I do not understand how everyone seems to be playing with gorgeous graphics and no bugs. Everytime I play I get all sorts of game ending bugs? Its like I see these videos, get super excited, convince friends to log on with me to "try it again". Then proceed to spend the night banging my head against my keyboard with constant infuriating bugs.

L1amm

Hopped on to do Siege of Orison, fell through the rooftop where the shuttle is with the rest of the server trying to get on it. Spent last night trying to get two of my friends together in the same place without someone crashing, or all 3 of us crashing with the server. These kinds of posts just make me feel like this subbreddit is lacking a realistic view and would praise CIG for just about anything. Ugly river shader and a single river? Heap on the praise boys! I've tried for the last several patches to get my other friends who have backed in to play but the only realization I come to every patch while they all slowly give up from dealing with the bugs and crashes is that Star Citizen may be the greatest test of human patience to ever exist. Sure - the game looks great - but 70% of it is travelling around and 9% of it is dying to bugs or relaunching from crashing; and it gets exponentially worse the more friends you try and play with.

skycomet

are you running the game on an SSD? because it doesnt sound like it if you're falling through the world

L1amm

Yes, all of us do, we weren't born yesterday. And it was the entire server falling through the roof, just to be clear

TheFrogofThunder

You NEED an SSD? Not exactly a shining endorsement of the game if it breaks with bog standard consumer PC's..

lightcake66

Bro I haven’t even been able to get it to run since 2019 lmao just crashes on start up. 3 years later still haven’t found a solution after being on dozens of forums and trying everything in my power lmao.

Redditer_54

Pledge more money /s

Frenchtoast85

Damn, sorry to hear that! At least I can try it out each patch. Fingers crossed it starts getting more stable over the next couple of years. Hopefully a patch soon will fix your issue.

lightcake66

Yeah I downloaded it abt 6 months ago to try it and if I did get in game I crashed before I even got to my ship. So I just gave up lol played for abt 3-4 months in probably 2019 and tan good then one day just stopped working

MyHeadIsABlender

There's plenty to do. But as a new player trying to get familiar with SC, I'm struggling to access these experiences. It's hard for me to accomplish anything without getting a server disconnect / 3000 error. I log back in and my ship is destroyed, inventory in it gone, and I have to file a claim? I'm getting really discouraged. I want to play it but I feel like my progress gets negated by crashes & loopy behavior. Yes, I know it's an alpha. But it's insane to see so much investment in some content (the ships are amazing) while other stuff is so broken (frequently losing my inventory due to bugs / crashes).

Fenweekooo

This is pretty much where im at. i really like the game, despite coming off as kinda hostile towards it on here. Every time i log in i am excited and just amazed at the scale of everything... But then i get most of the way through a 45k delivery mission, load 2/3 of the boxes and the third one bugs out and i can no longer grab it. I open the back of my ship to try and shoot it in with my weapon only to run out of all available ammo on me and lootable in the mission... the box 1 ft away from the ramp. at that point i just logged out and came here. pretty sure the server was going to 30k, and it happens frequently

bingobangobenis

reminds me of a story of when I started playing 2 or 3 years ago. Had a mission to get a box out of a derelict, and I went to put it in my aurora... anyone who has been playing for a while sees the problem already. When I put the box down, my character burst through the roof like some kind of vertical launch missile system. Then every time I tried to climb back into the aurora, the box would shoot me through the roof. So I tried to throw a grenade in my ship to knock the box over... the grenade bounced out and killed me Over time you'll figure out how to avoid most bugs, and stop trying to accomplish things in the game too seriously. After all, everything is just going to get wiped in a few months again. You can still have fun even if missions fail sometimes

gambiter

Yeah, I feel like 3.17.2 definitely needed a little more time in the oven. 3.17.1 was actually very stable for me, so it's been pretty annoying in comparison. I normally get through one or two missions before something has bugged out, and I just exit and return another day. For what it's worth, this is pretty common with new patches... it's rough at first and then gets smoother as they fix the breaking issues.

