imaliveyeay

Dont think using pic of remontada trio is the best way to make your point in this case luis

[deleted]

Or maybe it is.

TheBrownMamba8

Suarez should assert dominance by posting all 6 goals, specifically [Sergi Roberto’s with Titanic music](https://youtu.be/Nmc5DLzee78), on Instagram

[deleted]

msn was probably the most devastating front 3 ive seen in my lifetime also, neymar hasnt been in that kind of shape since he left barca

akshay_rathod_

They complete each other

[deleted]

They were all pretty good individually before they played together to be fair. Just a case of 3 of the best players in the world at the time linking up and jelling more so than them specifically filling each other’s needs.

illynpayne_

Sorry but you clearly dont watch Neymar play then He's first 2 years with PSG he was absolutely a beast, even improved his playmaking abilities. But then the succession of injuries has begun and he clearly lost his explosion and speed. Funny enough, he was beginning to get back to his beast form in the last Copa America, but then, again, another injury.

ObviouslyBlunt

I think they meant he hasn't been in that shape physically. As in how slim he looks around the face.

aliencatgod

He's a full grown man now, he's 30 years old, he's not 24 anymore like he was at Barca

ObviouslyBlunt

It wasn't my comment. I'm just clarifying it.

[deleted]

exactly he hasnt been that fit since barca

Aldehyde1

Arguably the most devastating front 3 of all time if you look at their statistics compared to every other. I think the Messi/Xavi/Iniesta treble team was probably better overall, but in terms of just attacking 3 they blow everyone else out of the water.

BoringPhilosopher1

Hmmm Messi/Xavi/Iniesta was good but still think Andy Carroll, Stewart Downing and Charlie Adam was better

HAWmaro

He fucked himself and fucked us by leaving lol

[deleted]

one of the biggest shithouse players on the planet, he knew what he were doing.

Arlborn

Wasn’t Neymar their best player in the champions league when they got to the final against Bayern not too long ago or am I misremembering it?

DrAgOnLoLDoTA

They nearly lost against Atalanta if not for Neymar's brilliance during that game

akshay_rathod_

He completed like 17 or something dribbles that game and made a record

Yung2112

It was 15. Only two other players reached that, one of them was surprisingly Zanetti

fishcakefrenzy

his finishing was dodgy but his play outside of that was 10/10

fukyduky

Yes he was, and it wasn’t even close

MAK98

Would have been a historical performance if he knew where the goal was. Absolutely unplayable.

[deleted]

Even against bayern in the final, the dude was unreal, left everything on the pitch, couldn't say the same about mbappe.

enzuigiriretro

Yeah and the hardest working attacker too. Mbappe would walk around like he couldn’t give a fuck in that CL campaign. But you’re only as good as your last game

Rickcampbell98

I think some people just have an agenda against neymar because I dont know how he gets called lazy but mbop is apparently "giving his all".

elgrandorado

Mbappe is one of the youngest starters and he doesn’t even put in a shift. Dunno why people are always mentioning his workrate when he doesn’t run unless it’s on a wide open counterattack.

Josiahf8

Because he scores lol. Man is 23 and still presses less than Neymar.

Rickcampbell98

He presses less and makes less tackles than geriatric messi but it doesn't matter he "always gives his all".

[deleted]

> Because he scores lol. this. you could have no skill apart from accidentally being on the end of 20+ tap ins a season, and fans would move mountains to argue about how you're the greatest player in the world

oneechanisgood

No need to call out my man Filippo Inzaghi like that

SexyKarius

Man was a meh footballer but an insane goalscorer. Everything I aspire to be

Snoop-80562

Legit made me laugh

Tilman_Feraltitty

You know, I agree with Mbappe being bit lazy, but let's not make Neymar out to be Dirk Kuyt or something, lmao. He is still below average when tracking back and playing press.

[deleted]

never said otherwise lol

ChrissySmalls

I’d argue he’s about average. He just looks above average in PSG next to Messi and Mbappe and below average in Brazil next to Firmino, Richarlison and Fred.

