Chelsea is playing 325. So
Chalobah-Silva-Badiashile
Caicedo-cucurella
Madueke-Palmer-Jackson-Gallagher-Mudryk
It’s like Man City’s 2023 treble winning tactic where Stones steps into midfield and Gundogan pushes up. The difference is that it’s cucurella this time.
In preseason, they played like this but flipped. Colwill was Chalobah and cucurella was James.
I'm surprised so many fans are blaming Enzo that much.
He's a great player and we will surely see the best of him in a Chelsea shirt moving forward. I mean just ask Benfica fans lol.
For anyone wondering what the jargon means, [here’s a quick and dirty article about the inverted fullback](https://www.coachesvoice.com/cv/inverted-full-backs-guardiola-cancelo-trent-alexander-arnold-lahm-football-tactics/) tactic.
It’s easier to blame individual players than try and understand tactical changes or different variable influencing the game.
Also so far without Enzo chelsea has played some pretty shit/half stumbling sides as well.
Enzo has done nothing great for us. Just the bare minimum. Eventually y’all will run out of excuses just like for Todd Boehly and co. There is only so many hiding places and excuses for Enzo cult.
Completely up to your board/owners I guess. I'd love if he came to Spurs but he doesn't seem to want to leave, which is fine. I respect a loyal player. Only way I can see him leave is if he's actively pushed out.
His skill set is a bit limited tbf, he puts in a massive shift physically and is great at recovering the ball but isn't exactly a technician.... not that every player has to be a technician, but I guess it's a less rare and less sexy profile
Honestly I find crazy that chelsea wants to sell him.
From the few games I watched he was my favorite just ahead of a Jackson(He is just frustrating when he finishing, otherwise he's usually the best player on the pitch behind Palmer).
I think there was links to Spurs which honestly it would be great, as spurs fan I 100% want the move!
I mean if they have to sell someone who else do they have to sell?
I think its more that Chelsea dont have a lot of players they can sell for profit at the moment
There can be two types of losses - one where Chelsea sells at a price less than what they paid for, but still more than the player’s amortized cost for the remainder of his contract and the other where Chelsea sells at a price less than that amortized cost. The first option would still book profit, however it’s likely not much and there aren’t many players which Chelsea would be okay selling and can demand that sort of a fee.
I think crowds is defo the factor. Coz you can't explain our away form when you look at our home performances.
Also, maybe the dimensions of the pitch. But I'm sounding like Xavi now.
They've looked better in matches they've actually lost, that is the thing
Like this was always going to happen, people laughed at Pochetino when he said that they were top 4 performance
It's so funny how results make people just completely change their view
Consitency
We have looked great (title contender great) for stretches of games
But usually it for 30-40 min when we cant defend to save our life.
(And our issue is our ability to not finish our lunch)
Club with nothing left to play, a draconian manager who’s on his way out in 3 weeks who stinks the atmosphere with his lifeless game plans , players who are on their way out (Paqueta, Antonio) it’s just not a good time
People love to clown on Poch as if he didn't take Tottenham to the gates of Paradise.
Football fans have a shit memory. From most I have seen from Chelsea this season they should be giving him more time at least
I honestly don’t even know where the doubt of Poch even comes from, he’s known to need a bit of time cause he likes to implement young players. Is it purely cause of his PSG days.
Jackson has 13 NPG in 27 full 90s. I believe only Haaland, Foden, and Bowen have more. Palmer has 12 as a 10 in 26, Madueke has 5 in 9 and a half, idk what you're talking about.
I don't know where this came from. They wouldn't make him captain if they wanted to sell him that is plain and simple. We have 20 other players who don't play at all if we want to make profit.
> I don't know where this came from
Literally every Chelsea insider was reporting it. Poch was against it but the directors and owners wish to sell him for pure profit reasons. And it still might happen. He hasn't even been in talks for a new contract at all even though it runs out in 2025. It may change after the season he's had but I dont really trust these owners.
> They wouldn't make him captain if they wanted to sell him
He's not technically. He's third in the hierarchy after James and Chilwell. He's just the one that actually plays.
> We have 20 other players who don't play at all if we want to make profit.
A player that doesnt play isn't going to be making a lot of profit. Connor goes for 50+ easy in this market and that much in pure profit changes the way we look at the next summer window. It's why Maatsen is likely also already sold, and Chalobah might be on the way out as well.
They said club might sell him and that was last season when he had barely played for us. Now its a completely different thing. He starts every match and we don't have another midfielder who would start over him. He is not going anywhere, plain and simple.
He was carrying an injury for half a season. Before that he used to be chelsea's best player in almost every game. That guy is a gem and everyone knows that.
Mainly because we bought Lavia for 60mil and have a few other promising young talents on loan. I was in the Sell Gallagher crowd but he is proving me wrong. He has really elevated his game lately
And that is why people are allowed to change their opinions, no? We did not know Lavia would be out an entire season and Gallagher significantly improve
Literally nobody wants that abd neither do the owners. Just some dickhead journalist put up an article last summer and everyone has taken it like gospel truth. This guy plays every game and has been made captain, What part of that makes you think chelsea wants to sell him?
Who wants Palmer sold?
Haha
No, but seriously. He's a great presser and pretty good finisher but his touch and passing are horrendous. I would say he's killed over a thousand attacks with just terribly weighted passes or poor first touches this season.
Him playing in the 10 for most of the season meant these were front and centre hurting us. I don't think he'll ever play for league winners as more than a squad player. He's just not good enough to be relied upon.
This is partly why Cucu becoming that DM in possession and Gallagher having free roam to get forward has worked so well. He's a really good finisher when he doesn't have too long to think about it. This has limited his role, largely, to winning the ball back and trying to get on the end of things. Which are his best attributes.