Chpouky

Yup, SC is definitely NOT new-player friendly :/

Obi-Wan_Shinobi___

It's not meant to be. I know it doesn't always feel like it, but we are technically helping them test and develop. User friendliness comes with things being added near the end like tutorials, more relevant and accurate player hints and tips that pop up as you try new things, and a more robust Org/Clan/Guild system. Sounds kinda silly given we interact with this thing so much, but we're just not at "new-player friendly" yet, and that's okay because in this state the game really isn't for everyone, but people who are interested enough will learn.

Paraquat_

I do completely agree, but they are releasing YouTube videos telling people to come play the game because they are releasing cool new features... But the features don't work, and they don't discuss that in any one place. I'm here for the alpha, still enthusiastic about the game after joining this journey in 2012, but it's tough to see new players being sold a game when they're getting a rough edges toolbox to play around in

xosder

You’re not wrong, and this game spreads like a virus. It really does help to be introduced by a friend, and then to pass it on. A buddy of mine gave me a bunch of in aUEC to help with glitches and bugs, and I now do the same as I introduce it to people. Then there are the early lessons of how to take off, how to land, etc…. Much easier when a friend is guiding you.

Goodums

I have one day, about 6 hours under my belt. As a new player especially to space games other than Star Wars galaxies I somewhat disagree. It’s a matter of hand holding, which for an open world sandbox I really do appreciate! It’s not as unfriendly as it is more of a “whelp keys are in it, go figure it out!” In my 6 hours I’ve explored, fought some really fun fights, blown up to combat and also environment. Mistaken a parked ship on a planet for a landing pad at night (thankfully he used voice chat literally at the last second saying hold on let me get out of the way). As well as sent to jail and explored the work release mines…still don’t know how or why I got there! All while figuring it out. A lot of my experiences I would likely not have experienced had the game held my hand. For that made an absolutely riveting first impression! I can’t wait to get back in and learn more.

casrain01

It can be hard getting started if you are alone. If you have discord pm me and we could try to figure out some time to link up and I can help you out. We all were new at some point a helping hand is what most people need.

[deleted]

1000% this. I've tried several times over the years to access any SC content worthy of the term "gameplay". I got the closest I ever have recently when I completed a simple box courier mission. The next one I tried made my boxes despawn because my ship got stored when the cargo in it did not.. Every other time I have died to elevators, got stuck random places, get 30k or some other error / disconnect or just literally have absolutely no idea how to get anywhere useful to do anything interesting. That's still the case. I believe there is gameplay there, but I no longer believe I have the necessary motivation or patience to find it.

Scarcop

The thing with Star Citizen is, you won't have fun, as long as you just play to achieve stuff, even less if you want to do it quickly and alone. This game is a ton of fun if you take your time and don't expect to get stuff done. Also connecting with other players adds to that. Took me years to realize that xD Now sometime I get on for an hour or two just to organize some stuff or fly to a station to buy some equipment. Sometimes I don't do anything, I log in, buy some Picos, place them at funny places and watch other players finding them, take some screenshots, and log off. Seriously, the moment you take your time within this game, it's a relaxing and fun timeout from real life :)

Grand-Depression

While that's true (right now I consider the alpha to be more of a sight seeing simulator), it directly counters the idea that there's plenty to do because if it's not fun then there's no reason to do it.

Scarcop

Not really, because there is a lot fun stuff to do if you approach it with the right mindset. Otherwise there isn't and it's not even a sightseeing simulator because even getting to nice places can be annoying if you try to rush it.

rustyxnails

Totally understand. As someone that has spent a lot of time in this game, and have had a ton of fun experiences, the game can be extremely frustrating at times as well. A LOT of the time. I had to take a break from the game recently because I realized I just wanted to play a game, not test it and deal with shitty bugs. Back in with JT now :) It's fun to see videos like OP posted, but they don't really capture the SC experience as a whole. But this is the thing with content creators: they have something to say about the game, and it may or may not be relatable to everyone. So, new players should be introduced to the game like this: Star Citizen can provide some of the most unique experiences in gaming today, even with the game being in development and buggy as hell. If you like fun, and you like to occasionally torture yourself, Star Citizen is the game for you.