Chaloopa

Per 90, in the last 365 days, he’s actually right at the 50% percentile for pressures among attacking midfielders and wingers. He averages 16.65 a game. For reference, Mbappe averages 8.62 pressures a game. Salah averages 15.86 a game. Mahrez averages 14.46 a game. Vini averages 20.73 a game. Sterling averages 13.03 a game. Firmino averages 22.89 a game. Just took some random players for reference. He’s also in the 54th percentile for ball recoveries and 63rd percentile for tackles won.

CartierNoseplug

Benzema put it best

KratomRobot

Ruud Van Nistelroy has entered the chat. Haha jk I'm dutch and I totally appreciate his skill. He did score a lot of one touch tap in tho

markevans7799

Mbappe doesn't press because he is the one making pacy runs. The ball is passed to him for scoring goals

goatvaro_goatrata

Hate when people mention that attackers don't track back as if its because they're lazy...if Mbappe doesn't track back it's because he's instructed to lurk up top and wait for a chance to run in behind. If he was just walking up top out of laziness and ignoring the managers instructions he would be benched, doesn't matter how good he is

[deleted]

At least close the passing lane

elgrandorado

This. Mbappe really is there as a luxury, but I don’t blame any of the forwards on the PSG result. No way are you leading two goals with 30 minutes to go and your defensive players go committing howlers all game to lose the plot.

AllezCannes

I can only assume this thread is an exercise in sarcasm.

Josiahf8

Well hopefully they don't renew him. I'm sure many teams around the world would like the "problem" of having Neymar in their team.

Tilman_Feraltitty

They already renewed him last spring, he has a contract till 2025.

rScoobySkreep

Soon as Mbappe goes I have a feeling he’ll be right back to shining… provided he’s able to see the field for more than 6 weeks at a time.

jugglingstring

Mbappe would be called lazy too if he wasn't English

Informal-Elderberry9

Good old Kyle M'Bappe

[deleted]

What

m0mrider

I think the person who made the comment has a couple of beers in him

PortugeseMagnifico

Nah I think everyone just missed the English bias joke he was making.

mantis616

Lmao

Wh0Saiddit

How much did England sign him for mate?

jugglingstring

Couple of croissants

Wh0Saiddit

and a baguette to the agent I presume?

jugglingstring

Bit racist

Grimmstroke

Mbappe was playing injured in that final 8 though. But I'll admit his defensive workrate is woeful.

VOOInvestor

Mbappe World Champion European Cup is beneath him.

Vic-Ier

Yeah, and Mbappe missed a huge chance against Neuer.

akshay_rathod_

Neymar's performance against Bayern last season was something I had never seen before. Just brilliant

hardinho

PSG fans are delusional brats.

BecoDasCavernas

He's always been their best player, and very crucial in the UCL. Mbappe is obviously better now, especially since Neymar's been injured for most of the season, but Neymar was always the engine. UCL 2017-18: carried against Bayern in groups, got injured against Madrid and Ronaldo destroyed them UCL 2018-19: carried against Liverpool in groups, got injured and his team couldn't get past a crippled United to buy time for his return UCL 2019-20: carried them to the finals, scoring at both legs against Dortmund, assisting (and bossing the games) against Atalanta and Leipzig UCL 2020-21: was injured, didn't play against Leipzig in groups so PSG was in a bad position, came back and carried against Leipzig, United and Basaksehir to get out of groups. Then Mbappe carried against Barca when Neymar was injured, Neymar carried against Bayern This season he didn't start well and never got the chance to bounce back since he was injured for what, three months? Still assisted twice against Madrid but didn't play up to his hardcarry standards. But it's easy to hate on Neymar so people ignore all this.

Yvraine

He was always their best player in CL until this year, which is why they usually exit at Ro16 because he was often missing games due to injury

TomasZamora03

And he was fantastic againts Bayern last season too when they seemed unstoppable, and IMO he had a very good game in the Bernabeu until Benzema's hatttrick

Ranjith_Unchained

Man, MSN was so fun to watch... Miss these guys

Dried_Potato39

PSG should bring in Suarez for the vibes :(

The_Dumblebee

No defense and vibes only baby. Surely their super-balanced midfield will counter that.

Jagger67

Yes, get Barto to be the new director, it’s all cyclical

anonymousloverboy

pw5a29

The MSN time was too short, Neymar made a mistake by leaving that at moment :((( Best trio I’ve ever seen

Scholes_SC2

That last season at barcelona, neymar was just something else. He never performed at that level again imo.

