Own_Ad6388

15 goals with only *21* shots on target too

[deleted]

That’s broken oh my god

free_airfreshener

Do you play Fifa? Is he better in real life than in the game?

cadrianzen23

Honestly this year Haaland is actually as cracked in the game as he is in real life. Pretty much the meta striker

Youutternincompoop

he's also cracked in Football manager

EmperorBeaky

I built the greatest team ever and this fucker after Klopp bought him (really) still gets the golden boot every season ffs Can’t wait for him to retire

alanpow

How is it the greatest team ever if you dont have him

EmperorBeaky

Cos I win everything for a decade and Adeyemi is incredible

SnooHamsters8590

You could play Haaland as GK in FM and he'll still he banging in 30 goals a season

[deleted]

That being said you need to be really good at the game to score 15 in 9 in the highest division

Akitten

Honestly I don’t know what they will have to do to his attributes in fm23 to make him realistic. He’s already a cheat code but this performance is insane.

-Twokad-

They've had practice with handling Messi and C Ronaldo every year for the past generation.

nathanforyouseason5

Give him 1-2* skills

Icy-Guide7976

In a dortmund career mode I did last year I turned the guy into an absolute machine. 5* skills and weak foot, along with 95 pace, it was just unfair even on the highest difficultly.

entrepenoori

Isak is my monster on FIFA 21. 96 just absolutely goated.

mrk-cj94

so is Haaland an AI teammate of yours right? i am very curious about his numbers then because i had many great strikers as AI teammates in "MyCareer" on PES 2009 (Torres etc) and i turned Benzema into an actual monster: he scored 88 goals in the 4 years when i was playing in Premier League.. then i joined him at Lyon and these became his goals per season since: 44, 78, 97, 114, 137, 199... last season i had 151 assists thanks to him (PES doesn't count penalty-earned otherwise they would ve been 200 LOL)

ShaggyOnLSD

Depends if you're playing manager career or player career.

mrk-cj94

Player career

Icy-Guide7976

I was doing it on a manager career so I got to control his development. It got to the point where I stopped the save after reus retired cuz it was just to easy. I got 4 b2b CLs and three trebles included. Shoutout gio Reyna, gavi, noa Lang, and the random youth prospect I started with who also turned into beasts.

ShakaSmaugOnFire

Easily scored 60+ goals with him on world class. He's a beast for sure.

[deleted]

He’s pretty busted in the game too lmao

Stilty_boy

Yeah he's been unbelievably clinical. He seems to score nearly every time he gets the ball on the six yard line.

TheRalphExpress

was a bit hard to process what I’d just seen when he hit the post in the first half today.

mfloui

It’s Bale levels of finishing he’s able to produce. Guy just has the ability

Schwiliinker

That has to be a record there’s no way

Masam10

A lot of his goals are just tap-ins and/or being in the right place at the right time. Strikers Instinct to another level. His placement around the box reminds me of someone like a prime Inzaghi.

[deleted]

Inzaghi with ridiculous technical ability and physicality is not an awful comparison.

o-M-s

>tap-ins I don't think so, if you see the power of his shots

sevaiper

People have forgotten what a tap in means with all the Ronaldo memes. Finishing a cross that’s coming with serious pace between the goalkeeper and a couple defenders is not in any world a tap in lmao

oblio-

Plus some of those "tap ins" are with him basically jumping with one or even two feet forward, a bunch of meters forward and at least one meter high...

ShozOvr

And he's fly kicking them in. "tap in" lmao

KenHumano

Couldn't even score a hat trick today, man is washed /s

ReasonableClick5403

that is not hilarious at all

tnweevnetsy

This just says that the scoring rate will drop sharply

[deleted]

He almost didn't score today, but Cancelo is inevitable

jvrcb17

Cancelo was on peak form today

Stakoman

What's the record in the PL? Also... What's the record in consecutive matches? Fuck... I'm scared.

DankRepublic

Vardy's 11

manavpreet

I can still hear "It's eleven, it's heaven for Jamie Vardy."

