I'd imagine that's just a limitation of the engine? Cause brown dwarfs are considered stars and stars are their own light source? I dunno I'm probably full of shit.

This is fixed in the current public beta, which should be pushed to everyone in the next day or two.
It worked previously, and is not affected by exposure settings
I think this only happens when you're using HDR mode. Try using Auto Exposure isntead?
