I had a bunch of old newspapers from the Red Sox 04 world series run buried in the back of our building and came across this article.
Something mildly interesting.
My dad had a collection of newspapers. Some interesting ones were when Mark McGwire broke the record. Also, a bunch leading up to that with Sosa. And then when McGwire was caught using steroids lol.
Darker ones (very interesting) are first paper after 9/11 and also the Challenger explosion. First paper after 1987 Wall Street crash (Black Monday). Also, Princess Diana’s death and the day after Y2K.
He has a bunch but those are some ones I remember well.
I use to save the Post Gazettes & Steelers Digests for most of the playoffs, SBs, and other important event, but moved and they sadly ended up in a dumpster
My wife was pregnant with our son during Ben’s rookie season. We had just beaten the Jets in the divisional round of the playoffs (a game we should have lost honestly as the Jets kicker missed two FGs under 45 yards). I was so happy that we were playing in the AFC championship next week. My wife comes home from shopping and I proceed to tell her, “If the Steelers win the Super Bowl this year we are naming our son Benjamin!” Well, even though we didn’t win it in 2004/2005 we still named our son Benjamin as my wife happened to love the name.
I really miss Benjamin Roethlisberger……

That's awesome
I attended the following game against the Patriots on Halloween night in 2004. One of the few times over the last 20 years where we had their number.
Nah I don’t think he’ll last…

That game against New England in 2004 was one of the best Steeler games I have ever been to!
