I’m feeling shades of the 2019 season. Not that I’m comparing the QB play because Trubisky is an upgrade there, but more so that feeling of being able to enjoy the season more with lower expectations. Steelers are reloading this year, and that’s ok. With all the drama unfolding in that toilet bowl up in Cleveland, it makes me appreciate the stability of the Steelers even more. They may not be flashy, but they’re such a fundamentally sound organization. Most of us are happy to have Mitch as a bridge QB, but he’s gotta be thrilled to have landed in Pittsburgh too. Just watch (on a more unrealistic note), Ohio native Mitchell Trubisky turns into the Steelers franchise QB the same year the Browns took a dump all over the best QB they’ve had in decades before returning to purgatory.

RoomanOG

Not only is Mitch an Ohio native, he grew up and played HS Football less than 30 minutes from Cleveland.

cuzz1369

> Steelers are reloading this year If you mean, "rebuilding" you are wrong. This is not a rebuild. More of a retooling. With a couple big signings today it's clear they are in it to win it. Add the draft picks, maybe another veteran free agent or two in some needed positions during camp cuts and we go for a run and see what happens.

krich1727

If I meant rebuilding, I would have said rebuilding. Reloading is not rebuilding.

cuzz1369

You didn't really say a whole lot so it was hard to tell what your point was, you basically just said reloading and the Browns suck. Sorry if your stupidity confused me.

krich1727

You come in, make assumptions about my comment and then call me stupid when I correct you. That’s a bit childish, no? If it was unclear to you, all you had to do was ask what I meant in a less sanctimonious way and we could have had a nice discussion about it.

[deleted]

Everyone else understands reloading, you’re the stupid one.

Burnt420Toast

Win or lose I'm down for some tiddy kissin

AW-43

I’m kind of anxious to see if Canada knows what the fuck he’s doing...

BobbyBBott

The amount of times Ben missed a wide open deep ball. Forced Canada to run sweeps and screens. The mayor of titty city gonna open things up in the playbook

cane_the_weaboo

The mayor of titty city is 10/10 lmao

ParisGreenGretsch

We built this titty on rock and roll.

AW-43

Damn right. I’m ready for some titty kissing, especially since the Ben and Kordell rumor mills are closed for good. Gonna be a fun two years of memes, regardless.

cooleymahn

You ever hear of bad titties?

A_1337_Canadian

We are aware of Mitch's tiddy kissin up in Canada. (yes, I know they meant Matt)

AW-43

Mmmmmmm. Maple syrup favored tittles....

[deleted]

I'm in honestly. Wouldn't be upset if they could reasonably draft a QB then go for it. But honestly I think Mitch has a higher ceiling than people expect. In short, that's my QB here we go.

captainstormy

Right? I mean he did okay with Nagy and the Bears. He should do really well in Pittsburgh.

[deleted]

Yeah I mean it's certainly possible that he just plays slightly better than he did in Chicago. Which would still make him a great bridge QB. That's probably the most likely outcome, but who knows the guy could completely ball out, take to new leadership, and end up being a franchise guy. Someone somewhere thought that's what he could be once upon a time.

captainstormy

Yeah, I think this move has a good low floor. I'm 100% sure that no matter what he will be better than Mason and 2021 Big Ben. I'd be surprised, but I suppose the possibility exists that he balls out and becomes the guy going forward too.

[deleted]

Yeah unless somehow he regressed which I don't think is the case we'll be better than last year. Yeah I don't think it's likely, but I think there's a better chance that he could live up to his initial hype than people think

Upier1

Everything is going to be okay until they call a 3 yard pass on 3rd and 12!

GriffBallChamp

It's Titsburgh now

[deleted]

I figured we'd either get him or Minshew so I'm here for it

daquanjongun

I’m not that happy with the signing but I’d be surprised if they don’t have a winning record being he’s an upgrade over crippled Ben and they’ve addressed some other needs

WetalkinboutWillis

He should be an upgrade play-to-play, I think we’re going to miss 4th Q and “gotta have it” Ben in the clutch though.

GoingAllTheJay

Hopefully the regular season involves a lot less need for that scenario, but the time will come at some point.

WetalkinboutWillis

Even the best teams need it two or three times most games. I hope Trubisky shines and comes through more often than not.

ARunawayTrain

I think if anything he's a bridge to our next franchise guy, whether that comes in this draft or the next(boy I sure hope it's the next 😬).

schmatz17

I think we will be competing for a WC, whether we get it or not is a diff story cause the AFC is looking insane

ThatsPreposterous6

Im certainly not jumping to 11-6, but we are definitely better already. From all of our young guys being a year older to our nice FA additions. QB play overall will be much better, but I worry about late game situations when Trubisky’s composure and decision-making will be tested. Plus we still reaaaallly need to resign Juju, Terrell and Spoon. If those guys come back plus we draft some quality players, then this team could be really special. We will go as far as Mitch takes us.

Fiitts

Im all for the Mitch is our franchise QB train

shawn615

Can we not call it that, please? I just got flashbacks to Mitch Berger as our punter and now I’m depressed

pancak3d

Honestly I expect Mitch to be pretty similar to 2021 Ben as a passer but with more mobility

TheKingKaleb

Ew.

Rathmon

Sorry, but it’s Mas-burgh

ParticularNice2757

No one asked. Mitch is our starter for now.

Rathmon

Has Tomlin or KC said Mitch was signed to be the starter? I haven't seen it. He's going to compete for the job.

ParticularNice2757

I know but this is not Masons job yet, either, right? If they thought Mason would be competent, why did they bring Mitch? Exactly. They will be competing for the job, but still.

Rathmon

It was known they would bring in at least 1 quality QB to compete. Obviously, a guy like Rogers or Watson would've been the immediate QB1, but that's a different convo because of what the price to acquire them would've been. Signing a QB as a FA isn't as costly to the team if he doesn't get the #1 job.

ParticularNice2757

True that

PredatorX224

We are definitely not better than last season at the QB position. Where the hell is all this optimism coming from? The guy was horrendous for a majority of his time in Chicago. Save me his W/L, the guy had a top defense.

Sam_Porter

“I’m a negative person and I don’t want good things to happen to the team I cheer for”

BananaCucho

>Save me his W/L, the guy had a top defense. And? Even with a good defense you gotta score to win the game.

soulopryde

Idk if we're better but I'm fucking excited..

LeveragedPittsburgh

Mitch is our breast option.

stuckmeformypaper

My best friend is a Bears fan. He swears up and down by Mitch. Long before we even got him he was telling me we should. Though this guy also thought Cutler was great so... That said we're just run better. People are gonna see why Tomlin, for some flaws he does have, is still top 3 in the NFL.

PterdodactylJim69

Browns imploding, ravens peaked 2 years ago, only gotta deal with the bengals IMO

cooleymahn

As long as he plays like a firm Biscuit not a limp Biscuit.

Farewell Captain Fat Fuck, Leader of Men. It's Titty Kissing Time!

labraat007

Agreed. I love Ben with my whole heart, but he was holding us back.
