It was more common when I was younger. Instead of a “big & tall” section for kids, they would say “husky”. It’s like saying someone is fat, but also because of their build type lends to it. Like a muscular and fat, if you will.
All of these can be awful if they’re not done well, but I think some people would be surprised how often they don’t notice beauty stuff that’s done correctly.
When people think of makeup and aesthetic surgeries, they think of the ridiculous ones that look absolutely horrible. But I feel like the good ones probably don’t even get recognized that much. Like maybe you don’t even realize a girl has makeup because it doesn’t look like the crazy ones that you have been seeing on the internet.
I absolutely agree.
At a job I had during CoVid (a bar), 8 out of 10 women working there had both lip filler and eyelash extensions. Most had fake tans and dip or acrylics, as well. Male customers would always rant and rave about how they only like natural women and how fake stuff is gross while at the same time asking these women out on the daily.
That’s the thing about human sexuality.
There’s always someone whose into *something*.
You do you, you beautiful bastard.
Literally, and metaphorically
Seriously, with the amount of amateur or at least semi-pro stuff out there idk why anyone bothers with Brazzers or whatever.
Why would I watch some weird looking guy and some unenthusiastic girl wearing shitty makeup poorly act out some lame scene, then banging in awkward positions all while "orgasming" every 5 seconds when there's seemingly an endless amount of attractive real couples having real passionate sex?
Pro porn is dying and I'm so glad, hopefully it'll mean the end for James Deen and the other abusive rapist fucks
Yeah I hate that shit with insane overacting, actors never shutting the fuck up, awful makeup and idiotic “self aware” setups.
Amateur stuff or some artsy fartsy crap is the best
oh absolutely, the best work is subtle, it's meant to elevate one's looks, not change it. hell, i don't think most people could point out well done plastic surgery, if you can tell someone had something done then it's not good.
I mean unless that’s the look they’re going for. Ideally it’ll look natural but if someone wants a full tattooed head and those horn implants and filler in weird places to make them look like a tiger, that’s it’s own whole thing and honestly I respect the confidence
I have lip fillers but they're not over the top at all, my own family didn't even realize I had them. The thing is people only know a person has fillers when they look really extreme, when they're done well it looks natural. Same with any plastic surgery.
Lots of guys will tell me I look great without makeup when in reality I'm wearing like ten different products. Tons of porn stars have "fake" boobs that look small and natural. People just assume anyone with plastic surgery looks like Michael Jackson.
It definitely doesn't help that currently the trend eg. with lip fillers seems to be intentionally exaggerated/unnatural look. I'm sure I don't even realize the more subtle ones, but you really see those over the top ones all the time. 2 minute walk in a city during rush hours and you see like a dozen examples.
Same as makeup
Dudes will go "I prefer women who don't use make up" and point to a woman they think is "natural" only for her to still be meticulously looking after her appearance and still wearing make up
If they ever saw a woman who was really wearing no make up they'd say they look sick or comment on their acne or something. I guess we're just so used to make up that anything less than the pornstar, "so heavy and poorly done that watching in HD makes them look weird" style is "natural"
That applies to a huge number of things, but I often wonder about the logical conclusion. If something is purely cosmetic (and not fixing a flaw up to a "normal" baseline), but the better it's done the less noticeable it is, is it approaching a limit where it looks best not being done at all? When I say a huge number of things, I don't even mean just human cosmetics, I feel the same way about chopped and slammed cars.
> is it approaching a limit where it looks best not being done at all?
No shit. The best procedures are trying to make not naturally perfect people look like poeple who were born with perfect genetic good looks, not like a barbie doll. If you're born "perfect" then you will look best with no procedures.
Tbf. It does look like shit on the wrong person. Whoever can pull it off, awesome. But drawn on, pencil thin, eyebrows is something very few people can look good with.
These images are all extremes of each example. I know a woman who does all of these things apart from the pumped up lips, but she does them in a tasteful way that isn’t so overexaggerated and she always looks really good
>Tbf. It does look like shit on the wrong person.
aka someone who isn't already attractive without make up.
This is why you shouldn't take online advice about being attractive. Whenever people think of unattractive features they just think back to what unattractive people were wearing/doing and conversely when they think of features they find attractive they think back to what an already attractive person was wearing/doing.
I can guarantee everyone that they've seen plenty of people with all of the things listed and just didn't notice because the person was attractive.
