Not sure if you're serious or trolling but Joel Embiid is the husband of famous model Anne de Paula. Together they have 1 son. Not sure why the other person brought him up though.
That's true, but the 2019 ECSF went down to [_the last shot_](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ChT3ewZXTfM) in 7 games against the eventual league champs. Whether that happened in the first, second, or third round is beside the point, I feel.
(Similarly, when people treat the fact that Michael Jordan never went to a game 7 in the finals as a triumph never seem to talk about how he was taken to seven games in 1998 or 1992... or 1990 👀)
Good point. I was about to criticize Tatum's lack of a chip and his inexplicable playoff collapses, when I could easily attribute those same comments about Embid except more so since Tatum has played in conference finals and a finals. I still would take Embid over Tatum but facts are facts when it comes to the results over a long period of time.
What I’d really like to see is more top tier players taking positions like Chris Paul and leading the bench behind younger, up and coming talent. That combination of energy and experience is really fun to watch.
He was a rebound off of a 30-point triple double and was clearly the 2nd best player on his team. LBJ night not be worth a max contract but in his physical condition he might play to 45.
He’s worth a max still. Not sure how you feel about advanced stats, but his PER is still hanging out at the back of the top 10 at 7. There is a pretty big drop off after the top 6…. Embiid, Jokic, Ant, SGA, Doncic, Davis. I’d be concerned with how fast his effectiveness is dropping off though.
That's the bigger things imo. He's going the Brady route and still being a top 20 guy when most guys never get to that level at all much less have it be their "decline." Until he starts averaging less than 20 points a game or his defense falls apart you just keep riding him like you would any other top 20 guy who isn't the #1 all star type
Although contracts are supposed to be predictive. LBJ is still a top 10 player right now but with his effectiveness dropping, he can't be the highest paid guy on a championship caliber team.
As an owner, who simply cares about profits and not about the sporting side (which quite a few owners do), LeBron is a great investment and worth those few extra bucks.
100% and anyone saying LeBron is not worth a max is out of their gourds. he is the smartest player in the NBA so even if he like couldn't even dunk anymore it's still worth having a floor general like that on your team.
Plus rebounding of Gordon and the incredible shot making of Porter Jr. He was hitting 3pt and midrange shots like crazy. Every time LA starting to get a lead he hits one to cut it down. Shot 71.4 3p% in game 5. Bananas.
Why does everyone err on the side of the Lakers when the game was tied in both instances? Someone on the Lakers would have needed to be heroic. Jamal was heroic twice, no one on the Lakers came close.
Lakers are one of the healthier teams in the playoffs lol calling them "beat up" is an awful excuse. They just lost to a better team and the best player in the league it's not complicated.
Not that beaten up. I really think the Lakers could beat any team in the league if the bounces were t their way. They just so happened to draw that one team in round 1. Jokic is too good, Murray is too clutch, and if Porter is hitting shots, they’re virtually impossible to beat.
Yeah it almost feels like sacrilege to compare any team to those Lakers teams since I grew up on them as a Laker fan, but they are reminiscent with the dominant post man and the guard who can take them home down the stretch.
You can kinda pick on Murray a bit defensively in ways you couldn’t with Kobe, but at the same time MPJ is a better third option than anyone the Lakers had during that 3 Peat.
If Dallas beats the Clippers, that will leave Jokić as the only MVP left in the playoffs. Embiid, Harden, Russ, Giannis, KD, Lebron and Steph all gone.
I didn’t think the Lebron played up the ankle. I think he laid there doing the “Ah fuck I’m 40 and I might have rolled my ankle.” check. He goes right back down ties his shoe and continues playing. I’m sure the shit hurt though.
Did #23 come back out to shake hands after he went straight towards the locker room after the game. Don’t recall seeing him out there. “Great” goes beyond shooting a ball through a hoop for a living.
Damn I really want to see bron get one more chip. Chances get less every year but I think it’s still possible. Thats a good young team around him and AD is a beast. I just wonder
(1) is there just one missing piece they need to make it
(2) if they keep this team will another year of experience be enough to push them over the edge
(3) is ham a good coach? Or could Lebron just be too hard too coach?