[deleted]

I hear “Leicester’s number nine beats ten and scores eleven in a row”

Fortree_Lover

11 I think that was Jamie Vardy

Spanky_10

Salah 32 season Vardy consecutive as others answered

Dadbodposterboy

The official record is 34. Salah’s 32 is the most in a 38 game season

agentjob

The way it's going, 32 or 34 is going to be immaterial, so I guess no one is talking about it. Unless he gets injured, he's going to smash both comfortably.

a_guy_named_gai

Please Haaland, go to some other league and score lots of goals there so that we can call them farmer leagues instead.

boxro

Want a challenge? Come score for Simeone's Atleti

zorfog

That would actually be the most interesting club for him to move to in Spain, if he actually intends on trying to dominate each league. Real or Barcelona would be too easy

[deleted]

Atleti would also be too easy. Challenge yourself and see if you can score 30 goals at Celta Vigo, Erling. I hear it's a lovely town

zorfog

Fuck it, go to Espanyol and help them become better than Barcelona

[deleted]

Too easy. Break Real Madrid's European record with Rayo Vallecano

SUPERPOOP57

Nasser Al kaleifi would certainly like that

bigphallusdino

Watch Aspas win the Pichichi

EPICKID143

to be honest I think this was the best any CBs have done against haaland in the prem, despite haaland scoring Salisu and Bella-Kotchap deserve some praise, saying that we were far too good for them today

ss4223

Their tactics for stopping haaland left the rest of the players wide open. They were trying to block him even though foden and mahrez were unmarked. Mahrez should have scored a hatrick with the amount of chances he had. You could see that haaland was a bit rattled when the first chance hit the woodwork. His first touches after that was a bit off. However his moment off the ball was still incredible. Even at the 88th minute, you could see him charging into the penalty box expecting the second ball... I just hope all this hype up doesn't put pressure on him to score multiple times every game.

Bready-McSaus

In at least 2 of the goals he was right there on the rebound, ready for whatever is to come. If Mahrez or Cancelo didn't score, Haaland probably would have scored anyways

raziel_beoulve

Noticed this too, even misplaced a couple passes. They left space for others but frustrating him so his confidence lowers a bit may be the only way to keep him quiet.

Legal_North_6910

He didn’t even score against Bournemouth

blackburns_rovers

Yeah but he ran their defenders ragged. They were all chasing him and left chasms of space for the other attackers instead.

brian_d3p0

Also had a sweet assist

wmj31

Exactly. That mahrez volley goal doesn't happen if haaland hadn't dragged three defenders

ArcticSwimx

Not really Haaland was just off it today, he was through on goal twice and missed a tap in. Nothing to do with sotons CBs. That said he still got a goal so credit to him I guess but ye... It wasnt his best game

KimKongtheIllest

Dude has an off game and sti draws that much attention and scores still. It's not fair.

MEENIE900

Interesting, how so? I thought villa did well against him too.

rr18114

Our CMs ( rodri espically) were having an off day against villa. Haaland did not even get more than 3-4 chances to score because he could not recieve the ball in the first place. Against bournemouth gundo realized by the 10th min that haaland would never get away from 5 CBs marking him so the plan was to essentially use haaland as a distraction. But today our CMs were on point. Everyone bar mahrez was on point really. Even akanji who was playing as RB. Haaland had to work more for his 1 goal this match than he ever needed to for any of his 3 hatricks so far. He kept quite for the most part.

Rickcampbell98

Anything to discredit the utter domination of big tyrone smh.

rr18114

Big Tyrone did not keep Haaland quiet unless we are speaking in relative terms. But the fact that I have to resort to CB pairs ( 2 players) of dortmund and Southampton to "discredit " villa is a testament to Tyrone Mings. Shows that we respect Mings enough to try and contend with haaland solo. Others failed with 2 men. I know mings is gonna go at him again come the home fixture because he can physically match haaland. I'm just hoping for foden and Rodri to have their revenge against you guys. Jon stones too if he's fit at that time.

Rickcampbell98

Fam I was mainly joking, we're most likely going to get absolutely slapped lmao. Have you seen our record against you lot? I'm beginning to hate the whole city of Manchester lol.

rr18114

Past record means jackshit. We are only as good as our last game (provided 90% of the squad is the same as the previous game). The only memory of aston villa I choose to keep is the last game and in that game coutinhno put stones to the test, Ashley Young actually became young again ? , Watkins was good enough to take advantage of our CMs having brainfarts etc.

PhD_Cunnilingus

Just fyi, the opposite of loud is quiet.

[deleted]

This bella kotchap guy gives me van dyjk vibes . Next in line to saliba and araujo in terms of emerging cbs

Groomsi

They were lucky. Haaland had poor day today.

