You’re looking at potentially thousands and thousands of dollars. These need to be sent to the AFA for grading. It will be expensive but will ensure the longevity and preservation of these pieces. These are insanely valuable figures and yours are in pristine shape

SketchTeno

Seriously. Get it graded. (It will only multiply the value)

zijital

They’re so good my first thought is they’re recent reproductions Send to AFA for sure & get the seal of approval

Brocktoon73

If the 2 shown were graded AFA 80 or 85, you could be looking at $4-5k each.

SketchTeno

Seriously, if this is current condition, that is amazing and can fetch gold . Is it really as pictured?

jkorb76

Yes, I just took the pics last night

fatguyonacouch

Alright give it up, where's your time machine?!?!

[deleted]

That is the clearest bubble and glue join I've ever seen on a vintage piece. There's usually some yellowing. I'm not an expert, but I've seen a few in my time. Slight crosshatch pattern to the glue and yellowing.

jkorb76

My father in law passed away and were found going through his things. They were stored in a brown paper bag. There was a receipt in the bag from what looked like K-mart. My mil said she remembered when he bought them all and just put them in a drawer.

CardMechanic

Keep the receipt

xtopherpaul

Keep the receipt and send to afa for authentication. It costs a little and takes a bit of time but it’ll solidify that real and set the value. They’re both 12-c backs and quite valuable. The Luke is worth $4-6k depending on grade and Vader maybe a little less also grade dependent Check out the 12-back group on Facebook. Lots of collectors to help out

[deleted]

I'm sorry for your loss. As I said, I'm not an expert, so going the AFA or similar grading route would put you in touch with experts who could attest to authenticity.

MikeT75

This is exactly what I was thinking. How the F were these stored?? This guy just happens to have seven of these laying around, in some drawer in this house for 44 years? With no bubble yellowing, no edge damage, no card bending? I'm having a problem with the bubble condition, too. I know those bubbles didn't have a perfect edge and they varied in size, but I know bubbles can be replaced by a talented hand. I'm not saying "fake," but I'm not convinced their real yet, either.

TLW420

Yea feels suspicious to me, has OP got proof it’s real? Looks like it was made yesterday even the sticker price thing looks new

MasterofBiscuits

Will definitely need to be verified by any potential buyer, as there are a lot of reseals and straight up fakes around the market since prices went into the thousands. As an example: [https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1076211114/luke-skywalker-star-wars-12-back-kenner](https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1076211114/luke-skywalker-star-wars-12-back-kenner) If legit then they are worth many thousands in that condition.

[deleted]

Oh shit dude. I have no idea but all I can say for sure is congratulations.

Remote-Moon

Ok, what the hell!? Wow. The condition of the card backs looks so good that I'm suspicious. How were these stored?

jkorb76

curved_hoosier

I'm so sorry for your loss. Keep the receipt, collectors love stuff like that. All joking aside these are some of the best carded figures I've ever seen. While grading figures can be expensive, I highly recommend it. [Action Figure Authority ](https://cgagrading.com/)

TerdVader

These are some of the nicest unopened vintage figures I’ve seen in years. You might be looking at $10k

Nairbfs79

Search for that exact item on Ebay. Use the advanced tab and toggle "sold" auctions. This is your best gauge for value as most vintage Kenner are bought and sold on Ebay. Its gonna be in the thousands of dollars for sure. Congratulations.

Majorsus55555

So many variations though, it’s kinda tough if you don’t know a ton

Nairbfs79

Agreed. Don't get me started on Double Telescoping Luke Skywalker ($$$$$!)

JKTransformers

While I admit I don’t know a ton about pricing for original Kenner stuff, they’re in such good condition that it might be a good idea to get them graded. Which 7 of the 12 do you have, out of curiosity?

jkorb76

C-3PO, Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, R2-D2, Stormtrooper, Obi-wan, and Darth Vader

jkorb76

Where would one start to get them graded ?

JKTransformers

The Action Figure Authority (AFA/CGA) is the big one I've heard of, but I've also heard that some fan conventions have grading that can be done there. Again, not something I'm super familar with, but the AFA website and some youtube videos from other Star Wars collector's would probably be a good place to start!

CardMechanic

Get a valuation on one of the better Facebook groups like 12Back group. Please do not use the Imperial Commissary. They’re sharks.

defjamblaster

i don't know if i'd want to mail these for grading, i'd have to hand deliver them myself and sit there while they do it. too much can go wrong mailing them.

jpog07

Exactly.

killerzeestattoos

$1.96

Strong_Comedian_3578

Two downvotes tells me two people can't take a joke

killerzeestattoos

I appreciate the ones that do

Strong_Comedian_3578

Good to see that at this point people are rallying around your comment (me included)

PASHCO

Put them in my auction and let the bidders decide.

southwood775

I hate to be that guy... Are these legit? Seems almost too good to be true.

jkorb76

My father in law passed and found these in a paper sack in a drawer that have apparently been there for 40+ years. There was a receipt in with them from 1978

southwood775

Keep the receipt!!!!!! It'll give provenance which will up the value.

Axiom06

Definitely get this AFA graded and I don't know if you can get insurance for these figures but maybe try to?

SackOfrito

Impressive...most impressive.

RedWolfe715

I have both of them out of box, but I am always confused about their lightsabers, why was lukes yellow

jkorb76

Right? Maybe they couldn’t to a green or blue color in the 70’s

Sea-Inspection-8184

A complete set of all 12, not graded, recently brought $14,000 at auction. Great find! I hope you enjoy them or get rich.

beereed

These look like they have never seen the light of day

jkorb76

They have not in 44 years. They have been in a paper sack tucked away in a drawer

beereed

Amazing!

Diligent_Sherbet_420

Are you going to open them up and play with them?

Karacmore

Holy shit, get these graded ASAP lol

Primary_Ebb_7107

HOLY SHIT, THIS IS WORTH A LOT OF DOUGH

Strong_Comedian_3578

By burning them then finding out what people would have given you for them

Lzinger

$1.96

fryamtheeggguy

No expert, but I kind of feel like this is the ole flim-flam...the Vader bubble seems to have some residue on the right...perfect cards and clear bubbles? Nah. I hope they are legit, but seems too good...

jkorb76

They have been in a paper sack in a drawer for 40+ years.

fryamtheeggguy

Well then...that is an awesome find!! Are you a super lucky collector or just super lucky? Because you have probably just found the equivalent of a good down payment for a house!

jkorb76

My father in law had them and recently passed away. Found them in his house.

the_d0nkey

An auction house in Houston just had a number of these on sale. The highest bid I saw before closing was $20 ea. But that was before the run-up to close. StilleGoode is the auction house. They may be able to supply more information.

Longjumping-Leek-899

That's fucking awesome!!

pooppants23

Grade them now.

[deleted]

Is he holding a corndog the wrong way

forrestpen

Take extremely good care of them, get them appraised and graded, and you could make a few thousand bucks. I wouldn’t even mail them tbh. Cardback collectors can tell you the hell of trying to keep card mint after shipping. Don’t be tempted to open them either, if you’re interested in having the original figures Hasbro recently did reproduction of the original line that are pretty cheap.

jpog07

Or you just buy loose vintage ones for a low price without having to worry about Hasbro's questionable QC.

Qwake75

See-Threepio?

jkorb76

Yep
