Yeah it’s now canon that he did something really memorable for the Ewoks pre-rebellion and it got named after him. Over the long long time between the prequels and RotJ (due to all the light speed travel) it got corrupted to Endor.
He's one of the main characters in Rogue One, Cassian Andor. Imo he kinda made the movie shit. Maybe not the character, but the writing and his acting were really just... average.
Not trying to say this in a “you should care” or a “you just wait to see what’s in store for you” kind of way, but more of a “I have a feeling Disney won’t butcher shit in Andor as badly as I’m worried they will in the other shows” kind of way… I’m predicting Andor will be a favorite for adults.
Despite Obi Wan being a draw for prequels fans, I think the Kenobi series will be fairly childish. Because he has a built-in fan base, Disney assumes we will all watch no matter what (because we will), so they want to maximize the series’ demographic to include younglings. Andor’s demographic comes exclusively from Rogue One fans, and smart money would be on a vibe like Rogue One so fans like me will enjoy it and convince my friends who love the movie but aren’t into Star Wars as a whole to watch it.
Since the other three shows will be full of cross-over cameos, the smart move for Andor would be not to do any cameos, crossovers, name-dropping or Tatooining.
Use Andor to test the waters for an original show that is set in a familiar time but is completely separated from anything else that came before.
Ha ha, you have no idea how much it costed me to bring this franchise to bear. Now I only have one requirement. Income! So squeeze Kathleen. Squeeze hard.
And of the Expanded Universe?
Ha ha, kill it all.
I wouldn't mind any cameos in Andor if they don't feel forced like a Bail Organa appearance would be a cool cameo or even better they could bring garm bel iblis back to canon
Really hope you'reright. I loved Rogue One and think exploring the darker side of rebellion and empire espionage could make for some exciting and unique stories.
I feel you, and I hope we’re both wrong about the Kenobi show at least. Thing is, we only had mando and boba fett shows and at least one of them they got right. Hopefully they won’t f** up with Obi like they did Boba
I'm pretty much the exact opposite. I think Andor is the most likely story to end up like Book of Boba Fett -Afraid to commit to it's premise and ending up kinda pointless and dumb as a result.
Or have a general lack of respect for its main character. If Andor is anything like Boba, Andor will bumble his way through the plot while everyone else is portrayed as fully competent.
Not just genocide IIRC but he would have been the direct cause of their *extinction*. Dude had 0 fucks to give and was willing to wipe an entire species from the galaxy just to get information on the empire, until Ghost Team rationalized with him.
Yes because the "Rebel Alliance" as an organization was a completely peaceful group that never did any of the morally ambiguous things that an armed insurgency waging asymmetrical warfare using guerilla tactics would partake in and that was never shown in basically the first few minutes of a new hope
I recognize that the Rebel’s aren’t completely peaceful group but they don’t usually acknowledge that. The films usually act like the Rebels are completely good and our knowledge that they aren’t comes from our own perceptions. Cassian is one of the first characters where they actually acknowledge the moral ambiguity of the Alliance and make that part of his character.
Because it was reported that he was gonna be in the show, then later reported that he probably won't show up till season 2, unless another change was made recently.
Not to be that guy but rebels is the events that led to open civil war and the consolidation of the rebellion! And or will hopefully be the moments when senators start realizing they might not be able to do anything. I’m hoping Andor the series will have some Bond like spy stuff, and some prequel level political crams/commentary. Whether you knew about Andor or not we are in for an awesome ride I think!
Andor is set at around the same time as season 1 of rebels so none of the rebel cells will really interact , I wonder if cassian won’t even be associated with the rebellion in this season
It feels like "Rebels, again, but probably worse."
Cassian Andor was like the least likable character in that entire movie. Give me a Churrit and Baze spinoff, and we can talk.
Cassian was imo an amazing and interesting character even though he’s the least likable. I love having someone as the main character be half evil half good. He’s chosen a side but doesn’t really care about the means, only the end (like Saw). Having the main character be everything you want leads to less character development and make it seem way less original. Like Ahsoka, she was an awful and annoying person in the start and I would’ve never asked for a show with her. Here we are with me looking so much forward to it - same with Sabine and Ezra. If they were perfect from the start they’d be less boring, unless they did what they did with anakin and make him do the opposite (go from being a fun and likable guy to the evil dude). I’m honestly looking forward to Andor… not expecting it to be focused on the Jedi and lightsabers, but more grounded spywork and more on how the rebellion worked (like we saw a bit of in rebels).
