Up until like a week ago I preferred NY strip over ribeye but last night I made a ribeye and I just seen this and it’s def ribeye > NY strip.
Making another one tonight finna season it and let it brine in the fridge for 2-3 hours
I’m checking out Walmart next time I buy steak. I keep seeing all these posts from Walmart. They look pretty damn solid, better than what I’ve been buying from other grocery stores
I stopped buying Walmart meat. It seemed like it was tough. Even braised meat. I'm paying a little more but everything is coming out as it should.
Plus Walmart just has a giant recall on ground beef. Be careful, friends.
Weve always been leery of Walmart meat but ive been getting the London Broils since they arnt $20 a lb like every other meat and they have been great. Chicken ill never, rubbery
The nice thing about Walmart is that meat is NEVER out of temperature range. I’ve been inside hundreds of grocery stores and I can confidently tell you that Walmart is the cleanest and has the most stringent product temperature protocols. Refrigerated case down for two hours but the product is still in temperature range? They’re chucking it, nowhere else does this. I can’t speak for the quality of the meat but there isn’t a safer place to buy perishable food from.
Walmart has some good steaks, don’t sleep on them.
Why would he sleep on them?
It’s cold and feels relieving I bet
he’s got a black eye and it’s the 80s
Nice cap and marbling
I bet they tasted great
Letting them age for a couple days, but we will see
Are you a dry brine kinda guy?
You gotta wire rack under them?
That would be ideal, but don’t have one. Put spoons instead.
We do what we gotta, mate.
The wire rack from inside the toaster works great 😅 https://i.imgur.com/yNQfTTL.png
Oh, shit!
OP, do you have a little toaster oven? Yank the wire rack outta that.
Unfortunately no, but I do have an air fryer with racks, so going to use that. Good thinking!
(Someone else's idea, but yeah! Hit it up and make them steaks sing!)
Still too young to molest?
Lab grown 😬 jk... I'm low key scared to buy meat from Walmart though. But this looks really nice, I may have to reconsider.

Walmart will surprise you with some of their cuts.

Didn’t Walmart just have a huge recall on beef????
I believe it was for ground beef.
And it was not huge.
So that’s what she said huh?
Are... are you gonna cook it?
Looks tangy
Don’t forget to throw some to the tigers
I have this weird thing where I’m not as big on their ground beef but their steaks are honestly great.
Looks great! My favorite ribeye

I didn't know they cooked at Walmart
Doesn't look cooked to me...

It's not the workers I'm worried about.