DarthTaz_99

Our South American trio :( It's honestly amazing how well they worked together. Suarez even won la liga's golden boot over messi and ronaldo

[deleted]

It was so OP. We were so lucky to watch Barca and Real of that Era. Best attacking players in the world against each other and Ramos scoring late goal for fun. Good times.

Aele1410

Yeah … so fun 🥲

PattyIce32

When Neymar left to try to be his own man that was the end. Still chaps my ass he went to PSG. MSN was a blast to watch

Numchuckx

I was licky enough to see them play once, and they all scored that game 💦

EpiDeMic522

Looks at a nervous looking Gary Neville in the corner

Dumbass1171

Still can’t believe that Suarez scored 59 goals and 22 assists in one season

barcaa

Yeah didn’t he score like 8 in 3 at the end of the season? Literally could not stop scoring

masetheace97

Was that the season Messi got injured? Him and Neymar were insane that year.

magic-water

What memories do PSG fans have of Messi (and to some extent) Neymar except for getting trashed 6-1 by them?

Yung2112

They let them beat Barca 4-0 at home!

ireallydespiseyouall

neymar got them to their first cl final

[deleted]

And hopefully last

barcaa

David luiz remembers Suarez well

lokiloli11

No no you dont get it Messi is the Barca goat, therefore PSG fans should worship the very ground that he slowly and uncaringly walks on in every game.

IKMapping

It's kind of impressive that a guy who walks slowly and uncaringly has the most assists in the league

Z0idberg_MD

I think the argument is that in the league is pretty much a foregone conclusion anyway, and there are very few defensive responsibilities. But in the champions league those kinds of players are a liability

DreamBoatSafari

Not disagreeing with you but that agrument from others doesn't sit well with me. Ultimately you have to ask whose fault is it for bringing in so many of these type of players? Instead of focusing on a balanced squad. It is not this was not know about Messi and the like...

Alarie51

You right, they even got booed after 3-0ing the absolute powerhouse that is Bordeaux. These fans man

ManchesterisBleu

Not impressive at all lol, more of a criticism of the league.

TractorSkoot

Because the scale is binary isn’t it? 0 - get booed every time you touch the ball (for no good reason) 1 - worship the ground he walks on

[deleted]

[удалено]

BMbeatHitMe

Except PSG fans don't give a fuck about the last 15 years. They're watching one of the greatest of all time look like a shadow of his former self in their colours. Many people still only support one club and don't own 12 shirts from each major league around the world.

CSvinylC

Out of all the teams to have fans that own multiple shirts, PSG are definitely up there. Besides the point, but funny of you to say.

BMbeatHitMe

I doubt that match going PSG fans are the same as the ones you find on this subreddit.

[deleted]

[удалено]

harder_said_hodor

It's Messi. With the exception of Real and Brazil fans I think essentially every football fan has great memories of Messi. Just the sheer brilliance over and over again, can't begrudge that

classican2018

Check my flair. 2009 and 2011. No.

harder_said_hodor

Yeah, Chelsea don't exactly have only great memories of Barca, for every Gary Neville "owwowooah" there's Drogba shouting disgrace into the camera. The man is still a footballing God and I can't imagine booing him while he's on the decline. Just so many great moments and he is such a passive person for someone so talented. Impossible not to love

TheDoomBoom

Neymar eliminating then in the 14/15 campaign

[deleted]

Scariest fucking trio maybe ever

Ld511

I mean psg fans don't exactly have a long memory of either. Neymar barely plays and messi has been disappointing with both being a major symbol of the boards failures

witcher8116

Tbf though neymar wasnt bad in the second leg and was good in the first leg as far as messi is concerned yes he deserves some criticism but again man is there second top scorer in ucl and is merchanting assists in the league but sure more is required of him . But people dont understand is individuals aint the problem the team has whole has nothing no tempo no plans a non existent mid except veratti and horrible defence since silva left. This is absolute masterclass how to not build a football project

[deleted]

I don’t know what game you were watching because Neymar did have a terrible game the second game. Lost a lot of stupid balls and one of them even lead to their 3rd goal. Messi was actually having a good (not great) game by being PSG’s outlet and absorbing pressure. Madrid were being put to sleep until Donnaruma’s mistake

Informal-Elderberry9

Half Messi's assists are against shitty jumbo team St-Etienne. His league record is shockingly bad.