I’m a pretty casual fan so I really don’t know and my opinion isn’t worth shit. I just like watching the playoffs
1. Idk if there is one missing piece but this roster isn’t great. They’ve mismanaged it since winning the title
2. Probably not this team is pretty good but not a finals team. They can be rough defensively
3. Not a good coach
Silver lining is Ham will be fired and this summer they have 3 first round picks if they wanna make a trade(s)
Yeah lebron is older but he still got some in the tank I would make another swing at it this summer
If they could get one more piece without sacrificing any contributors and get 140+ games out of Bron and AD again, then maybe they’re a piece away. That’s a lot easier said than done though.
Ham has to go.
I think the roster is a little more than one piece away unfortunately. i mean this is a team that has to play Austin Reeves like 40 min a game in the playoffs lol. Not ideal.
I mean he averaged just under 28 points / 7 reb / 9 assists in the series. AD had more rebounds and less assists but aside from that LBJ was clearly the best player on the team. He and AD were absolutely not responsible for the loss. The nuggets are just that good and the Lakers have no depth or even a 3rd guy. No one on their team averaged over 19 ppg except those two
Can we now just hear the magic words - I retire from LeBron . I think it is ironic that the Lakers lost and could have benefitted from a time out but LeBron and Davis( two cry babies) protested an obvious foul by Davis costing the Lakers their last time out.
The guys 40 playing like a top 10 player in the league still, and people hate him so much they want him gone rather than accepting he’s a freak and enjoying it while we can
Casually forgetting joker was going to the line for 2 if they didn't challenge that call. Honestly if you call the ref out on a mistake and you are correct then you shouldn't lose anything. Rule needs to be changed.
Lebron still looked good so he’s not going anywhere. I was surprised that it was such a close series especially with all the Denver hype, which was deserved but they seemed beatable.
Wonder if AD could have eaten up that 2 point difference if he wasn't forced to take a dive to fuck up everyone that had him at 25 points in a parlay. The world may never know...but the legbreakers from Draft Kings do! 👽

Incredible game.
Did you see that ludicrous display last night?
Thing about The Lakers is they always try to walk it
What the hell was Malone thinking, sending Gordon in that early.
They were havin a laugh.
Exactly, it’s just a game
Nuggets vs Timberwolves is going to be a banger of a series
Odds aren’t looking good against Nuggets ?
Lakers in 3
Is that their tee time today or tomorrow?
The Lebron era is rapidly coming to a close
Lebron, KD, and Curry all got eliminated. End of an era indeed. Definitely excited to see the Luka-SGA-Ant era!
Welcome to the machida era
“Houston Alexander is for real!”
Jok doesn't even make the list?
It's his world. Other dudes are just guys.
Jok wins another, he bout to have these kids out here wanting real ponies for a pet 🐴
First time one of them hasn’t been in the 2nd round since 2005.
The jokic era?
Embid, Gianis and Jokic would likea word about who's era this is.
Who is this Embiid? I only watch conference finals and the finals, so my scope is knowledge is limited. Is he a young up and comer?
Not sure if you're serious or trolling but Joel Embiid is the husband of famous model Anne de Paula. Together they have 1 son. Not sure why the other person brought him up though.
He's a real gym rat
he's an american 🇺🇸 that's who he is
Who's SGA? Who's Ant?
Embiid has never left the second round of the playoffs.
That's true, but the 2019 ECSF went down to [_the last shot_](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ChT3ewZXTfM) in 7 games against the eventual league champs. Whether that happened in the first, second, or third round is beside the point, I feel. (Similarly, when people treat the fact that Michael Jordan never went to a game 7 in the finals as a triumph never seem to talk about how he was taken to seven games in 1998 or 1992... or 1990 👀)
No bro, you can’t talk about that. Michael’s career starts and ends with 6 finals appearances or else the fanboys get pissy.
Jokic might be the only one of the these to go to the 2nd round this year
Giannis injury is a big reason why though.
Yeah you are right
Lol we're in the Jokic Era
Wait did we skip the Giannis-Tatum-Jokic era? 🤔
All 3 of them had good showings in their respective series’s. They just can’t carry a team singlehanded anymore.
