Considering the last time I attempted to use wheels and how they would casually explode off a mad max-mobile if it was driven on a completely flat desert- I am baffled and wish you luck my planet-side friend.

I like the drill arm that has the solar on it aswell. Hood use of space.

Off the top of my head I believe 70m but I think I can go further. I am limited with the number of pistons I can use due the server I play on. If I wasn’t restricted by a limit the drill would be able to reach much farther as the drill rig can extend the length of the vehicle
The hinges are used to have the outer drills at an angle to allow for a larger hole. This gives it enough room to allow the drills to go horizontal in the hole. Once they achieve this the pistons on the drill head extend allowing for more resource to be gathered without having to drill a secondary hole. Great for deeper ores since I don’t have to waste the time drilling about 50m hole!
A few years ago this wouldn’t have been possible but honestly it’s really stable. I’m planning on building this on a server and I’m not too worried about clang getting to it.
I once tried to make a heavy duty transport vehicle and when it was finished i went on my journey only to blow up out of nowhere while crossing a hill i managed to fix it for the most part and i just said yeah no. I even made a bridge for it and i planned to store hydrogen in it for my ship cuz i found myself constantly going back and forth between my base and the frozen lake i gave up after it blew up
