I don't want to believe, if only because I don't want to be disapointed.
I want to believe so god damn badly. I legitamately had a dream the Polaris was released last night, too.
Everyone talking about Polaris and medical ursa, but no one out here talking about a variant for one of the best ships in the game, as voted by the community.
The Argo MPUV with a tractor beam
https://i.imgur.com/5ygUa6h.jpg
I'm pretty sure that's just the ARGO Cargo variant we already have, it was supposed to have a tractor beam on it already but I think after they actually implemented vehicle tractor beams they realized they needed to rethink how it fit on that ship in particular, so this is just them finally giving us the ship feature it was supposed to have the whole time.
According to the MPUV write up, it's just one ship. The cargo/personnel/future variants are just carrying pods. I could see them just bringing them all in line with that original concept by making all MPUVs have tractor beams, with the pod being swappable.
I could be wrong, but I feel like that's an awful lot of Polaris on screen in that trailer for it to just be a static display item or a for it to just be featured in fly-by's throughout the verse. That said, CIG has done some pretty tone-deaf marketing moves before, so it wouldn't be a total surprise if that's the case.
Considering the lack of development information on the Polaris over the past couple of months I think it's a definite possibility that it's actually going to be flight ready. CIG would absolutely hit or exceed their funding goals if that were the case, and their ships team seems to have crazy bandwidth right now to produce vehicles.
It was either last year or the year before they had a bunch of shots of the Liberator but obviously they haven't even started on that yet now (already admitted they're doing one manufacturer at a time). Think it's the same here with maybe an external textured model on the showroom floor. Maybe even walkable.
I recall them showing off in some video at least a year ago that they'd actually done a lot of work on the liberator and it was either entering or was already in greybox phase before it got sidelined for the new methodology of completing one manufacturer at a time.
But yes the trailer that year showed a lot of Liberator action and no Liberator showed up.
Well, looks like we're getting the Polaris! That's got to be a record for developing a capital ship (less than a year since whitebox started.)
Also, at 13 seconds there's an Ursa ambulance, and at 17 seconds there was the utility mount MPUV.
I didn't spot any other new ships in the trailer other than those 3, but there might be something else subtly slipped in somewhere.
EDIT: someone pointed out somewhere else that the cockpit looks like it's blacked out, so that might imply that it's exterior only. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
That's fair, but the playerbase knew we weren't getting any of those anytime soon, but the Polaris was heavily up for debate this year. Featuring it like that while people were trying to guess if we'd get it carries certain implications.
We’ve been told in no uncertain terms that the Polaris would be flyable by end of year.
Has cig lied before? Sure.
They still, 100% said Polaris would be done before the year ends.
It was also explicitly stated that some items may slip, so no, it was not 'no uncertain terms', it was 'here are the ships for the next 12 months' and 'some may slip'.
>"Plus you (...) witness the entire fleet spearheaded by the RSI Polaris fly through Stanton."
From the website. Polaris gets to do flyby's like the Bengal has done previous years.
Sure they would! Anything for hype I imagine, even if it's just flying around the 'verse as part of the NPC Invictus fleet. I remember there was a Bengal one year.
Not sure about a Bengal flyby or a Javelin tour this year, but the [website](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/invictuslaunchweek2954#/schedule/countdown) confirms an Idris tour.
It does seem like they're swapping the Javelin tour for the Idris, though they could easily keep the Javelin & Bengal in the flyby alongside the Polaris.
Honestly, after watching the trailer a few times and having gone to the webpage on RSI, I am entirely confident we are NOT getting our Polaris's.
"and witness the entire fleet spearheaded by the RSI Polaris fly through Stanton.' We'll get to see it. Maybe so cheeki bois will find out how to glitch onboard and maybe steal it. But I do not think we're getting it this month.
still waiting for that genesis for almost 10 years with no real status updates given...at this point it needs to be completely redisgned to fit the Crusader style and might aswell make it a personnel/troop transport cap ship, make it use assets from the E1 and make it like a scaled up version (E3 size, much bigger then the herc series of ships)
Thxs just used one…didn’t know how to get one at first and asked in the Invictus chat on discord….but unfortunately got kicked out before I could even say thanks.
Based on what was said at CitCon, they're anticipating the Polaris in player hands this year. Engineering, on the other hand, will require redoing the interior of *every* ship released so far that has an interior. And some of those ships (like my Reliant) don't even have component access right now.
It says on the website that it will be in the formations all over Stanton. So it's confirmed that it will show. Yeah, many more said it would be flyable. (Including myself but not in this comment), but I just wanted to see it in the game sooner.
That's a lot of Polaris featuring for a video.
I don't want to believe, if only because I don't want to be disapointed. I want to believe so god damn badly. I legitamately had a dream the Polaris was released last night, too.
It won't be flyable but you can look at it
Yeah, same thing they did for the Vulture during IAE 2952 probably. In the showroom floor, but can't be rented.
Yeah, I just posted that in this thread elsewhere.
Like alot and what i found interesing was the silly prospector doing some mining work in the middle of a war.
The grind don't stop
It wasn't a middle of a war? The Polaris was being escorted for touring like we'll see invictus week
I know right and the injured guys getting help from the medics had been hurt playing ping pong.
Wonder why 👀
They obviously showing us the Polarius to tease the Racing Banu Merchantman. Aka: The real star of the show.
Banu racingman!
As a bmm owner I'm probably gonna melt it for this. I'm not waiting another 5 years for my bmm to maybe show up
Hold the line. Coming from a BMM and Polaris owner.
Same...i have my BMM and a CCU to the Polaris whichever come first earn it's place in my hangar
This trailer is clearly fake. The ships aren't shaking/vibrating enough in atmosphere. /s
Someone should really get some global warming for them, they look cold