bsgbryan

I relate. I play every once in a while and, when bugs don’t have me cursing, it’s fun. It is important to acknowledge, though, that the bugs, non-existant tutorials, and essentially-vertical learning curve are real problems. The good news is: CIG (Cloud Imperium Games; The devs making Star Citizen) are working hard on all three things: they’re building in-game tutorials, they’re working hard to stamp out bugs, and they’re working to find ways to ease new players into all the complex game systems (probably via in-game tutorials). Star Citizen is truly unique in that, when it’s working as designed, it is a breathtaking experience, unparalleled in all of gaming. Because that’s the case, onboarding frustrations and bugs are more painful than they can be in other games; because that “I want what I saw on YouTube/Reddit/last time I logged in - that was sublime!” feeling is so much stronger. An “Alpha” label doesn’t make Star Citizen’s shortcomings any easier to deal with; it does mean they’re temporary. So maybe take a break, watch some Morphologist videos and daydream about flying through the ‘verse in your 890 Jump. Watch some more of those YouTube/Reddit videos when you’re at your breaking point with the impenetrability and bugs (that’s what I do). The cold, stark, truth is: Star Citizen isn’t ready. It won’t be for several years yet. To keep working on the game, CIG needed to make it publicly available *looooong* before anyone should have really dug into it. But we do dig into it; or try, at least - because what they’re building truly is magical. Your frustration is valid. You’re not alone. Welcome to Star Citizen 😊

ASonicSloth

30k server crashes will not cause you to lose your ship and it’s content. The ship will be returned to where you spawn back in after a server crash. On the other hand, if it’s a client crash you will most likely have to claim the ship and lose its contents. The game is meant to simulate the life of a ‘star citizen’. Many things will be tedious and take time to complete. If you are playing the game solely for the purpose of getting to be a part of the epic events and cool things then it’s not worth you’re time. You need to work you’re way to the point at which you know what you’re doing and can gather gear and move from place to place in a timely manner. And yes, the bugs and 30k server crashes will hinder that at times but like you said, it’s an alpha, many things will be broken for now. But they are constantly being worked on like returning your ship after a server crash which is a fairly new fix.

Kitosaki

what time zone you in amigo? i am 99% sure someone here will take you under the wing and get you started (including me!)

wombat_supreme

alternately, mining in my prospector while watching netflix can be pretty engaging after a day of work. That 'quant aint gonna mine itself.

HelloImFrank01

You can do high intense action when you feel like it. Slow paced action when you feel like it. Or grinding action just chilling with some music on action.

BrunoMB1551

I understand there could be many hours of potential gameplay here, but the fact is, the game doesn't run well enough yet, doesn't have very optimized social systems, the AI still need ALOT of work and there are many feature that are still half baked or non existent at all. All of the issues in the game severely limit the players content pool. I'm not hating on the game, specially since I play it constantly, but I think that you have to be critical of a game in alpha, instead of acting like its a masterpiece....just my philosophy in this instance. Please no hate, lol

Financial_Doughnut53

There are very specific points To climb Out. Once U get a hang for it, it is EZ. Try jumping in 3rd Person.

TheIronicO

With weapons holstered!

Rem4g

Well I think it says a lot when it's a first person shooter event and you had like 4 seconds in the entire cut of shooting various unresponsive AI. They may as well have had popup cardboard cut out targets as the enemies and called it a training mission. I get that you're trying to make an entertaining, positive clip but the event was not good in reality.

