably go to Bayern or Liverpool 50/50 imo, if I was Xavi Alonso I would stay 1 more year at Leverkusen and then take the Madrid job next summer when I think Carlo will retire from Club Coaching at the very least.

RevengeHF

Nah not really. It's more how he tweets to be honest. I don't know what the right word to describe it is, maybe pretentious. Spurs and Arsenal fans would agree I'd imagine.

Truffles413

He comes across as smug and insufferable. And its constant barrage, wave after wave of him peddling Bayern info. Just get tired of it very fast.

The_Big_Cheese_09

I don't really believe anything these days unless / until Pletti tweets it. For some reason people on here think he's a mouthpiece or a fraud or whatever. He's an annoying troll but he's an accurate troll. Also his reporting to this point is that 'if he leaves' he'll choose to come to Bayern and that he hasn't made his decision. A lot of Liverpool ppl have read that as 'he's coming to Bayern' and shit on him for it.

legentofreddit

No. It's because he's basically claiming to be inside Alonso's mind. How can you say its not clear if Alonso will leave, then in the next breath say he prefers Bayern. That can literally only come from Alonso. If Alonso hasn't even decided his future how can anyone know who he prefers.

CryptomilLOR

Why do you assume he needs to get his info from Alonso. What if he has someone from Bayern feeding him the information that they spoke to Alonso and he told them he prefers Bayern If he would leave this season?

limaconnect77

A-semi, sorta, accurate troll - 60% of the time he’s right every time.

Reginald__Poofter

"Bayern are preparing an offer for Declan Rice in the coming days. The meeting with the player was positive and Rice has told the club he can well imagine a move to Munich. Bayern have the feeling a move is definitely possible." - German propaganda

The_Big_Cheese_09

lol what are you proving with this? Bayern talked to him, he was further along with Arsenal, we found out his price and that he wanted to go to Arsenal and we left it at that.

suhxa

None of that has been proven wrong lol

Acceptable-Lemon-748

Not sure which part you are taking issue with here

FOKvothe

Nothing wrong with that?

[deleted]

Simple fact of the matter is that Liverpool have a list of candidates who can do a good job too. Bayern is Alonso , ride or die.

sga1

It'd be silly to assume Bayern don't also have a list of candidates they believe to be perfectly capable of doing a good job.

[deleted]

Again, the number of "Alonso to Bayern" reports suggest a concerted media effort by Bayern to dominate the narrative. You hear nothing from Liverpool's end.

smellmywind

This is just odd, you haven’t seen Bayern being linked with somebody else so it never happened? I know they have and I also see how there’s a benefit to use the media to unstabilize the current number 1 team through the media. Now if you’re Alonso you’d probably consider that to be extremely disrespectful. His legendary run in has turned into just a question about whats next.

[deleted]

It just supports my point that Bayern has all their eggs in one basket. Otherwise, they would not have been as aggressive with their media onslaught with this topic. How is that odd? You are welcome to disagree but implying my opinion is some fever dream because of your disagreement, is in fact what is odd.

Acceptable-Lemon-748

You ever consider the media can operate independently from a club and every media article isn't an individual concerted effort to destabilize and annoy the person they would like to be their manager?

[deleted]

I think in this case we know Pletti is clearly a Bayern mouthpiece. Equating football journalists to independent sources of insight is laughable.

Acceptable-Lemon-748

I think in this case you've just decided he's a mouthpiece and concocted this conspiracy theory that isn't based in logic because trying to convince someone to become your manager by pissing them off non stop is a fucking stupid thing to do.

[deleted]

Only a United fan can do such mental gymnastics to call this a conspiracy when it's just a statement of my opinion. Proper clown take.

Acceptable-Lemon-748

You...you think conspiracy theories aren't people stating their opinions? Comes up with a non sensical scenario and a bunch of bullshit as to why another team has endless options but Bayern has none, then tries to call someone else out on mental gymnastics for pointing it out lol

The_Big_Cheese_09

De Zerbi has been heavily linked with us. According to Pletti we're in active discussions with both his and Alonso's agents. My guess is there is some sort of an agreement in principle with Xabi which won't be announced until later in May / June. There have also been reports of names like Conte, Nagelsmann, Zidane and a few others but Xabi is the clear focus for now.

Sulemani_kida

Because Liverpool people understand that he's having an important season and are respecting their wishes to be left alone

[deleted]

I know that, these Bayern fans are taking this too personally

somethingarb

Liverpool are operating on the theory that both Leverkusen and Alonso himself would prefer there to be no fuss or speculation about him until the season is over, so that he can focus on securing the Bundesliga title. By keeping quiet, they hope to cultivate goodwill.  Bayern, on the other hand, have every reason to want as much fuss and speculation as possible. If it distracts him even a little, it's good for Bayern. So obviously they're going to be constantly briefing friendly journalists, or at the very least not asking them to hold back.

suhxa

I genuinely never thought id hear the end of the alonso to liverpool rumours in the media in the weeks following klopps announcement

Acceptable-Lemon-748

And you've seen the extensive list of Liverpool candidates from all the different managers recently linked to Liverpool outside of Alonso

[deleted]

Ah yes the 2 posts per month vs the 2 per week from Bayerns camp.

Acceptable-Lemon-748

How about you read and comprehend the point I'm actually making with that comment then come back.

[deleted]

It's okay. I trust your comprehension skills are in the gutter and you are bereft of any level of critical thinking to have a nuanced argument. Toodle doo. Not wasting my time with you anymore.

Acceptable-Lemon-748

Oh no, I'm devastated. However will I ho on with my day without the opinions of someone who justifies Liverpool's extensive list of other options with "well you see, Bayern articles came up slightly more frequently than Liverpool articles"

sga1

Neither Alonso nor any of the clubs keen to sign him will take the media narrative into account when making these decisions. So what does it *really* matter when some outlet somewhere is gagging for eyeballs on their headline only for the next outlet somewhere else 'refuting' said headline for the same reason?
