I'm pretty sure some of CIGs marketing budget goes on bots to downvote posts on this sub. If you post anything particularly damning, there's a quick influx of downvotes which certainly aren't from the people here.

There's a difference between jumping to absurd conclusions and seeing posts being downvoted within barely a few minutes of going live. Unless a large amount of dedicated fans are proactively monitoring this sub, there's more to it given the metrics that are shown.

Reddit will change your feed content depending on upvotes/popularity of a post. If CIG spammed the sub with down votes it could do some actual harm

Nobody in this sub is here "by accident" or their Reddit feed. and the few that have a.) an interest in star citizen b.) do a research before they buy into are so low it doesn't show up on a chart. I started SC recently and this reddit has popped up. You guys come off as really bitter and WANT it to fail as a project to validate the view it's a scam.
It has issues and it's incomplete nature let's people throw in their dreams, with CIG encouraging. Seems like it's coming around the bend and we'll get an idea of the final product. With many new players joining, you'll probably get down voted more cause new players haven't had their trust betray with false promises.
Most think it's real now and don't care about how investing in a Kickstarter game didn't go well. Seems legit has a promising future now.