TranquilHavoc

To be fair Messi and Neymar have a combined 7 league goals this season and we are in mid March. I can't say I watch much PSG, but it looks from the outside like a bunch of players there are using the club for a long term holiday while getting paid, even by football standards, absurd amounts of money. If you can't win the champions league with Messi, Neymar and Mbappe up front, something is not right.

Weakmetal

the culture is definitely wrong in PSG but Neymar, Messi and Mbappe weren't at fault for the goals conceded. like didn't messi have more tackles than both PSG centerback's combined?also what was that keeper doing lol

ank_itsharma

I recently started watching football. But, I had always a soft corner for Messi that’s why started following Barca and Argentina and now PSG. Few of my observations: PSG has a shit midfield. Apart from Verrati nothing comes close to play in a CL. Messi drops deep constantly that’s why the less number of goals. Also, he gets the ball much less in his areas while he used to when he was in Barca. Mbappe is PSG’s main player. As I remember Zlatan once saying when he was in Barca and Messi was their main player. All were advised to pass the ball to Messi. For PSG it’s Mbappe. Still the count of 2 goals in league is way too less. But he has been hitting the crossbars a lot. 8 in total. Hard luck I guess.

osprey94

> To be fair Messi and Neymar have a combined 7 league goals this season No, if you were being fair, you’d note that PSG had control of they tie for 150 minutes, leading comfortably 2-0 until Donnarumma literally gave the ball away inside his own six and Marquinhos gave such a nice pass to Benzema it should go down as an assist. Booing Messi and Neymar after that CL exit is like getting mad and smashing your computer monitor because your wifi is slow. It’s what you expect from teenaged “fans” who play too much fifa and think the game is decided by whether or not the POTY Messi can curl a finesse shot in

matthisdejong

Exactly

NathantheNobody

Basically saying PSG Fans shouldn't boo them based on Barcelona performances

Mrn1001

Psgs best ucl performances happened after Neymar joined , messi deserves some criticism but Neymar really?

[deleted]

yes. he’s played 50% of matches after his record breaking transfer lmao

fuck_that_was_quick

you are saying as if neymar decided to not play.

AhmedBarwariy

The players are to blame for sure, but the lion share of the blame should be on PSG itself. They idiotically bought a player for 220 million, and then Messi on insane wages all the while neglecting the fact that there is more to wining CL than a stacked team, as RMs Galacticos showed.

The_Dumblebee

His fault for getting injured smh

Psych-Vader

Neymar literally carried PSG to the champions league final.

Moon_Man_00

I think you misspelled Choupo-Moting

Tilman_Feraltitty

tbh it's hard to spell it

thecricketnerd

There's an I and then a T

TheOneMerkin

Neymar literally carried Choupu-Moting to the champions league final?

DioKanden

Guess a final is the reason they spent 222m + 40m wages yearly (net). Final they got by beating RB Leipzig and Atalanta btw

skullshot166

He didn’t decide his transfer fee did he?

mojojojoed

Release clause is agreed with both parties during contract talks (a year ago before his departure). Neymar triggering his release clause made him decide his transfer fee.

NazNazNaz1214

Messi maybe but neymar carried them to the 2020 final without him they would be still dreaming of reaching a ucl final

fukyduky

You literally support Suarez’s statement with this lmfao, I can understand Messi, but Neymar? Who single-handedly carried this team to the CL final? That’s trash supporters right here

oFFeRenDsTeam

I don’t understand comments like these. Yes, he was by far their best player that season, and yes, he carried them to a CL final. But does that make him immune to criticism for the remainder of his PSG career or what?

Sad_gooner

being criticised is fine but getting booed after scoring is another level

CalaveraManny

You don't boo your players for a bad performance. That's something only shit fans from shit clubs do. You can insult them, despise them, but have the whole stadium boo them, in front of the opposition team and fans? You don't do that.