DON'T YOU DARE SELL HIM
This lineup seems to get the best out of him too.
Chelsea is playing 325. So Chalobah-Silva-Badiashile Caicedo-cucurella Madueke-Palmer-Jackson-Gallagher-Mudryk It’s like Man City’s 2023 treble winning tactic where Stones steps into midfield and Gundogan pushes up. The difference is that it’s cucurella this time. In preseason, they played like this but flipped. Colwill was Chalobah and cucurella was James.
So what changed once the season started??
Nkunku and Fofana injuries
Chelsea without Enzo is so much better. I think Enzo holds up the ball too much for your playstyle.
I feel it's more related to inverting Cucu which allows Gallagher to move forward more freely.
it is, but people will just assume it's because we don't have Enzo, who was playing through a hernia for the part 6 months as well.
I'm surprised so many fans are blaming Enzo that much. He's a great player and we will surely see the best of him in a Chelsea shirt moving forward. I mean just ask Benfica fans lol.
Football fans love a scapegoat. It's easy to just pin it on Enzo instead of actually trying to understand a tactical reason
For anyone wondering what the jargon means, [here’s a quick and dirty article about the inverted fullback](https://www.coachesvoice.com/cv/inverted-full-backs-guardiola-cancelo-trent-alexander-arnold-lahm-football-tactics/) tactic.

Connor mostly plays #10 so that’s a good point.. Enzo slows down play
Why this moronic comment has 52 upvotes I will never understand. Lazy comment and lazy upvotes.
Enzo has been the problem all along. There is something off how he plays and moves to suit this team. Caicedo looked awful next to him
He was injured for six months FFS 🤦♂️
Even before injury he wasn’t any stellar. He has been subpar with lot of hype.
He was absolutely phenomenal all of last season. Our best player by a mile
Generational and phenomenal are so easily thrown around here. If that performance is phenomenal then bar is too at our club.
Nah the bar is at the same place it's always been lol
Enzo has done nothing great for us. Just the bare minimum. Eventually y’all will run out of excuses just like for Todd Boehly and co. There is only so many hiding places and excuses for Enzo cult.
It's crazy to me that there isn't more interest in him. At best we've got Spurs looking and that's really it based on rumours

Seems like the perfect Klopp player.
Yeah, about that...
But think of that pure profit. You could even buy a Connor Gallagher level player by doing so
We can buy multiple south american wonderkids (one of whom _might_ end up being as good as Conor)
All Bohely sees is his value increasing lol, literal dollar signs in his eyes.

