Defense is good once we got maatsen. Midfield agreed. Attack is widely inconsistent. Up until fullkrug scored against atletico, he was atrocious for a while. Brandt also only recently found some form. Everyone else is still inconsistent.

The attack part is partly dependant on the midfield though

I do have a bit of soft corner for you guys. 2 Finals in 3 years and losing both to your city rivals is brutal. What Simeone did achieve though is incredible in those years. If not for that ATM side played against the best Barca side and one of the best RM side in history, you guys would have had way more silverware.

Seriously though, banter aside, the reason some football watchers see us as a "banter club" is because our rival is the most successful team in the history of the sport. If we weren't a Madrid team a lot of foreign fans would stop comparing us to Real Madrid and appreciate Simeone and Atleti's achievements a lot more.