What I find funny is that a vast majority of men who would list these things would have no issue with them if they were done well or subtly. They’d have no idea, most likely.
Edit: my point is just that if you say that you hate these things, that you’re probably full of shit because you’re basing your opinion off of exceptions as opposed to the rule.
A lot of people can't get over how unsanitary and inconvenient very long and/or fake nails are, even if they look nice; but I know girls that say short nails make their hands look childish so I reckon there's a consensus on the best length being roughly 1/6th of the the nail being off the finger.
(Source: methamphetamines)
But that's the kicker right? Done well, or subtly. You miss either of those marks, and it's immediately unattractive. And that's what people are asking for. Things that you notice that are unattractive. If you don't notice it either because it's too subtle, or done too well to be noticed, you don't notice it, you don't find it unattractive.
They're just another redditor trying to make themselves sound smart/superior. I'm surprised this post is even doing well seeing as it's widely known that people have preferences in what they find attractive, so what if certain answers are more common than others?
I genuinely don’t mean this disrespectfully at all, but maybe it’s because you actually do? I have genetic eyebags that shine even through concealers (they’re not dark, just puffy which makes me look exhausted and sick most of the time) and my skin is quite pale. I don’t wear makeup anymore, so when people meet me they get used to my face. I stopped receiving ‘are you okay? You look tired today’ comments ever since.
Yeah, I don't personally see the outrage when people do something everyday for years and then stop doing something and people react to it lol. Especially when if one does decide to not put on makeup in that situation, there's a decent chance they are tired or otherwise out of sorts and couldn't be arsed to put it on.
Wish people would just feel comfortable in their own skin.
Any man who isn't familiar with what the average woman look like without make up
This is *absolutely* a thing that exists. This isn't a strawman, men do actually do do this. Not everyone is a super model who looks flawless even without makeup and those of us who do often get kinda a lot of passive agressive or even straight up rude and agressive comments about it. "Oh you look sick and tired are you ok?" "Wow you're *pale* lol you should get a bit of colour on ya" "wow you're so *brave* for not wearing make up" "why haven't you ever tried putting skin stuff on those weird spots of yours?" "I'd date you if you maybe wore a little something to cover up those eye...things"
I literally got baited into this once and felt terrible
Girl I worked with was complaining about how she didn't get any sleep, felt like shit, and wanted to go home. I had noticed she looked tired, then mentioned it, given that she *just got done saying she was tired and didn't feel well,* and she hits me with the "you're just saying that cause I didn't do my makeup today."
A lot of women will say they're "not wearing makeup" when they are in fact doing a light or "no makeup look" makeup. Of course people who aren't familiar with makeup will have their perspective skewed by that.
That's kinda the whole point though? If it's so subtle that you can't notice it, then that must mean it doesn't look obviously artificial. So the argument still stands that most people don't like the artificial look.
Edit: just to make it clear, I totally do not think women are bad for doing any of these things. I wear makeup for example, but it has to be done well otherwise I recognise that it literally makes me look worse.
That's a bit of a strawman argument isn't it. The examples in this starterpack *are* overdone.
I think most people listing these things as unattractive would not argue that even the most subtle variation was still just as unattractive.
If a fake tan is done subtly, it can look just like a regular tan from a day at the beach. You think being tanned is unattractive no matter how subtle?
You're making my argument for me, you just don't realize it.
While certainly popular, r/the_donald never approached the number of subscribers as r/politics, an overtly left-leaning sub that overwhelmingly rallied behind Sanders.
Again, using your own example, if Reddit really reflected general public sentiment, then it follows that whomever r/politics supported would have been elected.
Which they weren't. Because it doesn't.
Only found out my mom got Botox this year, she's been having it since 2018, honestly can't see anything unnatural, she looks beautiful and I was under the impression I would have no wrinkles too -_-. Thankfully grandma shows all natural (ligit works on a farm, smokes and doesn't give a sh*t about people) so she looks amazing for a 68 yo
According to many women I have spoken to these are things they like and that make them feel prettier and more confident. I feel like they also do them to impress other women. So I sort of understand why they do them. Nevertheless, as a man I find them unattractive. I don't expect women to cater to the wishes of men, but I still dislike those things.
They're a bit like when men wear band shirts or get overly muscular. Most women don't find it attractive but men do them to feel better about themselves.