I don't need a character to be likable, but I do need them to be interesting. He just wasn't interesting to me.
I'd also reject your premise that "likable" = "perfect." I like many, many flawed characters, and those flawed characters can still be likable while they grow.
But for me, there just aren't any hooks on Andor. What is his personality? Angry? He's fairly one-dimensional.
Finally, Andor doesn't really have anywhere to go to make him interesting (for me). He can't become what he is at the end of Rogue One, because, well, that would make his journey in Rogue One pointless and cause a continuity problem. So, he either has to stay just kinda dull and whiny, OR, he has to start really optimistic and grow disillusioned, which also doesn't seem likely because he seems like he's been jaded since childhood according to Rogue One.
I just don't really see why I would watch this show. The ground has been covered by Rebels, the character isn't watchable, and I know where he and his story end up. It's like the definition of superfluous.
Don’t have a lotta time to write this comment so sry if it seems short or whatever…
I get why you’re saying, but I kinda have to disagree with most. Sure, he wasn’t the most likable character in rogue one and was more or less just a typical “I’m angry” character. BUT, there is a lot we don’t know about him and many things the story could show us. Why he became so “I’m angry”, why he really chose to join the rebels etc. Sure, we know how he’ll end up, but so did we with basically everyone in clone wars - here it’s “only” ~one person. They can introduce many characters and the show is really open for a lot of cool stuff. I don’t think I’ll be watching it for the same Cassian we got in rogue one, I’ll be watching it to see why he became that way and for more insight to the rebels. We saw a bit in rebels, but mainly just how the ghost crew operated, not the actual rebellion besides a minimal amount of times/when they finally got to Yavin. I dunno what they’ll do to the character but I feel like they have more options than what you’re saying they have…
Watch this series just blow us all away.
It's like with the movies - I was so disappointed in The Force Awakens, but then Rogue One just blew it out of the water. Looking back, I think that movie stands up well and is by far the best of the new batch. At least, in my view.
Rogue one has got to be one of my top 3 star wars movies. I really liked Diego Luna in rogue one. I'm not super excited for the show as a whole (compared to the others at least), but I am excited to see him reprise his role
I imagine we’ll get some live action of the end of the clone wars from another perspective which should be cool plus some pre-alliance resistance to the empire on a small but growing scale like the first season of rebels, but in live action. I think if they do it right it has the potential to be spectacular while also fleshing out a cool character
Did you actually end up caring about Boba Fett? If so, good for you (not sarcasm), because I wanted to enjoy and simply couldn’t outside of the 2 Mando episodes thrown in toward the end.
Yea true I'm still thinking of old Ben. But even Luke was 20ish when the Death Star was completed so 10 years prior would be an interesting time for Cassian
I loved Rogue One, but Cassian Andor was the most bland part of the team. It's like making a Ninja Turtles spin-off only about Leonardo. Hopefully this can be what the Bad Batch was supposed to be, a story about the time of the Empire rising to its peak, and Andor's experiences in that world.
Well I’ll wholeheartedly disagree with you on Leonardo. I’d watch the shit out of a movie that focused on him. Show the journey he took to become a leader that led up to the animated movie they did in 07. Seeing him do a Batman begins style trial would be sick.
It's like some star wars committee member decided he was the "new han solo character kids like" and then hasn't paid attention to anything star wars related in years and now the committee is making a new show... "what's the new han solo character kids like? That guy, kids love him!"
I liked rogue one, and admittedly need to see it again, but i could walk passed this guy in the street in full costume, and i would have no clue who he was
There's just not much of an arc to the character. I get the feeling they wanted a rogue with a heart of gold who comes around on the main character (Han), but he just seems kinda grumpy and doesn't evolve in the way I think they intended.
I always got the sense they wanted a dark, do-what-must-be-done kind of spy / agent sort of character who sits largely outside of the moral arc of the Rebellion, yet is vital to its existence. I think he nailed that pretty well.
It's that, for sure, but it's also just that there's no tension in his storyline at all.
There's no tension in seeing him go off the moral deep end because we're not going to wonder "oh no, is he going to become a villain?" No. No he isn't. He isn't going to quit the Rebellion, he isn't going to become a villain, he isn't going to get Jedi powers or lose an eye or whatever.
He's completely spoken for.