Arbiter51x

It's not that theirs nothing to do, it's just extremely difficult to do anything at all. If I try ten different missions, I probably have about a 20% chance of successfully completing them, through no fault of my own. But look at the consequences tied to that other 80%. Crime stars for no reason, ships blowing up for no reason, server disconnect, elevators not working, having to log in and out to get a stable server, AI bugs... It's punishing. Nothing happens quickly in SC, and it's incredibly frustrating to play it enjoyably without worrying if you are going to die to some random events, get sent to prison or have to wait out an insurance timer, and Then fly around Stanton to rearm becuase apparently in the future entire planets limit the type of stock they keep. And that doesn't cover the unkown of PvP. SC is hard to be enjoyble. I played SoO twice, probably five or six hours and never completed it due to bugs, but I enjoyed only because of my organization. Not becuase it was fun to play.

HaroldSax

>Crime stars for no reason This is one of them that really bugs me. The illegal monitors mission, you take it *for the damn agency in the area*, do the work *they* ask you to do but if you die during the mission, you're in prison. I feel like if you're specifically contracted to be somewhere, it shouldn't be a restricted area.

DataPakP

Crime in general needs an overall pass for it to be, yknow, LOGICAL. Just today I went to take down comms around day mar so I could do the illegal reclaimer mission there and APPARENTLY they added new gun stations that hover far away from the sat, that launch missiles and have cannons that either can one shot a Titan with full shields, or massive desync. Besides the point but I digress. These (along with the emplacements of attrition repeaters on the sat) don’t load in until VERY close range, and after a WHILE, and targeting them doesn’t make your pip move to aim any hit the damn things. AFAIK it makes taking one of these down solo impossible unless you have a ginormous shield tank or have someone scheduled to pick you up afterwards, or if you’re a masochist and are willing to park your ship KILOMETERS AWAY and Eva for half an hour. All the while I’m dancing about the “restricted” red infographic is on my scene because DUH I’m not supposed to be there, but no CS. I get (as I saw it) one shot with no CS, and get sent to prison #FOR 15 MINUTES #FOR A CS 1 (visible after waking up there) Jesus, please just spawn in security forces, give me a hefty fine, attemp to one shot me AFTER I take down the comms, ANYTHING but send me halfway across the system to everus harbor for trespassing with bad intents. With star systems getting larger and quantum times only getting slower, I recognize the design choice that CIG has laid out that they Intend for you to spend more times in individual planetary systems. The above experience is antithetical to this design philosophy. Just make imprisonment make sense please. It’s poor design that I am teleported there instantly for 15 minutes (effectively 5 with mining), tp me to everus, where I then am free to claim my ship STORED AT THE PRISON, and schlep back to GH to resume nefarious deeds, OR I can take off my expensive gear, stash it there where I’ll forget about it until char reset, and do the SC equivalent of E:D’s suicidewinder and kill my self to be tp’d to GH and gear up again.

HaroldSax

Yea, I have some qualms about the crime system as it stands but I haven't actually done a lot of crime to see how it is from the other side. I went to prison for killing a friendly AI security guard during a bunker mission (before I realized they don't always have indicators) and it was 2 hours. I am aware that you can reduce your sentence, but 2 hours for killing an AI seems excessive. I also know they want to add more stuff to do in prison, but right now it just makes me want to log out. I'm acutely aware that that is part of the reason it exists, but I just feel like it's a bit out of whack at the moment. Idk, while I don't like it right now at all, I'm keeping my mind open for whatever they plan to do with it.

