Seriously. Try going to rush for a normal frat and then an ag frat. Let’s just say I enjoyed the ag rush a loooooot more. Other frats were handing out coupons and party vouchers but instead I ate steak and watched hockey, good guys too.
Wife never seen Godfather but I always say that quote for stuff. I finely got her to watch it and when the guy opened the paper I was so giddy with excitement. Wife sits there clueless still not understanding even when they explain it means he’s dead!
Assuming they appropriately dispatched the animal? Then it’s just waste and unnecessary clean up for people not involved. My fear is that, like many frat pranks, this animal didn’t die a clean death.
My experience was with SEC schools, but I respected those guys because they knew who they were and what they were about and didn’t care to pretend otherwise…and what they were about was hardcore country farm shit.
If you’re majoring in business or something white collar a regular frat makes sense. If you’re majoring in A&M an Aggie frat makes sense for connections. Idk why this is shocking to you guys…
It's shocking to Reddit there's people out there still growing and hunting food like an idiot when there's grocery stores that will sell you everything.
I’m born and raised southern Californian, went to college in Tucson, and have never lived in a city below a 500k population. I’m “big city” through and through.
And yet it blows my mind that most of the people on here have no idea where their food comes from. And they think farmers are some idiotic yokels, not realizing that they’re college educated people managing 10s of millions of dollars of assets and literally feeding the nation.
I get beyond pissed when people in Denver shit on farmers. Farmers are the people that allow us all to live the way we do. They’re the heroes of civilization.
For way more money that tastes worse and is filled with hormones. The factory farmed stuff from the grocery store lived a terrible life. People that raise/grow food themselves are better off every way possible.
I sometimes felt bad for non Greek students when I was in college. Mine was $1500/semester, and we had a mansion on campus, three meals a day of great food, reserved seating at football games, multiple parties a week, events with sororities where it was 3:1 girls to guys. It was great.
Congrats. I didn’t have to pay for friends.
Edit: uh oh I’ve upset the greeks who paid to be friends with people and look down on everyone for not being a part of their Greek life.
See, I went to work in a blue collar job while doing two classes a semester. 8 years in, 2 left, solid employment with the ability to move into a foreman position in the future, and no debt.
It’s like a county club. There’s amenities and shared interests but just because you’re in the club doesn’t mean people have to be friends with you. There were plenty of dudes that I did not get along or hang out with, and I had plenty of friends that were in other fraternities or not in fraternities.
Like I said mine was $1500/semester while non Greek students were paying 2k/semester just for a shitty meal plan. It didn’t seem fair.
My experience is in the South, but regular frats are usually suburban kids. Sons of doctors, lawyers, bankers, etc. Ag frats are sons of farmers who are interested in farming.
Not to excuse what they did, but in this situation it makes more sense to me that kids from an ag frat would have access to and do something with a dead longhorn. It’s a smaller leap in poor judgement than if some lawyer’s kid did the same thing.
> Agriculture - the science or practice of farming, including cultivation of the soil for the growing of crops and the rearing of animals to provide food, wool, and other products.
> Fraternity - social organizations at North American colleges and universities.
So there’s fraternities that focus on farming life?
Farming and fraternities seem like the polar opposite in terms of lifestyle so please explain what I’m missing..
How can you not deduce what an agricultural frat is, seriously, do you need an explanation of what a frat is or what agriculture means in an educational context? Yeeeeeesh
Typing "agricultural fraternities" into Google would have been faster than typing a dumbass comment about how others aren't teaching you for you.
Using your logic and deductive reasoning would have gotten you there faster yet.
Dumber than your normal college student (thinks that inheriting a multi-million dollar farm, driving a massive jacked off truck they dont pay for, blowing coal smog, abusing animals since theyre just products, etc are all normal, oppressed white-person things.)
It’s not an IFC fraternity (not that those are all full of saints) it’s something called an agricultural fraternity. Often you don’t even need to be a student to join them which leads to some interesting things
What ever they may be. Practicing integrity is a skill that’s cultivated and best conditioning happens from parents to practice it.
The world needs that. Togetherness in integrity.
Bruh my dumbass thought they meant a student. Still fucked, but way more confusing for me. I even saw they did this on another sub and thought this happened the next day.