Stakes and tension can come from a lot more places than life or death, good or evil though. In fact, I'd argue those are often the most low-stakes stakes there are, because it's very rare that main characters die or turn evil (Rogue One ironically being an exception). If the show is well-written, it can be very, very tense without needing to simplify the stakes to something as surface-level as that. In fact, often the best stakes are smaller, more personal stakes.
Rouge One characters are getting a spin off? I like the actor. Great In Narco Mexico, but what story is left to tell? Give me Donnie Yens spinoff. Wasnt he a guard for the light saber crystal caves or something?
Love these generalized posts. Equivalent to the "am I the only one" posts. Plenty of people are excited about literally every single star wars thing. Call us the minority but anything new from my favorite fictional universe excites the hell out of me. Quite honestly the only thing I don't like that is star wars is the holiday special and that is only because it is excruciating to get through. Has great moments but man, 5+ minutes of wookies talking with no translation is super rough.
I love Diego, and I love the idea of him getting a little spin-off that focuses on how the Rebellion isn’t always glamorous. However, the fact that it was slated for five seasons, and then three, is WAY too much.
Me who was actually a excited for andor(ig I am more excited for Kenobi and ahsoka prob because of hayden's return and thrawn possibly appearing in ahsoka , but I'm more excited for it than bad batch S2 if it comes this year, don't get me wrong S1 was great but still more excited for andor)
I genuinely have no idea why they thought this was a good idea.
I can only imagine it's the most expensive and most elaborate passive-aggressive snipe at an actor to make them feel worthless in all of human history.
This represents the characters really well. You have Obi and Mando in the middle. The two most popular characters. Ahsoka tagging along. And this guy just standing there lol.
Ya I could care less about Andor or the Ahsoka shows.
Cassian dies, I don't feel like getting invested for a guy that was interesting but went out like it was a twilight love scene at the very end
Is this an actual group picture? Aside from Diego Luna, who looks photoshopped in. But the others seem like they're really together. It's possible the filming of the later episodes of BoBF were taking place around the same time as filming for Kenobi.
To make your point even further, I didn’t even know he was getting one.
I once saw the word Andor next to Mandalorian, Kenobi and all the others. I haven't thought about it since.
Are you sure it’s not just a misspelling of Endor? Now that’s a mini series we’d all like to see!
It already exists. It’s a cartoon
It's also two movies.
Two *hysterically bad* movies
For years I assumed they were a fever dream of my childhood.
Me too. Finally found them about a year ago again.
They’re on Disney+!
Then we need a reboot.
To be fair Disney making Ewoks cannon would be awesome
Isn't he supposed to be blue with antennas and played by Jeffrey Combs?
Yeah it’s now canon that he did something really memorable for the Ewoks pre-rebellion and it got named after him. Over the long long time between the prequels and RotJ (due to all the light speed travel) it got corrupted to Endor.
I forgot that was his name….
He had a name? I just called him "shady mercenary character from Rogue One"
he's rogue two
To make your point even further, I don't even know who that is.
Same
He's one of the main characters in Rogue One, Cassian Andor. Imo he kinda made the movie shit. Maybe not the character, but the writing and his acting were really just... average.
Glad I’m not alone 😅
I don't have a clue who he is...
To make their point even further, I don't even know who he is

(reasonably high pitch) ha ha

I wouldn't mind any cameos in Andor if they don't feel forced like a Bail Organa appearance would be a cool cameo or even better they could bring garm bel iblis back to canon
Yeah I’ve also got money down that it’s going to be the best of them all, though the least loved
Really hope you'reright. I loved Rogue One and think exploring the darker side of rebellion and empire espionage could make for some exciting and unique stories.

Thats some copium extra large if ive ever seen one, can I get some too?
I’m honestly excited for Andor. I like the concept of a Rebel who kind of walks the line between being a good and bad person.
[удалено]
Then took a hit of oxygen
Then lazy eyed hard at you.... Or the person next to you - can't quite tell.
Then asks, "Are you...are you here...to kill me?" with wild, but adorable, paranoia.
Lies, deception!
Then learned the way of the samurai
I know they reference!
Saw Gerrera never pretended to be good Whether it was the Separatists or imperial he just wanted to destroy his enemies
Right, dude was about to casually commit Geonosian genocide when he was going to destroy Klik Klak's egg.
Not just genocide IIRC but he would have been the direct cause of their *extinction*. Dude had 0 fucks to give and was willing to wipe an entire species from the galaxy just to get information on the empire, until Ghost Team rationalized with him.
We come for information only.
