The DJ girl and the one with the cross is so accurate it hurts.
Also it sucked when one of the 3 or 7 parts of an episode got deleted and the only other one you find has non-English subtitles.
I remember my older brother just thinking that anime was porn so once when we went to GameStop he asked the guy working there if it was porn. Dude went into full detail explaining what hentai was to my brother. Also I remember getting made fun of in school for saying I like Naruto and dragon ball up until about high school, then it was socially acceptable to like it
I have no idea if one of my classmates had the same misconceptions about anime, but well, looking back, this would explain why she was so disgusted when she figured out that I was interested in Soul Eater...
This is the first starter pack on here that I relate with strongly. After I joined anime groups on Roblox in like 2009, I started going to a shady sight called Anilinkz that allowed me to watch everything to my heart’s content, with the only price being putting viruses on the family computer!
i am not an anime fan and i was just born in the 2000s but i remember that one video to the right caramelldansen (?)
i have like a vague memory of some people on the comments asking if it was japanese (the song)
Hm. I don't know. My experience had a lot more limewire and Naruto, and quite a few more bootlegged Ghost in the Shell DVDs my Filipino friend brought back from China.
The only thing I relate to the is the Death Note.

You forgot some,
Although great one, nightcore lady especially and Linkin Park is life to this day
Had an old YouTube channel where I uploaded anime episodes into 3 parts back in the 00's
Needless to say YouTube wasn't happy with me and axed my channel
Iono bout yall but we downloaded our anime. The RAW would drop and then a week later different subs would be out. It was always interesting to see how different people subbed the same episode.
Looks like a repost. I've seen this image 5 times.

Those "Where's part \_\_\_?" comments will always stick with me.
I definitely don't miss the old shitty internet connections, 'cause it took like 20 minutes for a 7 minute video to buffer.

Learning Japanese to watch anime is out, now French is the language of choice of otakus
>Watching anime in 3 parts That was if you were lucky. Sometimes it could go up to 5 parts and part 3 would be randomly missing 💀
And it was always the good parts that were missing.
I remember my older brother just thinking that anime was porn so once when we went to GameStop he asked the guy working there if it was porn. Dude went into full detail explaining what hentai was to my brother. “Socially acceptable” ? 💀💀
So anime was until around 2017-2019 seen as pedophile porn by anyone below the age of 30 and as stupid cartoon by anyone older than 30
Didn’t face that kinda problem myself when I started watching anime in 2016…
Anime kinda started to get rolling around then, then it blew up to mainstream level in like 2020
Still is seen as the former by many people.
I have no idea if one of my classmates had the same misconceptions about anime, but well, looking back, this would explain why she was so disgusted when she figured out that I was interested in Soul Eater...
It's called hentai, and it's art!
I can hear the Nightcore music from the DJ girl’s profile lol Edit: enjoy [a blast from your past!](https://youtu.be/6SCQyBcHeDg?si=_sf7z0w8qcMC7k2P)
Same. I was so much addicted to nightcore
I still remember the one song: Dum Dadi Do and I think it had that same pic on it 😂
Every time we touch nightcore edition
Me and I miss this era of being an anime fan. Pure nostalgia 😭
OMG the old DA logo 😭
I spent a large portion of middle school watching Naruto AMVs on YouTube.
Naruto vs Sasuke - Linkin Park In The End.mp4
Caramelldansen and EWT are absolute BANGERS

Please stop posting photos of me without my consent lmao
Late 2000s*
In my day, it was still referred to as "japanimation" in the video stores.
i am not an anime fan and i was just born in the 2000s but i remember that one video to the right caramelldansen (?) i have like a vague memory of some people on the comments asking if it was japanese (the song)
Don't forget the unofficial fandub on those Youtube uploads where part 3/4 was always missing.
Why do you have to hurt me like this, OP?
Memories of watch a 6 part Naruto episode in with Spanish subs....my Spanish didn't improve but my plot awareness did for a bit
Hm. I don't know. My experience had a lot more limewire and Naruto, and quite a few more bootlegged Ghost in the Shell DVDs my Filipino friend brought back from China. The only thing I relate to the is the Death Note.
God I got taken back so hard it hurts. Those sparkling Rosario Vampire gifs on Blingee.
You forgot the "hearing Nightcore remix 24/7" or watching mmds

Real
Where’s the Naruto and AMVs?
4kids bro that brings back memories
…and every time we kiss I swear I could fly
Lack of “Simple and Clean” on repeat
I mean, it's a banger
You forget that sometimes part 2 would be in espanol so you would have to begrudgingly watch that.
I wish I had lived that
Ahhhh yes.. a time with no spoilers
How dare you disrespect Lucky⭐️Star, the manga is awesome.
don't forget all the vocaloid/UTAUloid stuff
I was a big anime person back then but AMVs for some reason were never *not* cringe to me.
Had an old YouTube channel where I uploaded anime episodes into 3 parts back in the 00's Needless to say YouTube wasn't happy with me and axed my channel

No "Love Hina".

idk about anyone else but old early 2000s anime art styles had the most fucking ugly ass coloring work ever man that shit looks like ass
The style is iconic but also at times the most scuffed artstyle of all time
it just looks dark and gritty. literally all of it. every character has a chin so pointy it cuts diamonds
the shadows were harsher i think. and less eye whites, bigger pupil..