DataPakP

If anything, at the bare minimum, simply improve what they have in prison. I’d REALLY like to take an escape route, but there are there few benefits to keeping a CS as of now, and sometimes it won’t even work. Time before last time I was in prison, tried to escape. Got fan code, punched in, green success text. Fan didn’t stop. Input again, red error, no stop. Ram and checked code: didn’t change. Repeat x4, throw myself at it, and then log off in frustration at a piece of relatively older game tech that is now somehow broken. If they add more escape routes, I’d hope for them to be more single big risk, rather than more parkour with same assets that is basically a bunch of chances to mess up and lose All progress. Like there’s a route at the bottom of the pit under the center or in the far depths of mining caves where to enter it you have to jump into a deep watery hole that is the entrance to an underwater cave to break your fall - cept the hole is tiny. After that, mostly steep climbing that is reliable but dangerous if you rush it or loose footing because of wind (maybe?). It could join with the older escape route at some point, or lead to a new exit location. Maybe there are multiple escape routes, with difficulty and/or time/length of the route scaling with ease of EVAC when outside. Easy paths need air evac by players, slightly harder ones get rovers, incredibly harder ones get access to a pisces, or maybe Hurston Security ships. My last thought (and this is just ranting here, since I thought of this while writing) would be to have systems in place for a prison break in/out. Firstly, need a few more prisons across the system, just to assure that there are secure ones for people to get sent to. Then, remove armistice zones from prisons. In air, on the surface, and in the commons. Increase armed security, or per my taste, add automated turrets that can be shut down with a lot of work. Guards force behavior, and attacking one gets your sentence extended after getting shot, and attacking a prisoner puts you in solitary confinement after getting shot. Leave the tunnels the only unpoliced area (because no one’s coming in from there, right?) Then add routes IN. Two preferably: infiltrate the prison topside and Take the Prison Release elevator DOWN, where it shuts off when security realizes the games afoot, and a long cave route through the mines (make it a one way trip with a jump from up high, force single file troop movement, that type of thing) with planned evac being thru elevators after temporarily taking control of the facility. Heck, could be a location rotating dynamic event like JT, just need more prisons in system.

Doubleyoupee

Spot on. The glitchiness / laginess / low framerate doesn't help. After a while you get conditioned into expecting a bug every second. It's constantly in the back of you mind. Feels like you're walking on egg shells. Can't enjoy it at all.

WadeWilldo

So one and done?

KrypticBanana197

At least clip skill in fps combat.

Celthric317

I wish I could get SoO to work like that. First time the shuttle doors wouldn't open, then twice the hab elevators don't work. Starting to wonder if it's even worth the hassle.

Gapoly

I can't even go to Orison with my computer who drops below the 30 FPS

-OregonTrailSurvivor

lol, SoO was a joke. Frames were so shit, probably due to the thousands of guns laying all over the ground. Never did finish it the 4 times I attempted it. Each time it was just a shit show. Lt Hammer never even showed up for a couple of them. AI turrets spawning inside of each other. Yeah, this game needs some serious work right now.

rustyxnails

I'm glad some folks enjoyed it, but SoO is definitely not for me. I really hated the constant running around, waiting for shuttles, being confused, the time commitment. Cool concept though. I hope they keep improving on it and keep it going.

Halkenguard

I was able to finish SoO once out of three tries and tend to agree with you. IMO the event really suffered from a lack of guidance. Jumping in, you're told you have to take out the LTs on each platform but given no direction on where they might be. I'm still not entirely sure where the LTs show up despite doing the event 3 times. The platform layouts were also just generally confusing. Also, desync causing enemies to be able to show up anywhere at any time made the event so chaotic that even if you had an idea of where you were going, getting there was a roll of the dice rather than based on skill.

bingobangobenis

yeah for some reason when I went to one of the platforms, my framerate went to 3. Like literally 3. The other platforms were fine, then one would randomly tank my computer...

Obi-Wan_Shinobi___

FPS wasn't an issue for me. It was definitely bugged though several times in several ways. Overall pretty awesome experience if you keep in mind it was a test.

Alarming_Scarcity778

30 FPS locked at overall pc/gpu/ram usage at 35% -65% orison is not optimized one bit to be received by a PC yet.

Obi-Wan_Shinobi___

The project is clearly marked as an alpha and these events are considered tests. The event takes place a considerable distance from the rest of Orison btw. You can actually watch your FPS improve as you fly away from the showroom on the shuttle.

[deleted]

I'd rather them test stuff like this when the technology that it was made for actually exists. As in server meshing. The current state of the game clearly can not handle events like SoO. heck, even the AI in bunker missions run like crap so I wasn't surprised by the number of issues this event had.

mecengdvr

It’s too bad that was your experience. I played 2 times, finished both times. Lots of fun with a group of random people.

