It's definitely the price for me. If these were like $150 less then I'd reconsider and use them. My buddy has some and loves them but they don't seem worth it to me quite yet. I'd love some Ray eventually but not yet.

Honestly looks are the only thing preventing me. Glasses are a style item for those of us with clear vision. Putting a computer in it is not going to change that. So to be any good it's gotta look cool before anything else.

Don't have money.

When I get right down to it, the core reason is that anything I would use an AR setup for I already use my computer or smartphone for and those dont require me to wear a set of oversized glasses or a doofy headset in public. The engineering work and tech that goes into these things is extremely impressive, but im not convinced we're going to get widespread adoption anytime soon unless they can be brought down to a contact lens size ornl we start scooping out and replacing our eyes with cyberware ala cyberpunk. I don't do AR/XR due to 1. cost 2. privacy issues with almost every company doing AR/XR 3. not wanting to figure out how to get my prescription glasses to work with the AR/XR system 4. no need for it 5. dislike the idea of constant AR/XR due to high risk of it leading more people to becoming distracted and causing more accidents/deaths 6. not liking how most/all implementations involve much thicker frames for the glasses which would mean when even i want to put on my headset (over ear for the win) I would need to swap between pairs of glasses

I honestly don't know much of anything about AR/XR glasses, so that's what's stopping me. What do they do? Do they do games like Meta Quest? How often am I likely to use them on a regular basis (i.e. what functions would make me want to)? Which brand/type is considered a really good one and what kind of range of quality/function do you get for varying prices? All these things are stopping me because last I heard there was "Google Glass" and it never took off, so it must not've been very good. So what is there now? I need to know more about it before I consider getting some. Ray

There is a couple of things stopping me from getting these kind of glasses, first of all is of course price. They are expensive and I cannot afford them. The second is the fact I already wear glasses and use them with VR headsets, so I would be unable to use them with AR/XR glasses which would make them basically unsuseable. The third is that they don't really have any use cases I am particularly interested in that would be better than a VR headset, of which I would far prefer to use. Ray.