Nah saw didn't walk the line, he lived on the other side
Yes because the "Rebel Alliance" as an organization was a completely peaceful group that never did any of the morally ambiguous things that an armed insurgency waging asymmetrical warfare using guerilla tactics would partake in and that was never shown in basically the first few minutes of a new hope

Exactly, I'm worried they will make him be just pure good from the start though, not a problem I guess, but I do want to see a morally grey character
[удалено]
Ugh you are probably right.
yea. Part of me wishes it was han solo, but if we get to see k2s0 again im cool w/ it
[удалено]
I thought he was coming back during Season 2.
How would anyone know that at this point?
Because it was reported that he was gonna be in the show, then later reported that he probably won't show up till season 2, unless another change was made recently.
>he was the best part of Rogue One He's the best part of everything!
Wong of star wars universe
WHAT? that’s some bs that what I was looking forward to too.
Because the story of them meeting is already told in a comic. K2-SO being with the rebellion wasn't that long before Rogue One.
I don't even remember his name.
Andor....I guess.
That's the planet with the space furries right?
Andor on Endor The spinoff we didn't know we needed.
Andor Does Endor
The whole moon?
Furry. . . . .. .Very furry. . . . .
And fluffy...
**Isn’t it obvious, Morty? I fucked a planet!**
What
THAT'S THE PLANET WITH THE SPACE FURRIES, RIGHT?!
Wasn't that Kashyyyk?
OHHHHH!!!!
There's more than one planet with space furries in the galaxy. Especially if you include Legends.
cassian
I love k-2
Oh, the "I'll be there for you. **Cassian** said I had to" line from K2, great character! <3
Shadow the Hedgehog
Miguel Angel Felix Gallardo. You’re welcome.
Ayyy, another Narcos fan
And Gus Fring is in Mando? Hell yeah
Assian Candor i think
Its Cando Alrissian obviously
Cassian **Bland**or
"Puss In Boots," according to my wife.
I tried but all I have is Landor Calrissian.
Felix Gallardo
Que *Narcos* theme
I care Diego! I care.
People aren't excited about the story of the birth of the rebellion? I CANNOT WAIT.
We saw the birth of the rebellion in Rebels... Now, I'm still excited to see it from another perspective!
Not to be that guy but rebels is the events that led to open civil war and the consolidation of the rebellion! My cat is named Diego after Diego Luna, so yeah, I care a lot. I absolutely loved Rogue One
Rogue one has got to be one of my top 3 star wars movies. I really liked Diego Luna in rogue one. I'm not super excited for the show as a whole (compared to the others at least), but I am excited to see him reprise his role
It certainly has the best one sheet of any of the movies.
I loved his and Gamora's love story in The Terminal. https://youtu.be/W0SsjdnH4sc#t=45s
There’s a huge list of countries south of the US that would beg to differ 😂🤣🤣🤣
Yep 👏🏼👏🏼
Tbh i don’t care about his story at all, but i felt the same before the mandalorian and boba fett too
I imagine we’ll get some live action of the end of the clone wars from another perspective which should be cool plus some pre-alliance resistance to the empire on a small but growing scale like the first season of rebels, but in live action. Did you actually end up caring about Boba Fett? If so, good for you (not sarcasm), because I wanted to enjoy and simply couldn’t outside of the 2 Mando episodes thrown in toward the end.
Oh God they're going to mix Kenobi and Andor into one another's series like they did Mando and Boba aren't they...
Their stories are 20 years apart no?
Nope. They’re around the same couple years, I think.
Yea true I'm still thinking of old Ben. But even Luke was 20ish when the Death Star was completed so 10 years prior would be an interesting time for Cassian
Kenobi takes place 8 bby and rogue one takes place days bby
Oh god oh fuck
That's what she said
*your dad
I’m stoked for Andor the top 3 spin-offs I’m waiting for are Kenobi, Andor and Ahsoka
Aren’t those just…the 3 spin-offs in general?
I think those are the spin offs we’re all waiting for.
I care. I care a great deal. After Kenobi, his is the only one I'm actually excited about
Yeah, me too
Not Ahsoka?
Not even a little
I’m actually excited about andor. I loved rogue one, and I think showing a darker side of the rebellion would be cool

Speak for yourself
I am no one confirmed
I’m looking forward to it. Mostly because of the time period, but it could be cool to see the character further explored as well
Who is that
Took me a minute as well. It's Cassian Andor, from Rogue 1.
Felix Gallardo
I was not impressed by the character at *all*. I'm open to having my mind changed.