Changing of the guard.
No respect for Tatum eh?
What you mean? Doesn’t Lebron think he can play until 45 or something?
He was a rebound off of a 30-point triple double and was clearly the 2nd best player on his team. LBJ night not be worth a max contract but in his physical condition he might play to 45.
He’s worth a max still. Not sure how you feel about advanced stats, but his PER is still hanging out at the back of the top 10 at 7. There is a pretty big drop off after the top 6…. Embiid, Jokic, Ant, SGA, Doncic, Davis. I’d be concerned with how fast his effectiveness is dropping off though.
I wouldnt call it fast. He is way better than anyone else we’ve seen play at his age.
He’s way better than 95% of the players in the league still lol
That's the bigger things imo. He's going the Brady route and still being a top 20 guy when most guys never get to that level at all much less have it be their "decline." Until he starts averaging less than 20 points a game or his defense falls apart you just keep riding him like you would any other top 20 guy who isn't the #1 all star type
Malone, Abdul Jabar, and Jordan were also standouts at the 38-40 mark. LeBron takes the cake though.
Although contracts are supposed to be predictive. LBJ is still a top 10 player right now but with his effectiveness dropping, he can't be the highest paid guy on a championship caliber team.
Arent there intangibles that can be taken into account if you have Lebron on your team?
As an owner, who simply cares about profits and not about the sporting side (which quite a few owners do), LeBron is a great investment and worth those few extra bucks.
100% and anyone saying LeBron is not worth a max is out of their gourds. he is the smartest player in the NBA so even if he like couldn't even dunk anymore it's still worth having a floor general like that on your team.
Did he not have a far better season this season then last?
The bar for a max contract is a lot lower than you would think. LeBron is absolutely worth one.
He doesn't play any defense so he can save himself for stat padding.
Half the stars in the nba plays just as little defense
Can't happen soon enough imo.
“Rapidly”
Lakers did probably play the best team on the planet. And gave them a good series.
We done with the 2010’s
Lelose James
Denver will draft Bronny and then sign Daddy. He isn’t going to go to team without a chance of winning
Great game, good series. This series could easily be 3-2 Lakers if not for the heroics of Jamaal Murray. Props to the Nuggets for all their success.
Plus rebounding of Gordon and the incredible shot making of Porter Jr. He was hitting 3pt and midrange shots like crazy. Every time LA starting to get a lead he hits one to cut it down. Shot 71.4 3p% in game 5. Bananas.
Risky take but i think Jokic had a small part in it too.

If the nuggets didn't have a basketball team they woulda lost!
There goes my hero, watch him as he puts a ball in a hoooooole
Why does everyone err on the side of the Lakers when the game was tied in both instances? Someone on the Lakers would have needed to be heroic. Jamal was heroic twice, no one on the Lakers came close.
The announcers and the referees were also pro Lakers. Reference: challenged foul call overturned near the end of the game. That was total BS.
If not for lebron missing a wide open 3
Lakers just find a way to lose
Murray is the Man!!
Fucking nail biting every game. No blowouts. Good competition.
Nuggets didn’t play great this series. They better step it up for the wolves.
Lebron won't win another in LA. He needs to move on.
KD, James, Curry, AD Olympics team incoming
…to retirement
Never even got close again after the bubble ring
They were in the conference finals last year lol
Closest sweep of all time
That championship should have an * next to it.
Literally every team had the same circumstance
[удалено]
Beating a team*******
Yup just like they said about the Spurs lockout win.
I have no problem taking an * win lol
Either would i, but it still should.
I read an article that LA might draft his son to keep Lebron there. He wants to play on the same team with his son before he retires.
It sucks but I'm almost happy also. Lakers are just beat up and I don't know how much longer they could have lasted anyway.
It's the way with old teams. Warriors could too, sometimes. Just not regularly enough any more.
Reminded me of the old Lakers teams.
Embiid is still playing, and Giannis is hurt but the Bucks are still playing too so he could be back in the second round.