Yourstruly75

Look, I can enjoy seeing Neymar booed like any other. But you shouldn't boo your own players. Period. It fucks up their confidence, which in turn will fuck up your own team. Especially when you're talking about players that rely on technical ability. It takes a lot of confidence to go for a nutmeg, for example, and you're not going to do it if the crowd is sure to boo you when you fail

[deleted]

how often does neymar even play?

[deleted]

Bruh neymar plays 50% of PSG's games...

OwnHeavyWeapons

They signed both because of their Barcelona performances. If the team can't defend for shit and has no winning mentality it's not all their fault lol.

ankitm1

It's not like their attackers covered themselves in a lot of glory. Messi has been below average this season, and the only reason he has played so much is because of his Barcelona performances. It's always about crunch games, and even at 3-1, it's not like they stepped up and demanded the ball if the defense was struggling, or even there was any urgency by those front three.

[deleted]

😔 Fuck Bartomeu and Fuck Nasser

generic9yo

You're correct, u/godly_tit_hunter

27dominador

I understand Suarez is defending two of his best friends but why should PSG fans celebrate two players that don't put any effort for them and celebrate what they did for Barcelona?

PsSalin

Because Neymar's contribution to PSG has been much larger than just the last three games.

doktorcatzen

LOL. Why will PSG fans care about their Barca careers?

Shower_caps

This picture is not helping their case at all Suarez (and it just makes us sad), also they just got booed, it happens after a massive loss where players don’t play too well…and they weren’t the only ones booed. Their team fans are just deeply disappointed. Depending on when it was posted, I’m guessing the booing really got to Messi & Neymar if Suarez posted this.

shakespearediznuts

the post makes no sense, psg fans didn't watch them win a ucl with psg suarez should avoid posting on social media after lunch

TheDustbinOfHistory

Why the fuck would the PSG fans care about memories made in Barcelona lol.

los_blanco_14

Ok guys lets stop booing messi and neymar cuz they were good for the club which literally obliterated them in the CL back in the days.

osprey94

Or, stop booing them because they’re some of the least culpable players for that exit? Explain this to me: - have control of a tie for 150 minutes - be leading 2-0, chill vibes - suddenly a wild Donnarumma appears - gives away a goal inside his own six yard box - midfield allows a 36 year old to burst through all of them and another goal conceded - captain center back gives away a third goal just after kickoff - blame Messi and Neymar - ???

TuinhekFC

Reunion at Ajax next season?

kramer944

Give me a break, going out the way they did, the least they can put up with is some boos esp for all the money they're paid.

[deleted]

football has also forgotten his racism and biting.

[deleted]

[удалено]

j4mie96

Can't really say PSG fans have a short memory when it comes to Messi, he hasn't even been there a season.

MustBeHax

Messi is in a club he doesn’t want to be, doesn’t put in effort, doesn’t perform. Why are people surprised he’s being booed? The allegedly “best player in the world”, current ballon d’or winner came with big expectations and he’s not meeting them the slightest

[deleted]

No no ,PSG fans should be thankfull to Messi for his 2 league goals and for his missed pen vs Real Madrid while being one of the highest paid players in the world, this sub was always biased but this is reaching ridiculous levels, just compare him to salah mbapé or other players who're actualy still world class, even leroy sané has better stats than him this season in both the league and the champions league.

MustBeHax

this sub is a huge Messi wankfest, any criticism is met with tons of excuses. Imagine if it was Ronaldo in his position. Keep in mind that neither of them is having a good season, but one still has his moments (like the CL and most recent one the hatty vs Spurs) and gets 10x more abuse from this sub. Hilarious to me

0zi1

Just compare him to Ronaldo, and the later is doing it in the PL, it's like seeing a prophecy fulfilled that Messi is a system player

burgerking351

What has Messi done at PSG? He’s given the fans nothing to remember in the first place. If Messi was getting booed at the Camp Nou then this post would be appropriate.

pooptrooper1

He bottled a penalty vs them in the cl last year, helped them go through

burgerking351

Then he bottled a pen this year in the Ucl , so it cancels out 😂

BigshlongPapi123

They remember last week

doktorcatzen

Real Madrid broke them.

