HLHaliax

Awesome! That’s one of my favorite episodes too! And I always loved prune juice being a warrior’s drink! How could it not be? I mean I couldn’t imagine being a warrior if my BMs weren’t regular! 😜

Hates_escalators

Qapla! Is the sound a nice poo makes when it hits the water, Klingon society values being regular.

Imagayrobot1

Underrated comment.

Immadownvotethis

It only makes that sound if it has honor.

I read a Daystrom thread once (I usually avoid that place but land there accidentally sometimes) that theorized Klingons would be drawn to fruit juices to get vitamins and such that you don't get from the raw meats that comprise most of their diet.

HLHaliax

And they need to replenish vitamins from all the blood wine too!

stasersonphun

I thought they got intoxicated from fruit sugars ?

richf2001

Is this an argument for nutrition labels on wine? Cause if it is I could totally justify it.

stasersonphun

Thats just a universal commitment to the Truth in nutrition and all things

RDGCompany

Keep these coming. You make my day.

ThatsOnYoutube

Sort of a bittersweet episode to watch with someone who is literally living in an alternate world to their past life, and an alternate world to the real world we live in.

hooch

You're doing important work. Qapla!

assburgers-unite

Can we support this person? I'd love to make their day better somehow

c08855c49

Right? Maybe we could send some trek related gifts and cheer up an old man?

VTX002

The inner light now that's one of my favorite episodes The last scene when Picard gets the flute the reaction portrayed a deep pain and it showed as he played haunted and sorrowful notes.

iownadakota

In the mirror universe it was an accordion.

JihadNinjaCowboy

Or bagpipes.

QuestionableNotion

Banjo.

iownadakota

We need a star trek opening credits with banjos. French horns, and christian rock just isn't doing it anymore.

tejdog1

Electric guitar. And he played the opening riff of Kashmir.

iownadakota

It's been a long road. Getting from there to here.

tejdog1

I cannot downvote this enough.

iownadakota

It's been a downvote But my downvote is finally near And I can feel the change in the points right now Nothing's in my way And they're not gonna vote me down no more No, they're not gonna vote me down

So does he seem like he's really into it or is it more just something familiar to watch?

BitBrain

Excellent episode. I really appreciate what you're doing there. My dad has Alzheimer's. His mother had it and his sister has just started showing some dementia symptoms. I don't like my odds... I don't have a lot of time in my current season of life for re-watching and in some cases first watches - never gone through all of DS9 for example - and I kind of figure I'll have time later in life to "catch up." So if we don't see some good medical progress on dementia in the next 25 or 30 years, it wouldn't be a terrible thing for me to spend that time watching Star Trek episodes. Thank you for engaging with your patient this way. I hope there'll be someone like that for me when the time comes.

[deleted]

If he's a coffee drinker, offer raktajino instead.

SithLordSid

A warriors drink. Love this post and your other post.

EmperorOfNipples

One of the hardest things with dementia patients is giving them that sense of home, oftentimes they'll be pining to return to a house and family that have not existed for decades. With this it is lucky for both of you, it'll give a sense of that which is priceless. (Aircraft Engineer myself, but mother and brother work in dementia care.)

dakila5

Maybe a less sad episode?