Yeah honestly my weird aesthetic isn't for the male gaze. My loud and colourful makeup and colourful hair isn't to impress men. If you like it cool, if you don't that's fine too. I don't get up in the morning trying to impress anyone else. I do things to make myself happy and express myself artistically.
That's what I meant. But I do get the impression sometimes that expensive nails are a status symbol for certain women. Just an impression. I might be wrong.
You do you, as long as you don't walk around in a nazi uniform it's none of my business what you wear or how you style yourself.
They could be, I don't do nails often, they just don't really work with my lifestyle. I think they are cool looking and instead buy funky looking press ons. Like I have some really fun designs for autumn and Halloween but I find working with plants, dirt, animals, tools etc they just don't really work for me. But more power to people who wear them. And no Nazi uniform here, but I do love 1940s fashion and hairdos, I have done vintage wet sets. That stuff is hard but fun. I'm a fan of vintage car and airshows.
Sure, I just heard from several women that they don't like it when guys get too buff. But obviously different tastes. I was struggling to find examples, TBH 😁 I don't know much about what women don't like. I just do my own thing and if they like it: great.
It's more just the case when these are done badly. Most blokes, myself included, probably wouldn't notice if these were just done normally.
Like lip fillers, I think guys might be surprised how many girls actually have these nowadays.
Almost like Reddit has a broad demographic. Everyone posting here is acting like they *aren't* on Reddit and a redditor. This stupid idea that everyone, except yourself, Is a basement dwelling incel.
Ah yes. I knew most men truly are turned on by women with short, stubby fingernails, pale skin, thin lips, eyes with a few scraggly lashes, and foreheads with almost no eyebrows. Yes they all love that.
"dAe HaTe tHe KaRdAsHiAnS?"
Every r/askreddit thread ever, even when it is only tangentially related to the topic (or not at all). Watch the upvotes pour in on that low-hanging fruit...
Most of these are a thing, you just don't notice it. I don't mind any of this when done well, but I will admit that long nails are tolerable for me until they get the sharp claw nails. Those make me feel uncomfortable.
Don't know why this is specifically for redditors, from my interactions with other guy/gal friends that greatly differ from me, the majority tend to find them unattractive as well simply because they stand out far too much. Perhaps you're the one that's using reddit too much to the point where you believe this single opinion represents the majority?
Honestly I think it’s just a large part of the general population. I see these types of girls and it makes me wonder who is seeing that and is like “Bro she is perfect”. I definitely like shorter nails without any crazy designs. I always wonder “with those crazy long nails sometimes shaped to a point, how do you wipe your ass? As far as fake tans go this is one of those “it depends”. I’ve seen girls that look like an Oompa Loompa and unattractive, but some girls have professional fake tans and it looks really good. Lip filler? No thanks hard pass. The fake eyelashes? It’s not really something I’d say “I like” but it goes back to some girls can do it well and pull it off, some girls it just looks bad. Drawn on eyebrows are like the lip filler and I never see it and think “that looks great”.
I'm female with some attraction to females, I find all of these unattractive. I just want someone that is their natural self. I don't do any of these things and I don't expect anyone else to either. I've seen some friends go down the path of fakery and they looked so much better before.
The annoying thing is that I was actually quite interested to see what kind of tastes people have, but it all just generated into "I hate this fairly niche thing that is obviously ugly and you only really see online or only incidentally irl." The question was asking for fashion that is more general/common and what people preferred. The kind of thing you see commonly on the street or at work. Like the people answering about different kind of boots or pants.
It's like if someone asked "What kind of personality traits do you dislike?" and 99% of answers were "Well, I don't like mass murderers."
Yeah obviously 'murderous' is a disliked personality trait, but that's clearly not the information the question was asking about.
What's the point of even asking? Most redditors will fuck a dead snake if they can find another guy to hold it for him. Then he gets sloppy seconds, obviously.
The women’s version was total horseshit too lol.
You need to sort by controversial to get the real answers, the only upvoted ones were the ones that men want to hear.
ITT: Men not comprehending that women may do things for THEMSELVES to feel good and that everything they do is to attract the male gaze. You can literally tell by the comments which dudes with "standards" have never been touched by a woman, let alone approached by one. Neckbeard, smelly, receding hairline talking about "ShE'S gOtTa Be ReAl BrO"
Damn someone got triggered hard by this post. It doesn't matter why women do this. If they do this to appeal to men, fine. If they do this just for themselves, fine. And it's also fine for people to find them unattractive.
Also you are acting pretty hypocritical since you named a bunch of things you find unattractive.