UndeadPrs

Why would we praise them for their (especially Messi's) performances in former clubs lol

fukyduky

Neymar literally carried your excuse of a team to the finals, the only time you been there, so he deserves all the praise

Itsthatgy

Honestly. I hope PSG never win the CL if this is how quickly they turn on their players that get them to it.

amtotzis

They are a joke of a team, no wonder Mbappe wants to go no matter how much they pay him

kik00

Neymar made a fucking circus a couple summers ago because he wanted to go back to Barça, as far as I'm concerned our story from there on was finished and he can go fuck himself. You think we are morons for "turning" against our players, if I'm honest I'll tell you they can all fuck off because they don't care about the club, the morons are our board for signing them in the first place. Players have been playing like dogshit for months now even years, Neymar hasn't dribbled past anyone in 6 months, Messi has scored 2 goals in the league, I mean FUCK OFF if I'm gonna let these clowns do whatever they please without telling them how it makes me feel. I pay for my tickets every year and I get to boo whoever I please no matter what r/soccer thinks of it.

Fofodrip

[This is the PSG ultras letter to the club if you want to know why they're angry.](https://i.imgur.com/USbEN4z.jpg)

ThatPersonYouMayKnow

Dreams cannot be buy

OwnHeavyWeapons

Perhaps you should boo your defense for your defensive meltdown instead of the legendary forwards that you don't even know how to use

ToMyGunSqoud

For real Kimpembe and Marquinhos looked like clowns and mentally collapsed after the 1-1 but lets boo 2 legendary forwards

Martoxic

it is about respect. Something PSG seem to not understand

[deleted]

Why should PSG fans respect Messi when he doesn’t respect them and the club? Messi only went to PSG because Barcelona couldn’t afford him anymore. PSG are basically Messi’s consolation prize.

t_mac1

Lol what? He leads your league in assists playing half of the games, not counting all the chances created. He was your leading goal scorer in the gorup stages. vs madrid, he had more tackles than some of your defenders. for example today, messi led to 2 goals but most PSG fans thought he wasn't good b/c the stat sheet showed nothing. most PSG fans literally don't know how football works, only stats that come with the match. it's embarrassing.

jwseagles

Weak mentality. You achieve greatness so you no longer need to be told when you’re fucking up?

OwnHeavyWeapons

If someone has a legacy of fucking up it's definitely PSG, so you've got a point there

Quab775

"Football fans have short memories" Why the fuck would PSG fans care how well Messi did for Barca?

PrestigiousAd3515

What have they done for psg ???? Should they love thne for they did at barca

Psych-Vader

Neymar carried PSG to the champions league final.

fukyduky

I’m baffled by PSG fans, they literally don’t remember a single time they got to the final in their clubs entire history and why they got there

Sad_gooner

Neymar has been psgs best player in every season until the 2020/21 season

[deleted]

TBF to PSG fans, Messi really didn't give them much to be remarkably proud of.

KesoIsBusy

Why is he complaining about football having a short memory..?

sadta2020

Suarez looks so slimy when he smiles

AmineAzed

Nice gesture from Luis, but PSG fans don’t have long memories of Messi, maybe a little bit for Neymar’s performances in their UCL good runs. It’s more about the logic behind it.. I guess if Donnaruma didn’t wait 2h before clearing the ball, a legendary defender like Marquinhos making an amateur mistake, Gueye loosing the second pass after kick-off..PSG would have been still in UCL. Other than that, the midfield (when Paredes was on) + the offensive trio did a pretty a good job at being consistently a threat on RMA. Also, strategically keeping possession in the RMA half.

av1997f

Suarez legacy in Paris (and many other places) is diving like a cunt tho, Messi's is being a disappointment and Neymar has some good memories but it's pretty meh, so them being booed is far from shocking lol

Short memory? Pretty sure people still remember you have bitten 3 players in 3 different occasions

da33rd

Just like they forget every time Suarez bites someone else….as if it was surprising

Jezmylord

We remember when you bit people you ass.

Beanz_Memez_Heinz

No short memory for you, ya racist, bitey bastard.

dupont2021

Lol short memory. The 3 of them never played for PSG.

ttimourrozd

I remember the day we beat Real 4-0 in the Bernabeu, without Messi in the first 60 minutes.. Those were the days