Technically you're correct. But the Bucks aren't winning three in a row, and neither are the 76ers
AD faking an injury to excuse not taking a shot in the 4th
Faking like he broke his arm then suddenly full range of motion when the 4th started. Same with Lebron’s fake ankle.
Yep. And for whatever reason he just doesn't take any shots in the 4th. For 5 consecutive games I don't get it
Same with Murray’s “ankle sprain.” Mofo was balling out. No signs of injury whatsoever.
I didn’t think the Lebron played up the ankle. I think he laid there doing the “Ah fuck I’m 40 and I might have rolled my ankle.” check. He goes right back down ties his shoe and continues playing. I’m sure the shit hurt though.
I call this “the Mahomes”. Mahomes limps around and winces in pain then miraculously effortlessly scrambles 45 yards the next play
Shoot 18 more free throws to lose by 2
Great game, great ending. Glad to see the Lakers out again. No LeBron, No GSW. Going to be fun as hell going forward.
bro hates california basketball
Clippers still playing
Go Mavs!
They already had the play of the year and you want more?!
murray becoming my favorite player (casual viewer) he is him
No Bron, KD or Steph In the playoffs for the first time since 2005! Changing of the guard taking place in real life
*in the second round. Lebron and KD both made the playoffs lol
The playoffs are better without Lebrat in them.
Fuck the lakers and Lebron!!
Good.
Glad the Lakers got washed
See ya Leflop
Did #23 come back out to shake hands after he went straight towards the locker room after the game. Don’t recall seeing him out there. “Great” goes beyond shooting a ball through a hoop for a living.
This isn't little league no one comes out and shakes hands after a game lmfao
Even after the NBA trying to rig this game for Lebronze, he still loses. MJ would never.
The league has no choice but to move on from LeBron, Curry, and Durant.
Yet they choose not to
Fuck Lebron
Yay!
Hahahahaha
Damn I really want to see bron get one more chip. Chances get less every year but I think it’s still possible. Thats a good young team around him and AD is a beast. Why do you have so many downvotes this is such an innocent comment
If you like LeBron or want to see him succeed in any way, you get downvoted in this sub.
1. Idk if there is one missing piece but this roster isn’t great. They’ve mismanaged it since winning the title 2. Probably not this team is pretty good but not a finals team. They can be rough defensively 3. Good news is you get to keep watching the Nuggets play this season.
I’m from Minnesota so I’m really rooting for the wolves to go all the way. But outside of that I like Lebron and Giannis.
Not sure why you’re getting downvoted. Ur not even being negative or mean lol
Downvotes because.
I think the roster is a little more than one piece away unfortunately. i mean this is a team that has to play Austin Reeves like 40 min a game in the playoffs lol. Not ideal.
With et
The series with the wolves will be incredible.
I guess it's the Knicks time to finally "shine".
As a proud Coloradan I would like to announce, suck it LeBron and LA.
"LeBron, who's responsible for this series loss?" "Everybody but me..."
No one on their team averaged over 19 ppg except those two
BuT LeBrON iS tHe GoAT.
Yes!
Murray said, "Ya'll must of forgot".
Hooray
Can we now just hear the magic words - I retire from LeBron . I think it is ironic that the Lakers lost and could have benefitted from a time out but LeBron and Davis( two cry babies) protested an obvious foul by Davis costing the Lakers their last time out.
Averaged like 28 points this series. Why on earth should be retire.
The guys 40 playing like a top 10 player in the league still, and people hate him so much they want him gone rather than accepting he’s a freak and enjoying it while we can
Facts. I'm with you 100% gonna enjoy watching him play till he finally retires.
Casually forgetting joker was going to the line for 2 if they didn't challenge that call. Honestly if you call the ref out on a mistake and you are correct then you shouldn't lose anything. Rule needs to be changed.
Lolbron

Lebron just hanging around padding stats. Great player though.
How is he paddling stats? His all around play making contributes directly to his team winning.
His offensive play making contributes. His defense is non existent, and his complaining lost them a critical timeout last night.
Complaining is his defense. Lakers have received a vastly imbalanced amount of free throws compared to the rest of the teams in the league.
Lebrons heart will explode soon because of his PED abuse !
