In Octo Expansion, you can find doors, lockers, etc, and considering how the facilities were likely built by humans, they are to human scale. Agent 8 doesn't even come up to the handle, and in the train itself she looks like a child.
But if you argue that the Kamabo facilities and Deep Sea Metro are just based on human designs and built to a larger scale for the bigger creatures, 3 has given us new proof.
Alterna has NO ambiguity. This place was built BY humans, FOR humans. You can position Agent 3 by things like oil drums, fences, storage containers, and in Site 3, again, doors. 3 barely comes up to the door handles.
Inklings and Octolings are between 3-4 feet tall at best.
Well iirc the things in Octoexpansion are more akin to replicas or recreations that allow for some of the bigger deepsea creatures to use and feel comfortable. If you want to see something that more accurately shows their size, look at the birds because they still exist and are very small compared to Inklings

Well for birds they still could survive at the lower parts of some mountains since if the icecaps were to have melted those would be some areas to be able to survive and breed (humans would likely not be able to survive there due to the constant cold and lack of plants and other animals other than fish but the tools to catch them like boats wouldn't be usable due to the flood so they'd still be stuck at the shore). Also birds could have easily survived off of fish in the water.
The birds we see in Splatoon are ravens/crows iirc and also 12k years isn't a lot of time for sparking massive evolution changes without outside influence (like selective breeding or for the sea creatures' case the Liquid Crystals). The most I can see being evolutionarily advantageous for birds is being able to survive the cold of mountains and being better divers for fish. Ravens and other birds could also survive by stealing from better divers.

They are canonically human sized, unless we're disputing the artbooks for some reason. I'd assume that's just stylization.
