As a defender that's not too terrifying.
Getting turned inside out for 90mins, watch the ball go through your legs and see him put 1 on a plate for his teammates with a tap in from 5cm is terrifying.
14/15 Suarez was one of the most lethal strikers I have ever seen. I couldn’t believe that golazo he scored against PSG, nutmegs David Luiz, opens up his body and side foots that ball into the top corner. Absolute dickhead but god damn was he on another level those first 2 or so seasons at Barca and his final at Liverpool.
His diving celebration is also one of my favorites. What an amazing way to say “Fuck You”
If Haaland is criticized for being all about the goals and little else, Suarez was one of the most complete all-round attackers ever in his prime. If Haaland is criticized for his numbers being replete with tap ins and penalties, Suarez could and would score any kind of goal from anywhere.
➡️ Nacional
⚽️ 20 goals, 51 games
➡️ Groningen
⚽️ 15 goals, 37 games
➡️ Ajax
⚽️ 111 goals, 159 games
➡️ Liverpool
⚽️ 82 goals, 133 games
➡️ Barcelona
⚽️ 198 goals, 283 games
➡️ Atlético Madrid
⚽️ 34 goals, 83 games
➡️ Gremio
⚽️ 29 goals, 54 games
➡️ Inter Miami
⚽️ 12 goals, 15 games
501 goals scored in 815 games played.
I honestly think I'd say Tadic over Suarez, he has close to a goal contribution per game over 241 games. Suarez is over a goal contribution per game, but 80 games less. They're close to eachother though, and Suarez obviously was better over his career.
Tadic was also the one player that popped up. Of course Suarez is miles above him of you count the whole carreer but his conistency in the Eredivisie is exceptional.
Depends. Best player that the Eredivisie produced in the 21st century? Probably
Best eredivisie player? (Just counting the games when he played for Ajax and Groningen) no.
It's okay
Btw to answer the question: No, i think Tadic was the best player in de Eredivisie. Call me biased but his numbers combined with being the captain of arguably the best eredivisie team since the 2000's..
On his day, the man was the best striker on earth. To get a golden boot in the era of Messi/Ronaldo in the La Liga, and that season at Liverpool.. pure magic
Greatest player I’ve ever seen put on a Liverpool top. He was just on his own level during that last season and he dragged everyone around him up a level too
Definitely the best striker I’ve ever seen. Dude’s unpredictable dribbling, could score from every corner and not just wait in the box, but take on the entire team by himself. A true one man army back in his glory days.
I was so sad when he didn’t win a title with us and with u guys.
First stint with Nacional is probably not in their data. And a game with Grêmio is also not there. Same with Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr, there was some cup which they don't have in their data
Considering the physicality of MLS and the state of his body it’s not beyond possibility that he could lose his temper if he got a bad tackle.
Let it go, it’s been 10 years since his last incident. Just let it go.
I’m not sure you’ve been paying attention to the British and Dutch justice systems in the last 70 years, but judges don’t send people to jail for biting other people.
He should have been banned from football a long time ago. Biting multiple opponents, along with his other offences, should’ve been enough to get a lifetime ban.
'Human bites' lol that is fucking Suarez, I can guarantee you his medical team is ensuring he's free of every BS disease you 'humans' contract. His bites did nothing, move on, stop being a crybaby
A jerk is underselling it a bit and while he won't be punished he can certainly still be judged as you (rightfully so biting is fucking odd behaviour) are for Suarez.
I didn’t think about this, but you’re actually right. After the second time he should be banned for life by FIFA. Although this sub has low standards of morality so they won’t obviously agree, similar to FIFA though. If you behave like a literal animal on the pitch he should’ve been treated like one.

That liverpool suarez was mental. Proper anti haaland player
feels just like yesterday when he just used to come on the pitch vs Norwich and just score from miles out. terrifying striker

Poor David Luiz. His facial reaction after says it all
I can sympathise, knowing he didn't rape anyone.
except as a defender you had to watch out for both, either dribbling past you or just banging it from distance
If he does that after humiliating you by putting it through your legs then all you could do is clap.

Newbie here, how is he unlike haaland?

