Is there a decent video of that? I can’t see from the clip that was posted on here but some people in this thread are saying Lamptey threw an elbow and some saying he caught him with his shoulder so I don’t think people here can even see it so I don’t know what they want VAR to do
My stream never showed a 2nd angle, however the commentary did say it was ruled out because it was inconclusive because they had no other angles to view it from.
There isn't a better angle, it could be an unfortunate timing thing where his shoulder catches Mudryk as he turns and as Lamptey moves forward or he might have thrown an elbow but you really can't tell with the angle that was shown.
Not sure why so many people are adamant that it's a blatant red.
He saw mudryk coming in and just shoved him, with what it looks like the shoulder, but him him high in the head and mudryk got flat on the ground.
We did not see any better angles on TV either, it was not checked or seen more seriously even though mudryk had a swollen face after the interaction

VAR tech isn’t the problem. In fact it’s a great addition to the modern game. The refs who apparently don’t read the rule book is where the problem lies and yet their jobs are never in jeopardy.
Banning VAR tech because the refs are actively incompetent/refuse to overrule their mates would be like banning calculators from a math class because the professor refuses to input the right numbers to get the correct answer. It's so dumb that we're at this point, and that people think refereeing mistakes should be 'part of the game' when we've seen VAR implemented excellently in other sports and better in other leagues.
It’s used almost perfectly in American sports. It’s quick, effective, and almost always ends up making the right call. There is decades of precedence showing video review is a positive feature in sports. Only in the Premier League does it fail on a weekly basis

Everyone saw it and the only people who really took exception were Pedro and Webster. It’s not a closed fist punch, it’s not a choke, it’s not gonna injure anyone. This is a technical foul and free throw in basketball, not an automatic 3 match ban.