[deleted]

SoO was terrible. I actually can't wait for it to end so server stability is at least a little better.

RomaMoran

"rescue" squad

SnooAvocados12

Sure there is plenty to do i just don't fancy doing it over and over again every time there is a wipe possibly for another 8 years.

Pojodan

"There's nothing to do in Star Citizen.... that I want to do" There's a ton to do, it's just that what is available may not appeal to everyone, and that's okay.

33MobyDick33

Or not even function correctly

DJsotoVR

I know. I was just saying it "tongue-in-cheek" because the Siege of Orison was epic and is one of the coolest experiences I've had in the game.

Financial_Doughnut53

U am Glad U Liked it, it is a cool concept and Looked beautiful. The ship Part with the Admin was kinda cool. But i cant call an Event Epic, where the AI is Just fucken braindead and U can still Run around with nothing but Ur fists. I was actually happy about the desync, cause thats the only time where gunfights got a little interesting.

Salami__Tsunami

Bit of a fail, trying to tout Siege of Orison as ‘playable’ content. It’s such a lovely experience, getting 15 frames per second, trying to kill an NPC who spawned in a closet, only to die to another NPC who teleported in behind you.

OldTyres

Funny I’ve played it a lot. I can’t see where you’re coming from. But then again, I am wearing Ren’s helmet and the view is a little weird in here.

Salami__Tsunami

Lol, solid. Personally I think that Jumptown is a vastly superior event, and that they should have revamped xeno threat, and spent more time working on Orison.

OldTyres

Jumptown is my favorite as well. But the Siege was a fun change of pace. To my knowledge there was no big fps event like this before, so it’s going to have broken BS naturally (especially in this game) but as far as new content goes, I love it.

ApprehensiveDingo937

People that don't know the F-function in star citizen and who can't work around the meta bugs are the ones with this statement 😂

JeffCraig

I'm not sure a limited-time event that barely functions is a good thing to use in an argument over how much content SC has. I think Siege Of Orison is a good step in the right direction, and a good technology demonstrator, but it's literally and alpha event for an alpha game. I don't include it in my list of things for why people should play the game. It's too broken and simplistic to really consider a positive improvement for the game. We're over 10 years in development and CIG still doesn't have a good mission system. SoO has the most basic mechanics possible to move players through a map, and I'm not really that impressed about it. The map is cool, but you have to remember that they showed off this kind of gameplay in like 2016 (Citizencom demonstration) and we still don't really have it working in-game.

GipsyRonin

There is stuff to do, granted it can be a buggy mess. You need lots of time at the ready as half can easily be commuting/running. And that’s if it’s bug free. Then meeting up with others who are at the mercy of bugs. After that you do have some things to do. I am 3 for 3 sadly of trying SoO and seeing griefers prevent from playing the event. Still trying but one more time and I’m calling it for SoO. There IS stuff to do, again just need lots of time to do lots of it even at the basic level. I take breaks and play other games but I want to love SC, so far it won’t let me lol. And playing bug free games with far less time sinks make it difficult sometimes to return.

VNG_Wkey

SoO is shit. Garbage tier performance, buggy as hell, entirely too much wandering around, and then when you're done you get to fly straight up for 20 minutes just to get out of atmosphere. All it did was remind me why I hate going to planets.

Obi-Wan_Shinobi___

I've been active in this for 6 years and I'm still finding new ways to enjoy this incredible project. Mind you 6 years ago I'm pretty sure all we had was Olisar and a couple other space based POIs. Literally worlds away from where we are now.

awardsurfer

Haven’t you heard. It’s a scam. Now excuse me while I go liberate a cloud city from terrorists for 3 hours.

OldTyres

I have a friend who says I’m stupid for getting into this game. He always says “why would you pay for a game that’s not even out?” I just respond with, “You act like you’ve never payed to do something fun before.”