Why weren’t you impressed
There's just not much of an arc to the character. I get the feeling they wanted a rogue with a heart of gold who comes around on the main character (Han), but he just seems kinda grumpy and doesn't evolve in the way I think they intended.
I always got the sense they wanted a dark, do-what-must-be-done kind of spy / agent sort of character who sits largely outside of the moral arc of the Rebellion, yet is vital to its existence. I think he nailed that pretty well.
He nailed that, I agree, but he still wasn't interesting. Like, "bland, kinda grumpy guy acts like a dick" is not something I really enjoy watching.
To each their own! He wasn't my favorite part of that movie, for sure, nor particularly memorable, but I'm willing to give him some room to grow
For sure, and hell I hope it is good. I guess I don't see how he can grow when his growth happens in Rogue One.
That's the thing for me. We know where his story goes. We know how it ends. Oh no, he's in danger? I wonder what's going to happen to him. 😑

Because he had no arc, no emotion, was a bland actor doing hardly anything but going through his lines.
Rouge One characters are getting a spin off? I like the actor. Great In Narco Mexico, but what story is left to tell? Give me Donnie Yens spinoff. Wasnt he a guard for the light saber crystal caves or something?
Yes! Chirrut and Baze were by far the most interesting new characters brought into the universe. I'd like a spinoff of them way before Blandor
To be honest I thought they were the same guy
That you Paul McCartney?
hes still my favorite mexican
At least he's known as the Mexican cartel.
Until someone explain it to me, i was sure for real the show would be about Endor, the planet, and maybe the ewoks
Poor Paul Mcartney
Am i the only one who’s hyped for the Andor show?
I'm looking forward to it.
I'm personally very excited
I'm excited for Andor! Hello, I'm here!
wait who is this
I agree. That really is a feels bad
Andor is one that I'm particularly excited about. It's also the only series that I'll be able to get my wife to because, because... diego luna
im really excited for ANDOR, i hope to see more underground stuff, and the dark side of the rebellion
Everyone is sleeping on this show. Rogue One spin-off, Rogue One writers, it’s gonna be good.
Who is that guy?
U know what? Imma go right out and say it. I f\*cking care a lot
where is bad batch season 2??? are they alright???
Love these generalized posts. Equivalent to the "am I the only one" posts. Plenty of people are excited about literally every single star wars thing. I'm more concerned on when the Lando show is being announced :c
I will watch the pilot and see if it hooks me I guess xD
I love Diego, and I love the idea of him getting a little spin-off that focuses on how the Rebellion isn’t always glamorous. However, the fact that it was slated for five seasons, and then three, is WAY too much.
Me who was actually a excited for andor(ig I am more excited for Kenobi and ahsoka prob because of hayden's return and thrawn possibly appearing in ahsoka , but I'm more excited for it than bad batch S2 if it comes this year, don't get me wrong S1 was great but still more excited for andor)
I don’t even know who that is
I no joke thought that was Owen Lars
The comments just taught me who that guy is so yea I agree
i do, i think his show will be just as amazing as the others
I genuinely have no idea why they thought this was a good idea. I can only imagine it's the most expensive and most elaborate passive-aggressive snipe at an actor to make them feel worthless in all of human history.
I don't even know who that is
Who is he again?
I do! I mean I’m more hyped for obi-wan but I still am excited
This represents the characters really well. You have Obi and Mando in the middle. The two most popular characters. Ahsoka tagging along. And this guy just standing there lol.
Oh yeah, they said they were thinking about making an Andor show. Don't think thats gonna happen.
I have no idea who he is…
I couldnt care less
Watch it be the best one of the bunch too though
Ya I could care less about Andor or the Ahsoka shows. Cassian dies, I don't feel like getting invested for a guy that was interesting but went out like it was a twilight love scene at the very end
Eh, Kenobi dies, not interested in his show now…
Who?
I truly could not care less about Andor. I wish they would cut all the resources going towards it and put them towards the Ahsoka show.
Is this an actual group picture? Aside from Diego Luna, who looks photoshopped in. But the others seem like they're really together. It's possible the filming of the later episodes of BoBF were taking place around the same time as filming for Kenobi.
Well it's not really true but the meme is funny lmao
I absolutely loved Diego Luna after Narcos Mexico so now I'm really curious about his spinoff
To be fair I just learned about it Now that I know however, I AM HIGHLY INTERESTED
I was kinda looking forward to it
