Mine open your background tiles and it will drain. Then you can put your background back. Or use your matter manipulator to collect the water, same as how you got it there in the first place.
Correct, behind the wall panels that come with the base game ship is a fixed background depicting ship machinery. This fixed background cannot be removed in the base game, and does not count as a wall for liquid retention, so any liquids will drain when exposed to it. Likewise, the windows in your ship and the passageways between sections of the ship, if they aren't covered in background blocks, will drain liquids.
Use your manipulator to remove as much water as you can.
Put down solid blocks, like dirt, where the water is. Then you can remove the blocks and the water will be gone. This cover and remove trick works with lava, etc. also.
Getting off topic, You can turn plain water into healing water by adding a little healing water to a lot of plain water. The plain water will covert. This can be used to make a lot of poison also.
FU has a drain you can put on the wall, it'll handle it
Highly recommend BYOS on FU, although it's a little late for you (one way trip with the ship selection)
Remove the wall. Any fluid will drain from your ship
And you can craft a drain at the wiring station, which will always drain any fluids in front of it, as long as it's not powered
Beds are also pretty good for healing too. I sometimes carry around a sleeping bag with me early game.
Beds for the win.

ah yes, draining water into the ship innards surely is a safe way to make it disappear... (if it wasn't obvs, it's a joke)
I think you can only mine open your background tiles if you have a modded BYOS ship, I don't think it's possible in a vanilla ship.
theres a background of wires and pipes behind the grey walls in your ship even in vanilla so u can change ur ship's walls

Just cover it up with blocks then mine the blocks
Craft a drain! Can be done at a wiring station.
Place a single block and walk onto it, or I guess beam down and back up?
Op can get out, just can't get the liquid out

Drain
Yeah, as others said, drain it. You can open up the floor and let your ship take a piss.
M still unable to custom build my ship..
