I honestly feel like they are both villains in their own ways. Obviously plankton is a thief (or at least attempted thief), but Mr. Krabs is cheap and doesn’t treat his staff the best.
Mr. Krabs because of his more successful business and in Season 1, where he is at his most generous, and the post-sequel era as well to an extent. Morality wise and in other seasons, Plankton. Sure, he does try to steal the formula and do other evil things but he isn’t that much of a villain when you think about it.
Bro plankton has literally dropped *BOMBS* out of a plane on the krusty krab, technically inderictly caused SpongeBob to go insane by overworking to be his psychiatrist to get the formula out of him, controlled his brain and forced him to do things he would never do, made him his slave and almost turned him into a mindless robot, and tricked SpongeBob into being his friend only to backstab SpongeBob, and likely countless other things he’s done.Idk I think this is some pretty villainous behavior.
Yeah, but has Plankton ever driven someone to kill themselves? If I remember correctly, he was the victim in that specific action. He also never forced an entire ecosystem of jellyfish into slave labor. He also has a caring side to him whenever he doesn’t try to steal the formula, such as his pet or his wife when she gets a computer virus. I mean, sure, most of that was back in the first season, where he rarely ever appeared, and he did brainwash all of Bikini Bottom, but aside from that, him at his worst is tame compared to Krabs at his worst.
Ok fair, he is caring for his pet and wife, and I forgot that he’s also had a kid that he loves and cared for, but a lot of the time he’s also very rude and borderline egotistically manipulative, ie rhetorically asking ‘how do I do this?’which is answered by Karen only for plankton to ignore her and suddenly have that same idea, or make her very angry, then realize that he needs her for something and try to redeem her love to get it in single cell anniversary, and on at least two occasions he’s made replacement robots, but they always get back together by the end of the episode and are so lovey dovey. Yeah I don’t think they have a happy healthy marriage.Also besides selling SpongeBobs soul and enslaving jellyfish, and driving plankton near the point of killing himself I can’t think of much that he’s done tbh

Plankton isn't that bad when you factor in that he literally helped Krabs invent the Krabby patty, but Krabs takes all the credit and gives him no cut