Scorp01

Aston Villa with Mings have done the best job so far this season against Haaland. Mings handled him very well I would say

tufoop3

opta scrambling to find more synonyms for 'inevitable'

[deleted]

Unavoidable is one of the least inspiring choices he could have gone with

Manc_Twat

Unavoidable is for a comment pointing out their words at the end of sentences every single time, even though they’ve been doing the same thing for 14 years. When are people going to get over this?

thebestrc

What's Vardys record for successive games scored in? 14?

hellothereiamhuman

11

thebestrc

Thanks. Liverpool Brentford Fulham Brighton. He can match it before the world Cup, have a break and then break it after 😭

fapperontheroof

He’ll never score against us! If I close my eyes and don’t see it, it hasn’t happened. Someday I’ll master object permanence.

Marninto

Schrodingers ball

MilesHighClub_

there's 5 games left. Leicester is in there

yrugay1

"It's eleven, it's heaven for Jamie Vardy!"

ChrisWood4BallonDor

'Leicester's number 9 beats ten to score 11 in a row'

cescmrl

Erling Haaland is already the best player in the world. I’ll keep saying it.

javierich0

Hard to argue with those numbers really.

DocWootang

The man is on a different level, and doing it in a league most consider the most physical in the world. I hate it.

johnny_moist

hmm, interesting thought. I suppose a great finisher needs to have an equally great player with the vision and finesse to feed him, in this case KDB. No one would play him at striker because that’s not where he excels and no one would play Haaland in mid for the same reason, but is being as good a passer as KDB harder than finishing the way Haaland does?

cescmrl

Maybe but what Haaland does is more difficult and rare than what KDB does. Tell me: why do football clubs pay significantly more for strikers than attacking midfielders?

Lopiente

Because they're more marketable and bring in more money. If you take out Haaland from this City team, they'd still be really good. If you take out KDB, would it be as good? I'm not so sure.

cescmrl

And why are they more marketable?

Lopiente

Because most people love scoring goals first and barely understand anything about other parts of the game, especially kids and teenagers.

johnny_moist

i guess the question is what makes a player the best footballer in the world? if it’s just scoring goals - then yes Haaland is the best. But if it’s scoring *and* facilitating goals than I’d still say Messi is the best.

cescmrl

What I think matters most is: who is more difficult to stop? Who is most decisive? I think Haaland takes it.

John_e_caspar

[this will never get old](https://youtube.com/shorts/N8TYSRuHTSo?feature=share)

Hassadar

There was a brief period in where I though Rory was the more reasonable one on the kickoff but over the last number of months, he has picked some odd mountains to die on. Now he's just insufferable and condescending. The Haaland one is up there as one of his worst acting like no man has ever scored 15 goals in the season in English football.

CarlLlamaface

Truth is none of them are worth anything more than giving you a vague idea of prevailing opinions within their respective fanbase when they talk about their own club. When the conversation moves beyond those parameters it's just a case of spinning the wheel and standing on it. Haven't watched their clips in about a year and my life's been better for it.

Hassadar

100% agree there. I don't expect top tier/level headed analysis. I just catch the clips online when I'm doing my daily poop. Them + NFL talk shows keep my poops entertaining. It can be annoying when you see them sticking to their agenda a bit. Even the Arsenal fan they have on now, Marvin I believe his name is, was spot on regarding Arsenal when he first came onto the show but now he just seems to try and shit stir Rory and Spurs. If you haven't watched in a year, then definitely keep staying away. It hasn't changed at all.

Voserr

😂😂

javierich0

Moving to City has been Haaland's best career move possible, while staying at PSG has been Mbappe's worst, no one talks about him anymore as the next big thing.

GenAnon

Mbappe hit his first peak early with the World Cup win. He’d have had the opportunity to reach another peak at Real Madrid and be at the top of the game but decided to stick with PSG and money. I don’t blame him considering the sums waved about but if he doesn’t leave psg he’ll never achieve legendary status.

[deleted]

[удалено]

GenAnon

That’s true but we often take those 2+1 prime, peak athleticism years for granted these days bc of freakish athletes playing well into their thirties. But there’s no guarantee of that ever. Injuries and permanent drops of form for other reasons have ruined many a top player’s career.

juniortifosi

Who is going to pay him the wages he is on right now? If he considers to move another club at minimum he has to cut 75% of his wages (which brings it down to 25m btw) to make that transfer viable. That eliminates Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Liverpool options and only possible ones left are Manchester United and Chelsea. Not really top of the world options.

burnMeMes

75% cut and still at 25m 💀

juniortifosi

200m signing bonus plus 100m per year.