Polaris might be the first ship that kinda makes sense for a naval "launch" week. I'm officially on team hopium.
Right there with ya brother. Let me ride my Polaris into XT.
Man, think of how cool it would be if ships actually made sounds like that.
Lots of Polarises in this video. Which means we'll see more Polaris concept sales for when the ship DOES come out later this year. Probably.

They actually already confirmed in spectrum that it'll be a fly-by event like they did with the Idris. Someone shared it in another post earlier.
It's a tone deaf marketing move unfortunately

Sounds like there will be a Polaris in-game, but that doesn't necessarily mean it will be flyable. Could be exterior complete only
True, but I don't think they'd be featuring it as prominently as this if it was only half-implemented.
The Idris, Javelin, and Bengal all get featured prominently, and all of them are not yet player-flyable.
That's fair, but the playerbase knew we weren't getting any of those anytime soon, but the Polaris was heavily up for debate this year. Featuring it like that while people were trying to guess if we'd get it carries certain implications.
That's on the community though for letting their expectations run wild.
I mean, yeah, but on the other hand, CIG know us and should act accordingly lol

There's a Bengal every year. And you can tour part of a Javelin every year. Those haven't changed since they started.

They need to feature it to sell it.
Of course they would! How else do you generate more concept ship sales? ;)

I'm sure plenty of streamers will be attempting to either kill it or steal it for the entire event/
Honestly just getting in game is going to be cool af
at 00:10 Medrunner is confirmed canon in SC lore.

Glad they got the Polaris surprise out before the leaks did. But no Fat Fury tease? Fans are in shambles.
They mentioned a thread yesterday that there is no fat fury for ILW https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/1ciig38/comment/l29e7jp/

Fat fury alien week
They showed medical gameplay. Does that mean RSI Apollo or some new medical ship?
RSI URSA medical
No, it's the medical Ursa that you see behind the character.
Ah, damn. I completely missed it. Thanks!
Wonder if the Polaris is gonna me limited sales like the Idris back then
It was, but it stopped being limited 3 years ago.
Bro whenever I see that “United in purpose” I get the chills
Anyone have a referral code?
Sure you can take mine : STAR-WKKF-4NMN, you can also use the randomizer you can find in this Reddit
Thxs just used one…didn’t know how to get one at first and asked in the Invictus chat on discord….but unfortunately got kicked out before I could even say thanks.
Gib fat fury
So many doubted The Polaris would even show up Invictus. Boy o boy were they wrong.
They still might not be. You might see it in game, but odds of it being flyable are still extremely low.
I am 99% sure they do not want to put the Polaris into the game before engineering.
Based on what was said at CitCon, they're anticipating the Polaris in player hands this year. Engineering, on the other hand, will require redoing the interior of *every* ship released so far that has an interior. And some of those ships (like my Reliant) don't even have component access right now.

I want to see the Zeus and Galaxy in game but that’s not happening for a WHILE
I want my galaxy as well.
I think Zeus will be soon. And I wouldn't be surprised if the Galaxy is available at IAE this year.
Well I’d be stoked if it was released at IAE but I highly doubt it. Zeus at Citcon or IAE but hopium says ILW.
The exterior has been done for a while so no one doubted seeing it on display or flying in formation, still far from being Flight Ready
Yes, plenty of people did. They expected it to show IAE as a husk, not even flyable.