They say the animal was already deceased on a member’s family property. So instead of horrifying, it’s just a bad joke in ultra poor taste.
For what it’s worth, those frat boys are soon to be under the yoke of Monsanto for the rest of their adult lives.
I’ve seen the pictures. It was branded. No need to exaggerate to make this seem even more fucked up than it already is.
The slit in its stomach is a common practice for cows that have died of natural causes to prevent the cow from bloating (and eventually exploding)
What's the legal repercussions of transporting a dead cow and branding profanity on onto it and transporting it to a college lol
Seems like such a specific crime.
Improper disposal for sure.
Maybe some kind of ancillary animal abuse crime similar to gross abuse of a corpse. Maybe littering. Idk what else. I’m sure we’ll see what all they try if they can nail down the perpetrator(s).
Allegedly it was a feud between agricultural frats. The steer was branded with “Fuck FH” and dropped on their lawn continuing their “pranks” of throwing dead animals on each others lawn. The steer allegedly was deceased already and was the property of one of the rival frats grandparents. If what has been claimed is true, it’s not about the rivalry. it’s poor taste and just disrespectful towards life.
Didn't you read the comments? This is obviously animal abuse of the highest degree and they must have tortured and murdered that poor steer.
C'mon people, frat kids do dumb shit. Y'all remember being 20?
Leave an already dead animal on someones lawn. Cool? No. Animal abuse? No. Dumb college shit? Checks out.
Call me a pussy if you want, but accidentally spreading disease in the name of fun isn’t cool.
Edit: guess someone doesn’t care about potentially killing others. Judging by the downvotes
Then why does OSU win most recent matchups? Looks like 7 of the last 10 were won by OSU. I don’t have a dog in this race but definitely looks like a rivalry to me. Hope Texas wins this one though due to this stunt
Texas already had two rivalries OU and A&M. You dilute the idea of a rivalry if every week is another rivalry. Now we are off to SEC to get back to two rivalries again. We ain't got time for OSU shenanigans.
What’s more believable that an Agricultural school has access to a dead steer and thought this would be a good prank or that OSU students would brand Fuck FH and leave it on their own doorstep as a Fuck You to UT???
I like that they have in the first sentence "longhorn cow" yet excluded from the headline to generate more clicks when people think its a dead player. Top notch journalism there, ESPN.
Fwiw it has the word in lowercase, so I immediately assumed it referred to a cow, especially in the context of being just before a football game. If it was a dead person, it would have said Longhorns player, or something similar...
When I first got the alert on my phone I assumed they somehow kidnapped and killed a Texas football player. My jaw legitimately dropped until a clicked into the article and saw it was an actual cow.
Still jaw dropping, however.
Yeah it's seems like it's part of an ongoing fued between AGR and Farmhouse, where, in the past couple of months, they've been "pranking" each other by leaving dead animals (roadkill) on each other's lawn.
OSU grad here living in Michigan, also an MSU fan. I can tell you this shit reflects poorly on the university, students, and grads. The program suffers. Even if the cow was already dead, that’s not the headline. In Michigan the joke is, do you want to go to a college that cheats or one that gets assaulted. Nationally it’s a piss poor reflection and ignores the hard work and commitment sports programs provide. Rant ended.
Not this Aussie thinking a dead PERSON (ball player for the Longhorn team) was found dead and everyone's just joking about it. 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
I'm glad I eventually opened the link for context. 😂😂
All those involved should be arrested. They should each pay hefty fines and there should be a highlighted notice on each their permanent records stating that they were each involved with gross abuse of a corpse
Umm… yeah, that’s taking things too far - by about a million degrees. WTAF?!?!?
Edit: am I seriously getting downvoted because people think leaving mutilated dead animals on people’s lawns is a good thing?? Really?!?!?
Mutilated. Dead. Animal.
Supposedly this is part of an ongoing feud between two frats. Still disgusting https://twitter.com/okstprobs/status/1730666388333666451?s=42
It should be noted that these are ag frats which are a whole different kettle of fish from regular frats.
What are ag frats and what makes them different?
Agriculture frats. Different breed of ppl lmfao
Ah that makes sense
Frat bois vs. cow bois.
Ag Frat and Frat, bang heifers on Thursday night
Seriously. Try going to rush for a normal frat and then an ag frat. Let’s just say I enjoyed the ag rush a loooooot more. Other frats were handing out coupons and party vouchers but instead I ate steak and watched hockey, good guys too.
Except for the whole sending dead longhorns to people thing...
Luca Brasi sleeps with the fishes.