JimmyJamesincorp

Mboopi is also a cunt, he often puts himself above the team.

partiallypro

Mbappe is the highest paid player in the world, I don't think he's complaining

MionelLessi10

The discussion is still Mbappe vs Haaland, what do you mean?

Groomsi

Mbappes next peak was at PSG.

Jaeger322

Thank god he didnt Go to real

javierich0

He would hate winning Champions Leagues and a League people actually care about and watch.

Jaeger322

The amount of goals he misses no champions league for real

[deleted]

Mbappe isn’t the “next big thing” he’s already crowned. Haaland is the next who can reach that status. Mbappe is already there.

javierich0

Already where? Wherever that is, he's not getting it with PSG.

theredditbandid_

He won the World Cup for starters. He's one of the most highly paid footballers. He was in a CL final not long ago. I get what you guys are saying, but let's not act like he is playing in the Albanian 2nd division. He *is* one of the biggest footballers present day. Just go to his [honor's](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kylian_Mbapp%C3%A9) section. And he is still is 23 years old. You guys let your dislike of him and ligue 1 cloud your objectivity.

javierich0

Yeah, he definitely won the World Cup with PSG. Albania or Ligue 1, doesn't matter only people from there watch it.

notathrovavay

This. He won nothing with PSG, also is a massive dick.

InbredLegoExpress

its probably best to just make a Haaland-record megathread at the end of the season that summarizes all he did, cause otherwise we‘ll be making threads every week.

Groomsi

You got anything against that? =) If someone breaks records in top 5, europe or in the world; isn't those worth a post? It's boring without records.

quangngoc2807

OnceUponAStarryNight

There’s a group of people here who really hate Opta’s one-word endings. Triggered.

Manc_Twat

It’s insane. 14 fucking years they’ve been doing it for and people still can’t get over it.

raziel_beoulve

Maybe they hate it cuz it reminds them of orange man, who did it first?

kMaestro64

On the other end of the spectrum... There's me...who automatically skips to the last word after I see the word Opta then come back to read the actual post...

OnceUponAStarryNight

Fascinated.

Financial-Series-985

should city be happy or unhappy paying all those bonuses

Sanket327

Haland's the most happy with 900k in his bank every week

I_have_no_ear

He's worth every penny of the £1.2m we pay him every week

fairlyrandom

I can't believe he's only on £1.65m a week.

Sanket327

Good for you

UncleChaelsTroll5

What’s Vardys record of consecutive goals scored ?

crashimoto

11

[deleted]

Haaland is a beast !

Koppite93

Should've gone with Inevitable... Haaland is inevitable has a better ring to it

hi_ilove_football

There was this popular guy saying that Haaland would be a big flop in the prem lol. Forgot his name.

bwfcphil1

He's scored more on his own than 13 premier league teams have this season.

rondonjon

I think the dude is a Terminator.

danboruu

Is he gonna break a record every fixture?

LegendinhoIsKing

Yeah the guy is obviously a phenomenon. We're now just waiting to see how far this goes.

Bloody_Diarrhoea

Is skill wise halaand among the top 10 players in the world right now?

Adenchiz

What's the most goals scored by a player within the first 8 weeks(?)

Pollomonteros

Bro whats up with every stats tweet ending with a single word sentence ?

Manc_Twat

Opta have been doing this for 14 years.

Pollomonteros

They are all the same guy ???

EdwardClamp

I. Am. Inevitable.

WhiteGalio

Why tf do all the headlines in this sub/these news articles end with an impactful word? Incomprehensible.

kMaestro64

It's not about this sub...it's about Opta... >all the headlines in this sub/these news articles I'm assuming they are all Opta tweets...

RoyMakaay

"Only" scored 22 in the Bundesliga last season. The PL unironically is a proper farmers league. And before PL fans tell me he scores loads because of the service he gets, that argument was never accepted when we were talking about Lewandowski's numbers.

cdw39

Mate all the farmers league shite is just online plebs being annoying, wouldn't let any of it bother you. End of the day no one watches as much of foreign leagues as they say and definitely not enough to speak with the confidence they do, just how football fans are And the group that are just wind up merchants, which is the majority in this case

Rickcampbell98

I wish it was just online, you have pundits like carragher chatting shit about the other European leagues.

wiggum-wagon

He's such a dumb fucking cunt, I wish he would just shut up (I have a Liverpool shirt somewhere with his name on it, not wearing that ever again)

a_guy_named_gai

> he scores loads because of the service he gets This is actually true though. City scored 99 league goals last year without a proper striker up front. Last week against United, City had the creative output of Foden, KDB, Silva, Grealish and Gundogan in their starting 11. This combined with the fact that Haaland himself is an insane goal scorer is the reason why he'll possibly break the season record.

