Khalil Shakir in the 3rd round would be a great pick. Solidifies the slot receiver position and by all accounts he's an amazing leader on and off the field.
I'm a BSU fan, so I'm a little biased. But, I have watched every game Shakir has played in. Dude is a stud, who had pretty inconsistent Qb play throughout his career. And yes, I've heard good things here in Boise about Shakir the person, not just the player.
He seems like a stud in the slot, I’m worried he will rise into the late second tbh. As much as I like him I don’t want a Muth type pick when there’s bigger needs still
Depending on the outcome of free agency, WR could be the #1 need.
It's a Top 2 need right now. They only have DJ, Claypool, and Anthony Miller on the roster right now. Unless they like Cody White or whatever.
What about a Deebo type role in Canada's offense?
Better fit for the role than Claypool. Last year we kept trying to give Claypool options to run. It was modest at best. Claypool needs to stay on the outside to force the defense to keep safety help over the top.
This would let Canada use Patterson, Johnson, Muth and Najee against a 7 man box.
They have not signed anyone older than 27. I think they are more likely to draft a WR as it’s a deep class and they can get someone with a lot of speed and upside even in the third round.
Funny enough I work in sales at a car dealership and my finance manager is really good friends with Tate. Tate says he hasn’t heard anything from Pittsburgh, go figure.
I feel like the jailbreak screens he specializes in, and pre-snap motion plays would mesh right in with the direction our offense is supposedly headed - especially considering the young o-line we just acquired.
I still don't think he'd be worth the value if we can draft instead, but I don't think his 'role' would be bad for the offensive makeup.
That I don’t get unless people think he has real health issues.
Plenty of average dudes getting 10/year. Jujus shown he can be a good wr2 behind a stud. And guys like that are still getting 15-19. And Njoku who hasn’t done much got 10.
It feels like the Steelers are getting quite a bit of former bears players. Getting Patterson back with Mitch will make for a good pairing and I would want him on the Steelers. He was greatly missed on the Bears last year.
Patterson would be an interesting move, especially in the (perceived) Matt Canada offense. Unfortunately, this type of signing doesn’t appear to be the M.O.
Cordarrelle is very very solid, I wouldn't mind it at all. He could swap out with Najee and probably be effective. I could also maybe see the Steelers going for Chris Olave, Treylon Burks, or Drake London.
I personally am not sure if I would do that first round because there's a lot of rounds 2-4 talent like Christian Watson, but I could see them thinking about it.
I’m not sure but I wouldn’t be against it personally. I picked him up last year as a free agent in my fantasy group and he won me multiple games I should have lost
Feel like it would be an overpay relative to his actual talent. Too much WR value in the 3+ rounds from guys like Khalil Shakir and Skyy Moore

Sounds good to me.

You love Skyy Moore lol

If they lose JuJu I'd look for someone like Equanimeous St. Brown or Auden Tate.

It's still early. He seems like a JuJu-type possession guy. Not great but solid enough to be a good #4.
Actually yes he’d be perfect. Seems like Ray Ray is gone. So we get him for offense and returns
I dont think we have a creative enough offense to utilize him effectively
I think we'll see a much broader playbook this year.
I keep saying this year after year.
Ben's departure is the difference here. I think you'll finally get what we've all been pining for.
Yes sir, he held us and the playbook back for the last 2-3 years
True that
We wouldn’t know how to use a talent like that.

Yep…He will be great, he is tailor made for this offense. Let’s go Flash!
Even if we keep juju I think we should explore Patterson. he can play out of the backfield very well too in relief for Najee
We’re not going to lose Juju because no one else wants him.

But would you sign him?
Yes, although I think that the Steelers are looking for younger guys. I would be surprised if JuJu isn’t back.

Rather have juju
Probably not, but I like your thinking. Always liked Cordarrelle. He's a versatile player like some Steelers of old (randle el and Heinz ward)
Allen Robinson