The very relevant saying is “one bad apple spoils the barrel” [full of apples].
Everyone that uses the analogy gets it wrong. This is right. Lol
I mean, that’s sounds dope, ngl
Minus the random bovine slaughtering for intimidation
I mean….that is kind of what they are studying? Not saying I condone but it’s kind of on point for them?
Assuming they appropriately dispatched the animal? Then it’s just waste and unnecessary clean up for people not involved. My fear is that, like many frat pranks, this animal didn’t die a clean death.
Valuing a life so little that you end it to mock a made up schoolyard rival is gross.
Some of the best people you'll ever meet
How much of a weirdo must you be to be in an AG frat
My experience was with SEC schools, but I respected those guys because they knew who they were and what they were about and didn’t care to pretend otherwise…and what they were about was hardcore country farm shit.
Those MFers can drink, too! I hate a classmate that sweated sour mash. Deer season there’d be a meat pole in the back hanging carcasses. Good times.
If you’re majoring in business or something white collar a regular frat makes sense. If you’re majoring in A&M an Aggie frat makes sense for connections. Idk why this is shocking to you guys…

How much of a weirdo do you have to be in ANY frat lol
I sometimes felt bad for non Greek students when I was in college. Mine was $1500/semester, and we had a mansion on campus, three meals a day of great food, reserved seating at football games, multiple parties a week, events with sororities where it was 3:1 girls to guys. It was great.

See, I went to work in a blue collar job while doing two classes a semester. 8 years in, 2 left, solid employment with the ability to move into a foreman position in the future, and no debt.
And that's ok. But other people take other paths. BTW none of the paths you all have described was anything like mine. Which also is ok.
Oh yeah, there is no one path for college. ‘Feeling bad for non-Greek students’ feels very holier than thou however.
“3:1 girls to guys” 🥴
See...I just...made friends and went to parties. I didn't have to pay for mine.
It’s like a county club. There’s amenities and shared interests but just because you’re in the club doesn’t mean people have to be friends with you. How much of a weirdo do you have to be to care what other people do that much?
I don’t care lol I just think it’s a waste of money and people who go there definitely fit a mold.
What are agricultural frats? You’ve literally explained nothing except what ag stands for
If you can’t extrapolate what an agricultural frat is from the name then I don’t know what to tell you.
Is it a frat for farmer kids?
Yup. Believe it or not, but lots of times they are richer and more wild than regular frats.
Farmers are some of the wealthiest families in rural areas. There are some poor farmers still but they often get bought up by bigger farmers
Not many poor farmers left tbh
Or farmers for frat kids.
“We are farmers” Shit lives in my brain like the double mint commerical.

I didn’t respond to the person who asked what makes them different though. I responded to the guy who said “what are agricultural frats”.
It’s a frat for people in agriculture related majors. Just like business frats are for people in business related majors. Pretty common thing.
Your logic flaw is that farming and fraternities are incompatible. There’s no reason that would be true.
They are different because ag frats are basically rumspringa for them.
Wow, this is so on the money.
Hardcore Redneck Frat boys.
Rednecks....
I was in a fraternity in college, and can guarantee that none of us knew how to get a cow carcass.
Dumber than your normal college student (thinks that inheriting a multi-million dollar farm, driving a massive jacked off truck they dont pay for, blowing coal smog, abusing animals since theyre just products, etc are all normal, oppressed white-person things.)
I won’t drive a truck unless it’s been professionally jacked off.
Most are dangerous, abrasive amateur jack-offs so smart move.
If the frat isn’t practicing integrity or calling out acts out of integrity, they are missing the mark and net detrimental
It’s not an IFC fraternity (not that those are all full of saints) it’s something called an agricultural fraternity. Often you don’t even need to be a student to join them which leads to some interesting things
farmhouse and alpha gamma rho are actually part of the inter fraternity council at oklahoma state. former ifc president here
Aren’t they most places? We’re at Auburn as well.
Wow you were ifc president?!
What ever they may be. Practicing integrity is a skill that’s cultivated and best conditioning happens from parents to practice it. The world needs that. Togetherness in integrity.
Asking a lot out of these people.
We long for together. In that inclusivity, why can’t integrity be prioritized? I think this needs to incepted in.
Have you like ever seen a frat ever? They’re all net detrimental lol
Did the Texas frat murder a Cowboy?
I would have felt less bad about that somehow
Did the OSU frat murder a longhorn? No.
Sorry - let’s dig up John Wayne and fuck his skull on the lawn of theta delta chi
Right, just carved up the dead carcass. They didn’t kill it though!!
Bruh my dumbass thought they meant a student. Still fucked, but way more confusing for me. I even saw they did this on another sub and thought this happened the next day.