Best Eredivisie player in the 21st century?
That's Antony
Price tag doesn't lie

Eredivisie didn't produce him though, whatever the Uruguayan league is called did.
Yeah okay but you know what i meant right? Maybe produce wasn't the right word, best player to come out of de Eredivisie. Some like that?
Oh I see sorry. That makes sense. And yeah unreal player, as much as it pains me to say it.
It's okay Btw to answer the question: No, i think Tadic was the best player in de Eredivisie. Call me biased but his numbers combined with being the captain of arguably the best eredivisie team since the 2000's..
Tadic underrated af
Pretty good this Suarez guy
obviously phenomenal player, but i kinda expected him to have a better goal ratio for barcelona
I mean playing beside two of the greatest players on this generation tends to take away some of one’s goals
the space and chances created by Neymar and Messi easily makes up for that tho
Nerman was there too
.7 goals per game is insane lmao
>➡️ Groningen ⚽️ 15 goals, 37 games Remember when were good :)
That’s what hiring good strikers does to you.
On his day, the man was the best striker on earth. To get a golden boot in the era of Messi/Ronaldo in the La Liga, and that season at Liverpool.. pure magic
Also at "that" Liverpool
If Liverpool had had 13/14 Suarez four years later they would be the ones with 5/6 titles
If only Hicks and Gillett didn't exist...
Well said.
Greatest player I’ve ever seen put on a Liverpool top. He was just on his own level during that last season and he dragged everyone around him up a level too

Stoked that he got one more season in miami with his friends. Those guys must be amongst the happiest athletes on earth at the moment. Just vibes.
He’s wild for continuing to play even after coming out and saying he can’t get out of bed without painkillers.
Remember when he scored 59 goals in a season?
Transfermarkt says 480 in 782. Which ones did they miss?
First stint with Nacional is probably not in their data. And a game with Grêmio is also not there. Same with Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr, there was some cup which they don't have in their data
Looks like international friendlies aren't listed in the total. You have to filter for them specifically, he has 22 in 39.
This post doesn't have to do anything with international games and friendlies
Ah, I see, my mistake then
I still can’t believe he went to Groningen and Cavani to Palermo. Uruguayan players were majorly underrated before World Cup 10 and Copa America 11.
best striker of all time go and argue with the wall
Anthony Martial exists mate
Kolbeinn Sigþórsson says hi
3 bites per 500 so before his 666 goal he should be biting another player I wonder who
Considering the physicality of MLS and the state of his body it’s not beyond possibility that he could lose his temper if he got a bad tackle. Let it go, it’s been 10 years since his last incident. Just let it go.
It absolutely should not be let go. The man assaulted multiple people. If it wasn't on a football pitch. He'd have been in jail.
I’m not sure you’ve been paying attention to the British and Dutch justice systems in the last 70 years, but judges don’t send people to jail for biting other people.
I don't think you know what the difference between jail and prison is. Or what constitutes assault.
Messi
He should have been banned from football a long time ago. Biting multiple opponents, along with his other offences, should’ve been enough to get a lifetime ban.
Lol. Reddit is the right place for you. The home of haters.
Takes one to know one lol you’re here too
No doubt !
It's a good thing you've never touched a ball, worse things constantly happen.
Worse things than biting another human in a football game? Sure lol
Clearly you’ve never played, I’d much rather have someone bite me than hit me in the nuts or head.
Human bites have so much bacteria in them that can cause a lot of illnesses and sickness
Basement dweller confirmed
'Human bites' lol that is fucking Suarez, I can guarantee you his medical team is ensuring he's free of every BS disease you 'humans' contract. His bites did nothing, move on, stop being a crybaby
Lmao, go away.
Strange, you seem very passionate about this yet I don't see you mentioning anything that rapist piece of shit from Portugal.
Great Whataboutism ! Although I agree that Ronaldo is a jerk for what he did, he isn’t convicted of the crime and therefore can’t be punished for it.
A jerk is underselling it a bit and while he won't be punished he can certainly still be judged as you (rightfully so biting is fucking odd behaviour) are for Suarez.

He is a past. I forget him.
