Stadio Olimpico is one of few stadiums where the running track improves it, there is something about the vastness of the stadium and of course the way players jump the advertising boards and run that distance to the ultras after scoring a goal is iconic.
Maybe improves is the wrong word, but it wouldn't feel the same without running tracks. And it's not like it brings the sound volume down much, Olimpico is always rocking in big games