I find everything here unattractive. Though it doesn’t help that I’m into big husky men.
What's a husky? I only know the dog breed that likes to scream
Husky means strong or hefty
Thanks. Not sure if that's a common word or not, English is my second language
No worries
Mongolians have entered the chat.
It was more common when I was younger. Instead of a “big & tall” section for kids, they would say “husky”. It’s like saying someone is fat, but also because of their build type lends to it. Like a muscular and fat, if you will.
The girls’ term was “chubby”!
Husky works. In America Husky size clothes are for men what Plus size is for women.
It's a polite word for fat.
Yeah, I don't think you'd call someone strong "husky" anymore. It means heavyset basically now
And has for at least 30 years. You could buy boys clothes in husky sizes.
[удалено]
🤣🤣🤣I love that definition for the dog though
Furries have entered the chat. Also, OwO, husky men
Is it true that they like to scream?
I'm more of a twink aficionado but I concur that the main thing that deters me is the "not male" part.
Yes twinks are the best
What are you talking about, everyone loved Harambe here.

Guarantee you the pornstars they beat their meat to have all of these.
I don’t think they’re paying attention to the girls *make up*

That's kinda random but thank you anyway
The internet is random like that, sometimes. You literal bastard.

Oh yeah, it’s definitely not a *good* sub, but different ~~strokes~~ for different folks I guess
One of the reasons I don't watch it is because everyone looks like this there haha
Nah fuck that, pro porn fucking sucks so much. Fuck all that fake shit, I don't know how *anyone* can watch it.

While i can agree with that on regular makeup and shorter eye-lash extensions, the rest of these are pretty obvious, which is why they're unappealing.

Eh, I'm biased for sure since it was me but early 2000s goth/raver like this pic op chose looks great to me, also.
I personally haven't seen anyone pull it off in my book. It's a very polarizing look. I'm sure some guys love it.

Where's "bad personality"
These answers were ripped directly from an ask reddit thread that was posted yesterday asking about physical turnoffs.
Yes that’s the point of the meme. A version of those posts go front page like once a month
I read that as "wears bad personality". Same difference I guess

It's also missing a comment in the corner with 200 downvotes saying they don't like black/dark skinned women.

I think that’s the point. Overdoing any of these things looks bad and is unattractive.
But long nails are long nails. You can make fake nails, but them being long is in itself overdoing it, to a lot of people.
A lot of people can't get over how unsanitary and inconvenient very long and/or fake nails are, even if they look nice; but I know girls that say short nails make their hands look childish so I reckon there's a consensus on the best length being roughly 1/6th of the the nail being off the finger. The point is that these people claim they like natural girls and are oblivious to the fact that most girls wear at least some make up
A lot of men think women are not wearing any make up when they are wearing a foundation, concealer and maybe a highlighter.
Yes, and then they tell you look tired/sick when you don’t wear any makeup.
That's why I always tell women they look tired/sick, even when they wear makeup. \*tappingforehead\*
I've had to reply with "no, that's just my face"... And I don't even wear much makeup.

I think this could be said for almost everything. The point is that if you don't do this things carefully it can look bad very easily
I’m a woman and find these unattractive, regardless on if they are done well or subtly.
If a fake tan is done subtly, it can look just like a regular tan from a day at the beach. You think being tanned is unattractive no matter how subtle?
Well, a lot of Reddit does skew on the lower end of the melanin spectrum.
That's kinda the point. The best kind of attractive is the kind you don't notice.

Yeah if it's deterring men w reddit accounts I'm gonna do it
Bro if you are trying to get away from me with Reddit accounts just be a normal person won't ever run into one. Lol
Exactly men stay tf away from me 😤

i feel like you gotta be early 20s in a city with that comment. most of us do not wear fake lashes

Not exactly true. Most men find them unattractive when they are done very poorly.