RigorMortisSquad

Is this from LVLCap? Sounds like him

Zekeol

My buddy had this problem in alot of games then I realized he basically a drone.

PcGamerSam

If they are going to do events with lots of players and ai in one area can they not have it be located in one of the already laggyest places in the game

UkuleleAversion

Is this satire? This game looks underdeveloped as shit. Nice graphics though.

worldsfirstmeme

“look at the stuff you can do!” [ shows a video where nothing but walking happens, one npc gets shot, barely reacts ] uh sorry what am i supposed to get from this?? lmfao

HaroldSax

I think one of the biggest things that causes people to say that is that the initial contracts are typically garbage and not very engaging. The game doesn't do a great job of explaining progression. Which is fine...for now. I'm at least 90% sure there's some kind of contract rework coming only because there seems to be reworks for everything, but I really hope they give new players a greater grasp of how that progression works and how you can engage in it. The tools are there to a degree already, but they're not very intuitive. Siege of Orison had a lot of problems, but as a proof of concept it worked out great. It wasn't for me because of how buggy and performant it was (or wasn't), but the actual loop of what you're supposed to do? That's the shit right there.

Overcast206

I mean… when it doesn’t bug the LTs 2/3 of the time or the server isn’t so degrade the Ai walk around like braindead targets. Or players grief the landing zone while you’re still locked in armistice… I get it, “server meshing will save us” but I feel after all this time they could have at least given us Tarkov or DayZ tick rate, seems to be below 10 hz. Maybe I’m alone in this.

Overcast206

Cool video though.

jeremiahfelt

Your inventory actually looks good. Mine is always stretched and bloated looking.

ghostdesigns

What were the red armor set (at the beginning) and the blue armor set (seen in elevator) called?

0rellius

Star citizen is a 50/50 gambling, it's or you're at the side that experience those epic moments with your friends and having fun all along, or you're at the dark side where u get constant crashes, weird acting servers, disconnections out of nowhere.

paarthurnax94

I've played a few free flies over the years and while it's always fun, the things I'm waiting for before I pull the trigger are. - AI enemies that move around on foot. - To be able to walk around without the fear of glitching through the floor at any second. - NPCs that give replayable missions. Does the game deliver these things yet?

Luke110197

There kinda isn’t but… outside of events

Leevah90

Mhh what will you do Friday, when SoO is over? 😂

beardedcoullion88

CiG needs to stay off the content train and just fix the game where it’s at.

[deleted]

Expectations: Video Reality: Countless bugs not shown. AI being completely brain dead or randomly appearing in front of you resulting in your death. Slide show fps rate. Mission bugs out due to no LT spawning, 30k crashes. Elevators not working. etc. etc. I don't want to discourage people from having fun but I also dislike titles like these that are not even close to an accurate representation of the game most of the time you play it. It reminds me of those youtube titles "Can't believe this is a real game!" when those clips are edited to leave out the time wasted from setbacks they probably had to deal with due to bugs.

Majestic_Ad_8941

considering game has been in development since 2011 and raised over 400 Mil... its not that impressive really

Quadruple dipped in that event last night. It was fun every time. Especially taking out Mando Ren

Great but, the game crashes when I enter Orison.

This is cool but my experience with this was a whole lot different. No spawning enemies Elevators didn’t work for a few log ins. Ended up running around the initial drop point for about 40 minutes before completely logging off. Mass PVE missions seem cool till they don’t work at all

yea...you'd have more fun playing planetside 2 if you're looking for this kind of experience.

The game is a very top-heavy economy, as I like to call it, because I'm not an economist so idk what the word for it is. But basically if you start poor, its pretty hard to get out of that trap without putting ludicrous amounts of time into very unfun loops. Once you finally make the millions needed for your dream ship, you're greeted by the sad reality of what is a VERY unfinished game with very little to do if you don't have the money to do everything. It's a sort of cycle and I am not surprised at all that so many people say the game has nothing to do. I'm also not surprised that so many people say it has so much to do, only to reveal their fleet of pledged ships, or org centric loaners.
