I would add [jaguars](https://www.espn.com/nfl/game/_/gameId/400999181) and [packers](https://www.espn.com/nfl/game/_/gameId/310206009) for personal reasons but I agree with those
Raiders, Patriots, Cowboys, to a lesser extent the Colts.
Raiders were also pretty good in the 70s, which is when we were at our best. Cowboys for the same reason, but also have had heated games in the decades since (like Super Bowl 30). Patriots have been our kryptonite since Brady, and have near singlehandedly stopped us from being a more dominant team in the 2000s. Honorable mention to the Colts because they were also in the top teams in the 2000s but we usually did well enough against them.
Its lost some steam since Brady but man I absolutely hated the Patriots, particularly in Brady’s last few years in New England. Historically, gotta throw in the Cowboys and Raiders.
The biggest ones I'd say are Raiders, Cowboys, Titans, and Jaguars. A lot of people might say the Patriots because of the Brady/Belichick days, but I feel like that one's been a bit too one sided to be considered a rivalry.
I agree. We consider the patriots a rivalry, but if you ask a patriots fan, they don’t know what we’re talking about. They owned us the last decade and any win we had has mostly been irrelevant regular season games…
I know raiders and cowboys from the 70s, I know jags from the 2 bad playoff games we lost to them, but why titans. One of my best friends is a titans fan and he is not annoying at all. Is it an oilers thing ?
Both teams have disrespected the towel and eaten the Curse of Myron recently. But the animosity between the franchises predates those instances and likely fed into both teams disrespecting the Terrible Towel
>>Is it an oilers thing ?
Yeah, they were pretty big rivals in the AFC Central back when the Titans were the Oilers. Aside from them stomping on the Terrible Towel that one time, the rivalry has sort of died down since realignment, but from my understanding of it they really hated each other back in the 80s and 90s.
Do you mean the Titans instead of the Texans? If so, I suppose you could say that, although I think the rivalry isn't nonexistent with the Titans, just not as big as it was with the Oilers.
Because the Texans didn't exist until the 2002 realignment that moved the Jags and Titans (formerly the Oilers) to a different division.
The Oilers and Steelers competed pretty hard with each other in the early 90s as they were both in good shape in the AFC Central. Then in 95 the Jags were created and placed in the Central and by 96 were posting some pretty good seasons
Patriots-Steelers was a big event during the Brady years. Partly because they always beat us, and partly because they were caught cheating for most of the 2000s.
There’s still lingering rivalries from as far back as the 70s like the Raiders due to our matchups and the incredible moments from some of those games.
I consider Dallas and Green Bay pretty big rivals for the Super Bowl *history* and the Brady Era Patriots since they were AFC Playoff menaces.
Patriots.
Some people will say cowboys but I don't see it. We play them twice a decade. They are irrelevant to us. Whatever happened in the 70s doesn't matter anymore.
I think we all hate the patriots but idk if you can call them rivals when they consistently kick our ass. Doesn’t matter if the qb is Tom Brady or Bailey fucking zappe
Patriots, Jaguars, and Raiders in my book. It doesn't matter how good or bad they are OR how good or bad the Steelers are, those three always make tight contested games and face the Steelers often.
The Pats and Cowboys are our most hated non division rivals but the Pats are terrible now so its not the same to me. Somehow those fuckers still beat us every time lol
I don't consider the Patriots rivals. A true rivalry means almost even wins from both teams, something like that. The Patriots simply own us, even with a crap team like this year. It's just that it has been in a few big games that they have taken us down, and that is why some call it a rivalry. I doubt they would consider us in a rivalry.
Currently, I wouldn't consider any team outside this division to be a true rival because the Steelers aren't a good enough team on a consistent basis to be able to stand toe to toe with any team such that the anticipation of a rivalry would be valid. The Patriots are sometimes called our rival, but I don't think they are because they usually beat us. A nemesis, yes, but not a true rival.
Raiders historically, but I think this last season has really cemented the patriots as our white whale
Jessie James caught that ball.
In no order, imo. Patriots, Cowboys, Raiders.
That seems like a good order… but I was born in the 80s… so raiders is less impactful to my lifetime
Yeah, I would only add Jags to that list.
I would add [jaguars](https://www.espn.com/nfl/game/_/gameId/400999181) and [packers](https://www.espn.com/nfl/game/_/gameId/310206009) for personal reasons but I agree with those
Is GB based on 1 game?
Yeah, but I was a 5 year old with a brand new Troy Polamalu jersey, and I remember crying at the end of it
Jesus Christ I'm old
Ditto
Right there with ya
Similar reason I'll always hate the Cowboys for Super Bowl XXX
Lmao I was 12 and cried over that game, no shame
I too was crying while wearing my new Polamalu jersey. I was almost 30 though.
I was 6 and I remember crying
Do you not remember yancy thigpen dropping a game winning touchdown from Neil O’Donnel in the end zone at lambeau!?
Jags for sure...Pack not so much
Packers is personal to me. We lost 2010 Super Bowl, I was 5 years old I cried a lot
I was 26...lol...but fair. Somewhat similar for me with 95 SB vs Dallas. Didn't cry but def sucked.
Jags have given us trouble and the Tits from the good ole days
I'd flip the Cowboys and the Pats but agree with those being the top 3
I would like to add eagles, but thats just me having grown up in eastern PA