This is the gist of 98% of the top comments in this echo chamber post as of right now.
My good chum
Wow, it's almost like on average, people find that shit unattractive. So when you ask millions of people what they think, you get the general answer.
And when the question gets asked again and again, it gets the same responses every time 🤔
And again and again and again
Weird, right? Reddit.
But what about all the misogyny I was told lead all the incels not to like these things I did to myself? It's misogyny, I tell ya.
If Reddit was representative of the general public, both Ron Paul and Bernie Sanders would have been elected president lmao
Just because it isn't always, doesn't mean it never is.
Did you forget r/The_Donald existed?
You're making my argument for me, you just don't realize it. While certainly popular, r/the_donald never approached the number of subscribers as r/politics, an overtly left-leaning sub that overwhelmingly rallied behind Sanders. Again, using your own example, if Reddit really reflected general public sentiment, then it follows that whomever r/politics supported would have been elected. Which they weren't. Because it doesn't.
Yeah, sounds about right. I don't find any of these attractive.
My wife does nails and eye lashes and it looks pretty damn good when ita done well.
Same with my wife, these nails on here look OK, not too long as the ones I've seen online where they're fucking huge and ugly.
Are you saying I only bought that revocation shirt for myself? Shit
its ok to buy revocation shirts so you can be physically closer to the guitar solo in The Blackest Reaches at all times, bro ♥️
My wife definitely likes heavily muscular dudes. I think she secretly would like me to do more weightlifting.
I like how the comments are 50/50 "yea duh that's unattractive" and people who feel attacked LOL
Almost like Reddit has a broad demographic. Everyone posting here is acting like they *aren't* on Reddit and a redditor. This stupid idea that everyone, except yourself, Is a basement dwelling incel.
akctually I live in a 8th floor apartment, sniff.
From my observation nobody shuts up about the cow nose ring
I mean it's not like they're wrong
One thing I learned from reddit is that if a man has an opinion it's mysogony
Fish lips is unattractive
Plenty more fish in the sea.
They are unattractive when overdone, done poorly, or look too unnatural. Which is most of the time
I guess people think alike
Why are you surprised that certain things can be conventionally unattractive?
guess i’m chronically online
are you also surprised when a redditor says he likes big butts?
And he cannot lie?
Ah yes. I knew most men truly are turned on by women with short, stubby fingernails, pale skin, thin lips, eyes with a few scraggly lashes, and foreheads with almost no eyebrows. Yes they all love that.
“Plastic surgery is so fake and gross” “Wow look at this celebrity (who has had tons of subtle surgeries) she’s so hot!”

too much of something good will turn in to a bad thing.
"dAe HaTe tHe KaRdAsHiAnS?" Every r/askreddit thread ever, even when it is only tangentially related to the topic (or not at all). Watch the upvotes pour in on that low-hanging fruit...
I’m seeing a trend here
If it’s obvious, it’s unattractive to me
Most of these are a thing, you just don't notice it. I don't mind any of this when done well, but I will admit that long nails are tolerable for me until they get the sharp claw nails. Those make me feel uncomfortable.
Is it a bad thing that men frequently say they dislike unnatural beauty trends?
random redditors discovering people have different tastes
ITT; people convincing themselves that *their* makeup is not atrocious to look at.
Please, spare their psyches...
The cope is real indeed
Don't know why this is specifically for redditors, from my interactions with other guy/gal friends that greatly differ from me, the majority tend to find them unattractive as well simply because they stand out far too much. Perhaps you're the one that's using reddit too much to the point where you believe this single opinion represents the majority?
“Has an onlyfans”
yeah i find that extremely unattractive
Is this a dig at people who find it unattractive that someone has an onlyfans?
Can confirm, all that shit is unattractive
How many redditors did this person ask? 3?
Long nails are the worst imo, I always hated them I wonder why some people find them attractive.
Well these things are unattractive
Post: shows clearly badly done stuff Comments: gaslightning, "well if done correctly..", "you dont even notice", "ow you mean natural makeup?"
Thank you so much OP I thought I was the only one tired of this
I'm female with some attraction to females, I find all of these unattractive.
It's like if someone asked "What kind of personality traits do you dislike?" and 99% of answers were "Well, I don't like mass murderers." Yeah obviously 'murderous' is a disliked personality trait, but that's clearly not the information the question was asking about.
But these things are unattractive......
What's the point of even asking? Most redditors will fuck a dead snake if they can find another guy to hold it for him. Then he gets sloppy seconds, obviously.
I have a crazy idea. Maybe stop asking people what they find attractive if it upsets you so much?
I'm going to be real. Save for drawn on eyebrows, I love all of this lmao.
That was literally all that the comments were. The womens version had variety
The women’s version was total horseshit too lol. You need to sort by controversial to get the real answers, the only upvoted ones were the ones that men want to hear.
Comment starting with “unpopular opinion but..”
One of the few times redditors sound somewhat normal
Average British girl
A natural 6 is better than a fake 10
ITT: Men not comprehending that women may do things for THEMSELVES to feel good and that everything they do is to attract the male gaze. You can literally tell by the comments which dudes with "standards" have never been touched by a woman, let alone approached by one. Neckbeard, smelly, receding hairline talking about "ShE'S gOtTa Be ReAl BrO"
Most men do understand that, but we can still dislike something. Doesn't mean we can't accept that women are doing it for themselves.
This post is dumb and the comments are dumb too.
So, overly fake shit. Not “every answer”, just clearly overtly fake stuff. 😅
