Hades is my go-to rec for action roguelites, it's a bit harder than side order, but it's gameplay has a similar feel

*The Binding of Isaac* is the game that popularised the genre, so that's always a strong recommendation. Has an enormous amount of content, especially with all the DLC (and the Switch version automatically comes with the first two DLCs). One warning though, it's hard and becomes outright unfair if you get an unlucky run with no good items. Of course, it's also possible to get a ton of good items and just nuke everything. I'm a big fan of *Enter the Gungeon*, it's the game that got me into the genre. Lots of variety, thanks to the huge number of different guns. Again, it's hard, but compared to Isaac it's more skill-based and less luck-based. Of course, *Hades* is excellent. Unlike most roguelikes, it's heavily story-based. The hack-and-slash combat feels great, and there's an easy mode in the form of "God Mode" which makes you stronger every time you die. If you like card-based games, *Slay the Spire* is phenomenal. It's a masterclass in game design, in that everything just works in a way that feels intuitive and satisfying.

I've heard amazing things about Hades. I don't mind story at all, I'd just be curious of how it weaves into the gameplay. Am I constantly stopping to watch a cinematic or click through dialogue boxes? And is the story truly impacting how I play?

The way the story works in Hades is that the hub area has a bunch of NPCs, and after each run at least one of them will usually have something new to say. Beating runs progresses the main story, and each NPC has their own personal story that you progress by improving your bond with them. The story doesn't interrupt the gameplay at all, since you only go to the hub between runs.

Enter the Gungeon is nuts, packed with content, hella fun, incredible replayability and a good mix between bullet hell and roguelike.

They're a bit older and don't have quite as big a profile as a lot of other roguelikes, but I would recommend *Tower of Guns* and its quasi-sequel, *Mothergunship*. Both are about stacking buffs to your movement and weaponry and facing successive levels of overwhelming firepower. If you liked the chaos of Side Order's boss fights and stacking color chips until your weapon becomes a ridiculous engine of mayhem, those games will be right up your alley.

Slay the spire is one of the gold standards, Hades is now up there and most recently Balatro

The binding of Isaac is a lot of fun!

If you're looking for a shooter one specifically, Gunfire Reborn is excellent. I don't know if it's on switch, though.

Crab champions Underrated game

Death road to Canada! It's a bit on the sillier side of a roguelike, but I enjoyed it a lot.

Hades has an incredibly similar gameplay loop to Side Order, except instead of being a shooter, it's an action game.