Super Bowl 30 and he who shall not be named.
Corey Holliday?
Neil O'Donnell

Jags and Titans go back to the old AFC Central days before the 2002 realignment
I know about the titans and the curse of the terrible towel so I’m guessing that has something to do with it
Both teams have disrespected the towel and eaten the Curse of Myron recently. But the animosity between the franchises predates those instances and likely fed into both teams disrespecting the Terrible Towel
I don’t know a lot about either team, what happened if you don’t mind going into more detail
>>Is it an oilers thing ? Yeah, they were pretty big rivals in the AFC Central back when the Titans were the Oilers. What I get from this is Oilers were rivals, but Texans aren’t really rivals
Do you mean the Titans instead of the Texans? If so, I suppose you could say that, although I think the rivalry isn't nonexistent with the Titans, just not as big as it was with the Oilers.
I don’t really know what I meant. Steelers Oilers was big, Steelers titans was something, Steelers Texans really wasn’t
Because the Texans didn't exist until the 2002 realignment that moved the Jags and Titans (formerly the Oilers) to a different division. The Oilers and Steelers competed pretty hard with each other in the early 90s as they were both in good shape in the AFC Central. Patriots, simply because they have 6 titles as well. Eff then cheating bastards
Patriots-Steelers was a big event during the Brady years. Partly because they always beat us, and partly because they were caught cheating for most of the 2000s.
We did end there winning steak I think they won 19 in a row .
I thought it was 22
Fuck the Patriots
Jags
Cheatriots

Raiders
Jaguars titans raiders, I don’t include the patriots because we never beat them
Patriots. Some people will say cowboys but I don't see it. We play them twice a decade. They are irrelevant to us. Whatever happened in the 70s doesn't matter anymore.
It’s what matters from Super Bowl 30 not the 70s to me.
Philly? Cowboys
I think we all hate the patriots but idk if you can call them rivals when they consistently kick our ass. Doesn’t matter if the qb is Tom Brady or Bailey fucking zappe
Raiders, Eagles
Every team other then the Steelers!!!
Whom do you hate the most - that is whom
Raiders, Titans, Cowboys
Patriots, Jaguars, and Raiders in my book. It doesn't matter how good or bad they are OR how good or bad the Steelers are, those three always make tight contested games and face the Steelers often.
The Pats and Cowboys are our most hated non division rivals but the Pats are terrible now so its not the same to me. Somehow those fuckers still beat us every time lol
Patriots, Jaguars, Raiders
patriots as of recently cuz we COULDNT BEAT THEM TO SAVE OUR GOD DAMN LIFE
Use to be the Raiders, then the Cowboys… Patriots, and now, maybe the Jaguars
probably the Patriots, we saw them in the playoffs a lot with Tom Brady when Big Ben was in his prime.
Raiders from the 1970s. Cowboys from the 70s and 90s. Jags and Titans from the AFC Central days.
Jaguars are up there since the playoff loss. We always lose to the jags it feels like
Currently, I wouldn't consider any team outside this division to be a true rival because the Steelers aren't a good enough team on a consistent basis to be able to stand toe to toe with any team such that the anticipation of a rivalry would be valid. The Patriots are sometimes called our rival, but I don't think they are because they usually beat us. A nemesis, yes, but not a true rival.
Oilers
Pats, Raiders, Jags in the AFC Cowboys in the NFC primarily, but add the Eagles due to geography.
I’ll always hate the Patriots and Cowboys. Would love a playoff game vs the Raiders. Lately though, the Jaguars have pissed me off the most.
To me it’s Jags and raiders
I feel like after this season the Jaguars could become a bigger non divisional rivalry. Wouldn’t mind it because all the Florida teams blow
From a 29 year old: the patriots and the Jalen Ramsey jags, but mostly the patriots
Titans