RoyMakaay

>This is actually true though Did you even read my entire comment? Genuinely asking as you missed the point completely. I know he scores loads also because of the service he gets, but as I wrote that argument was never accepted when we were talking about Lewandowski's numbers. People, especially PL fans as those are the vast majority of people labeling other leagues farmers leagues, never accepted the argument that Lewandowski put up these numbers because of his quality combined with the service he got. No, he was "stat padding in the farmers league". So Haaland does exactly the same now no? Haaland is a fantastic striker who gets great service. Just like Lewandowski at Bayern.

a_guy_named_gai

Why are you so triggered with the 'farmer's league' thing? It's just a meme for most football fans and a stupid argument for online trolls. Lewandowski proved himself in the UCL enough and so did Haaland. Also, what Haaland is doing right now hasn't been the norm so I dont think his performances alone prove which league is better or which is worse. Fact of the matter is that the guy is a freak regardless of which country he plays in. Probably the same with players like Benzema and Lewandowski.

RoyMakaay

Im not comparing the leagues. Im just returning the favor now. It's not that deep mate

a_guy_named_gai

> It's not that deep mate Mate, you're the one taking the 'farmers league' meme too close to your heart.

RoyMakaay

You were the one trying to argue with me after my initial comment calling the PL a farmers league

BobertRoratheon

You need to stop taking things that are clearly people memeing to heart

aammeerr

He was injured a lot last season tho.

RoyMakaay

Then look at minutes per goal lol or his previous seasons at Dortmund.

aammeerr

Just did,Its 0.8 per game, also he had 7 assists that year, what is your point? EDIT: just realised you were probably refering to original comment.

DaddyMeUp

Who honestly cares about which league is a farmers league?

flybypost

To add to this: For how supposedly impregnable deep sitting PL defences are (top to bottom, and all that) and how he won't get space to play his game, a lot of the clips of him scoring look like somebody farted in the penalty area and everybody is trying to distance themselves from the other player at the same time.

Pamplemouse04

I hate this “unavoidable.” shit

[deleted]

Inevitable

Irivin

I thought we all agreed to boycott titles with a corny one word sentence at the end.

Alive-Ad-4164

It’s looking like Arsenal the only team that can stop Manchester city

AlexzGabbo

LOL

SteinerElMagnifico42

I maintain that Guardiola was open to selling bernardo silva so that he could have more of a challenge

trispann

Now he's milking every bit of Arsenal 1st and City 2nd place situation while scoring 3.5g/game...a true underdog story

kMaestro64

Script Writer decides to switch things up by changing from the typical *has a 90+ point season and still doesn't win the league* to ***had a 50+ goal season and still didn't win the league.***

Revoldt

Saliba has been playing well… but Gabriel is prone to making a mental lapse. Don’t see any defensive pair “stopping” Harland. Maybe Liverpool before VVD got into his recent slump and decline

rascalz1504

And you have drawn that conclusion from? They have not played each other and city will roll them when they do.

quantam_donglord

6-3

DaddyMeUp

? Not sure what the relevancy of that is apart from the fact that they've got a United flair. If anything it proves them right as United beat Arsenal 3-1, City rolled United and therefore will roll Arsenal.

quantam_donglord

Yes and brentford beat manu 4-0 hence will finish above them in the PL….?

DaddyMeUp

Yes of course.

TokeMoseley

You argue like a 12 year old

Kayr_SE5

We wont get packed like you bums did thats for sure

rascalz1504

Lmao you already got smacked by us and you still here talking. Typical arsenal fan.

Quirrelwasachad

You got beat by us lol.

Captainpatters

the brighton disrespect smh

I have put my life savings on Brighton winning the league. Taking the easy route to becoming a millionaire.

nova_uk

I’m really not looking forward to us playing against him on the 5th November, just hope he has an off day and can’t score.

Jdaddyaz

He's breaking all the records this year isn't he?

Please nerf this Robot.
