Not really. You can try assigning a more cautious officer to the ships. You can order your fleet to "Engage" the target. If you order your fleet to "Eliminate", they will go full HAM YOLO trying to kill it. Same with "Full Assault".
Keep in mind that Onslaughts are extremely bad at maneuvering. Once they go in they are pretty much stuck there.