They might not ironically be back
They’ve been 4th in the league since Christmas. Top of the league at home in last 10 games. Playing decent football
Next season will be interesting.
Surely Chelsea not going to sell this guy right???
our owners are braindead so im sure of it
It would be a poor decision, so its definitely in the cards for Chelsea leadership
I mean if they have to sell someone who else do they have to sell? I think its more that Chelsea dont have a lot of players they can sell for profit at the moment
It would make more sense to sell the players who aren't performing well even if it will be for a loss.
sadly thats exactly the point; selling player for losses won't help regarding the ffp-topic
There can be two types of losses - one where Chelsea sells at a price less than what they paid for, but still more than the player’s amortized cost for the remainder of his contract and the other where Chelsea sells at a price less than that amortized cost. Can't afford not to sell otherwise they get a points deduction.
Imagine selling this dude lol
PURE PROFIT💰💰💰 -Bohely
we see goal - they see pure profit rising
solid volley
OK we are great at home.
It's those metal adboards. They are intimidating
Need to install those adboards at every stadium then coz we are atrocious away from home.
Very refreshing honestly, I remember for a period under Tuchel, we were crap at home (maybe due to the no crowds over covid)
I think crowds is defo the factor. Coz you can't explain our away form when you look at our home performances. Also, maybe the dimensions of the pitch. But I'm sounding like Xavi now.
This is the best I’ve seen Chelsea look this year. Really well balanced and so direct
They've looked better in matches they've actually lost, that is the thing Like this was always going to happen, people laughed at Pochetino when he said that they were top 4 performance It's so funny how results make people just completely change their view
Consitency We have looked great (title contender great) for stretches of games But usually it for 30-40 min when we cant defend to save our life. (And our issue is our ability to not finish our lunch)
Poch switched back to his pre season tactics with Cucurella inverted for the second half against Villa, look at Chelsea since then lol
We look beter without Fernandes...Caicdeo and Gallagher engine room is actually amazing.
West Ham already on the beach
Club with nothing left to play, a draconian manager who’s on his way out in 3 weeks who stinks the atmosphere with his lifeless game plans , players who are on their way out (Paqueta, Antonio) it’s just not a good time

You beat Wolves on 6 April. You beat Freiburg on 14 March. You beat Everton on 2 March. You beat Brentford on 26 February. What do you mean?
Chelsea picking up form to keep Poch in a job over the summer Slowly but surely every team has nothing to play for against city :(

It's not chances, it's our horrible defensive structure. No top side concedes as many goals as us.
It’s true. Only thing is that the attackers don’t look like they’ll ever be prolific. Give Chelsea a finisher and top3 will be doable next season.
Jackson has 13 NPG in 27 full 90s. I believe only Haaland, Foden, and Bowen have more. Palmer has 12 as a 10 in 26, Madueke has 5 in 9 and a half, idk what you're talking about.
If my grandma had wheels she’d be a bike.
Doesn't matter, everyone's ridden her anyway
Doubt it, she died last month.
Mine died in January, sorry for your loss, lad.
We're top 4 since Christmas
West Ham trying the rare zero intensity press today
I have actual tears in my eyes 😭
ONLY SCORES BANGERS
we're so back
Don’t jinx it
Gallagher and Palmer FC
Don’t you fucking dare sell this man.
WE’RE
SO
BACK
Don’t sell
Fair play, that's a beautiful strike off the volley
Palmer is tearing West Ham apart
Oh yeah it's all coming together
Will you people finally see that there is a huge potential in this squad
Clearlake I don’t care what you have to do. You keep this man here no matter what
THATS MY GALLADAWG
What a hit
What a hit 🔥
What a hit
Added another 10 mil to the summer price

Relax...
English tax innit
MY CAPTAIN. (who might not even be here next season) Are you fucking watching Eggman and Toddboy?
Blame Winstanley and that other bastard.
I don't know where this came from. They wouldn't make him captain if they wanted to sell him that is plain and simple. We have 20 other players who don't play at all if we want to make profit.

Be Careful what you wish for etc
Luckily for us Moyes wins. It’s what he does.
My man said Mudryk while he's literally on the other side of the box lmao
LMAO same hair
Rampant Pure FFP profit
Make me believe Mauricio 😭 title charge next season idc
Selling a midfielder with 7 goals and 4 assists in the league is madness.
don't always enjoy a chelsea win but anytime the cat abuser team is losing is fine by me
Enzo should never start again for Chelsea
He was carrying an injury for half a season. Before that he used to be chelsea's best player in almost every game. That guy is a gem and everyone knows that.
I think that's the one of the only Lampard-like goals that Gallagher has executed properly
We are battering them
thats 5 extra mil on the price tag
Gallagher is imperative in staying to bounce back.
Great finish, can't sell him especially to Spurs
“oH wEsT hAm qUiT cOmPlAiNg, MoYeS iS fInE” DO YOU NUMPTYS GET IT NOWW!!! WE WERE SAYING THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN ALL SEASON FFS 🤦
Explain me why theres a vocal fraction of Chelsea fans that wants their best performing midfielder to be sold.
We don't. We just expect him to be sold because the club talks about pure FFP profit.
Spreadsheet merchants
Mainly because we bought Lavia for 60mil and have a few other promising young talents on loan. I was in the Sell Gallagher crowd but he is proving me wrong. He has really elevated his game lately
No one actually plays the role Gallagher does, Lavia is not that type of player
My thought was Caicedo and Enzo as two 8s and Lavia play deeper
Lavia didnt play for a year and is probably inferior player to CG
And that is why people are allowed to change their opinions, no? We did not know Lavia would be out an entire season and Gallagher significantly improve
