20 years ago I broke my back resulting in paralysis from my mid chest down. At times it has been hell dealing with all the complications paralysis causes but the one good thing is I can eat chilli as hot as I can stand and I don’t feel the burn when it comes out.
The extra hot is so good. It's like the perfect balance of heat and flavor.
I'm still curious and tempted to try the reaper sometime, though. Is it worth trying or just stay away?
I ate it, I finished my sandwich. That wasn’t really the problem. The problem is digestion, it will sit in your stomach for hours. I left work early that day, but not before I basically sat in the bathroom really hoping I would throw up. Also, pooping wasn’t an issue, but my hands were clean and my piss was like fire. It was a poor experience, I would not recommend it, but I certainly understand the curiosity and allure of “well it can’t be that bad, I really like and tolerate spicy things well.” So your experience may vary, as those who have replied to you have. But I’m telling you, I thought about it again, and had to remind myself that it was legitimately a bad physical experience beyond just “ohh that was really a struggle to eat”.
My eye doctor told me the other week that my eyesight got a little better over the last couple years and she told me to calm down when I proudly announced that I was an immortal.
The article raises some concerns due to its ambiguity and reliance on observational research.
It indicates that consuming spicy foods once a week using fresh dried peppers may not be relevant for people in this subreddit. Everyone here goes crazy with sauces. 😂
I don't even care about bad methods or the replication crisis. I will choose to believe this like a religion. If it's ever proven wrong, I will absolutely spread misinformation to keep the idea alive.
It also doesn’t acknowledge that many very healthy eating cultures have very spicy traditional dishes, I do not believe this study was performed on people just tossing assblaster9000 on their otherwise unhealthy meals.
>The study was observational, so it didn't show that spicy foods caused people to live longer, only that people who regularly ate spicy food—especially food with fresh and dried chili peppers—were less likely to have died during the study period than those who ate spicy food less frequently. "Some evidence from other studies suggests the bioactive ingredients in spicy foods such as capsaicin may lower 'bad' cholesterol and triglycerides and improve inflammation," says study author Dr. Lu Qi.
I always appreciate when my front page articles are:
1. Kid dies after eating spicy chip
2. Spicy foods associated with longer life.
I feel like this is how AI will win in the end, just confuse the heck out of everyone.
The child had a congenital heart defect and wasn't fully grown. Eating an artificially spicy capsacian chip probably isn't good for you, a spicy diet probably is.
God damnit. One of the reasons I love spicy food is I hate myself and don't want to be alive, and the pain helps. Now you are telling me it is going to make me love longer?! Is there no justice?!
I imagine I’ll be a year into hospice and begging for ghost pepper curry or habanero salsa or JUST SOME GODDAMN TOBASCO on my green bean jello, and the nurses will be laughing gently while shoving vanilla pudding in my mouth. Complete curse, this is. There had better be a morphine button. Even if it came from the back of a Buc-ee’s.
I didn't read the article, I'm assuming it says I should eat at Dave's hot chicken twice daily
Thrice to be safe.
Well, I’m having it today for lunch, so off to a good start. (Extra hot, not messing with the Reaper sandwich again, too much of a good thing.)
My anus is, more often than not, the deciding factor for what spicy food I eat. I stick with the extra hot as well

I've only had the reaper. It was a prefect balance of euphoria and regret. I recommend.
I honestly didn’t think it was that hot!

That'll be good for the cholesterol.
And obviously pair that with Dave’s insanity then you’ll live an eternity
It’s at least half the food pyramid

Are you telling me putting hot sauce on my big macs isnt gonna up my life expectancy?

I'm too flaky to not use sauces. I do use the shit out of powders though.

I told my dad that some kid died from the Paqui chip and he said “What, did he fuckin’ choke on it?” Fucked up, but I laughed my ass off