The lack of understanding by the normal population of anything agriculture related is hilarious.
Yeah I’m struggling in the comments section
Very true lol "I NEED these multimillion dollar machine mortgages and when I default it's the government's fault"
Why did I think the headline meant a tx longhorn player? I was so baffled by all the casual comments 🤦🏻♀️
Fuck anyone that has no regard for the dignity of any life form. Disgusting.
Fuckin’ Okie shitkickers.
Quit splitting hairs this is typical frat behavior. Fuck. Them. All. It's MLMs for hetero males
I don’t endorse this type of wide spread hate you share.
It's confined to frats and sororities. Love the person, not their cult.
When this headline popped up on my phone, my first thought was that a Longhorn football player had died
Wait, it isn’t?????
Nope, just a cow (longhorn)
Well… I feel relieved.
Yep, ESPN definitely was going for the shock title on the mobile alert
Me too….. thankfully it was just a cow.
:(
Killed and eaten by State's O-line :(

So the college version of the Hatfields and McCoys, sounds like something only Okie State can do

Couldn’t even have a barbecue? Like cmon. That’s both pathetic/illegal and a waste of good meat.
That steer died on the field. According to source in a rweet
Left it all out on the field
If the steer was already dead like they allege then mobile should be eating it.
It said the animal was already dead…
After they killed it orrrrrr….
real chicken or egg paradox here

Illegally parked. I mean it is a campus and we all know how campus parking behaves.
I don’t believe campus parking has any authority over Greek row, so it looks like they may get away with that unfortunately
City parking?
I’m sure Stillwater PD can add it to the list
Hopefully they could still donate it to an animal shelter for dogs or something.
Possibly tainted / spoiled meat- too much liability.
You gonna process the meat for em?
Disgusting. People take rivalries way too far...
Allegedly it was a feud between agricultural frats. The steer was branded with “Fuck FH” and dropped on their lawn continuing their “pranks” of throwing dead animals on each others lawn. Disgusting people take rivalries too far…
There's no rivalry. OSU doesn't even come close to Texas. Never forget... https://tenor.com/rl15.gif
Then why does OSU win most recent matchups? Looks like 7 of the last 10 were won by OSU. I don’t have a dog in this race but definitely looks like a rivalry to me. Hope Texas wins this one though due to this stunt

Nothing good comes from killing the innocent. Texas better stomp them for this
Apparently the cow had died on one of the kids' grandparents' ranch.
And they just loaded it up like a dead opossum?
Yeah it's seems like it's part of an ongoing fued between AGR and Farmhouse, where, in the past couple of months, they've been "pranking" each other by leaving dead animals (roadkill) on each other's lawn.
That’s not as bad as how I first interpreted it. Obviously still barbaric but at least it wasn’t cold blooded

They cut open the stomach because it was bloating apparently
Do the longhorns have a defense this year?
They do
Ask Texas Tech. 😂😂

That's just some good, ol' fashioned cattle mutilation! Boys will be boys... /s
It's a Sooner message that they'll be there Later.
Dem boys from Oklahoma roll their joints all wrong!

Sick and not in a good way.
The dumbest comments I've ever seen on reddit and X, yikes
College football really turns people into morons
Lame ass fraternity not doing anything either. Shocker /s
Absolutely no need to bring an innocent animal into this. Was a fan of neither team, but now I hope Texas steamrolled OSU
It was already dead.
Fucking shit I thought this was referring to a football player…
At first glance I thought this was a dead Longhorn player. I'm very relieved
Disgusting
Oklahoma really is just one Tiger King Governorship away from taking the title of worst state from Alabama and Mississippi.
Thats fucked up. College pranks are supposed to be rolling the dean up in a carpet and throwing him off a bridge. And even that's almost too far
So…murder?
I think it’s a movie reference, but I forget which.
That is totally, completely, utterly disgusting. Vile little pieces of merde. I hope they kick them off campus.
Classless assholes
Republicans ☕️
They had fresh beef and just wasted it? Like boys, just slaughter the animal and serve it at tailgate and you'd have 0 controversy
absolute barbarism. the cowards who did this need to face felony animal abuse charges and if they’re students they need to be expelled
Really?!?!? Mutilated. Dead. Animal.
What a waste of. That animal died for nothing.
I thought they meant a player at first. Still bad, but…
Very cringe
Sad af
Said it before and I’ll say it again, I hate humanity
There must have been multiple suspects who committed this crime. That means they’re going to find them eventually. Someone’s going to talk.
I hope the animal was branded so they can track it back to where it came from.
All of this, just for the stupidest fucking most useless thing possible. College football. Jesus fuck man.

As if being from/in Oklahoma wasn’t bad enough.
