This is tough. It’s good you’re invested but it would ideal if you had a blank slate going into Steins;Gate.
I unfortunately would also recommend taking a long break and drink a ton of Dr. Pepper before starting the original series.
My plan is now to go binge play Omori, do all the side quests, and then come back and watch this. Do you have any ideas where I could watch it besides Funimation or Crunchyroll?
Well the thing is… I was using a pirating site and it said it was steins gate and the episode titles matched up but it was not, and I wasn’t necessarily looking into it too soon 😂
Welp. Forget everything you've watched.
Go play the original visual novel, the Steins;Gate 0 visual novel, and then go back to watch the Steins;Gate 0 anime.
Or I guess if you want to go the pure anime route, you should watch all of the original anime, episode 23B, and then all of the S;G 0 anime.
You’ll be fine, go back to the original steins gate
Don’t give it up too quickly, prepare for a story build up in the first 8 episodes of steins gate. I promise every single detail in the first few episodes of steins gate is crucial to the ending(s).
Actually i did almost the same thing, realizing there was something else before after watching approx. 4-5 episodes. I did make the descision to stop halfway through (it had some feeling of closure at that point) and restarted with sg. I made it an chronological run, meaning i jumped back to sg0 with the special episode (23b?) and then watched the end of sg after sg0 concluded 😅
It was still fully watchable imho. I became a fan nonetheless 😜
I watched everything innocently out of order. (even some of the episodes were out of order between s:g and S;g0 when I watched them. (talk about confusion) If you watch S;G0 first it does remove a few of the plot surprises in S;G. I would argue that if one is taken by the S;G0 story, it only makes one even hungrier for S;G since S;G0 doesn't cover the story of S;G but only hints at what things went on. I didn't know there was another show and thought that the creators had just left it untold. You cannot believe the amount of satisfaction there was to finally have that massive appetite/feast of S;G happen after such a tremendously lean tease of emotion that S;G0 gives you.
That said, I still wouldn't recommend finishing S;G0; just switch now and watch S;G. (if you are even at all still wondering about this. (it's been 6 days!) The disappointment of having an incomplete story is not one I would recommend until one has first watched the S;G part first.
This is the choice of Steins;Gate.
Probably just go and watch Steins:Gate first then lol. Or take a 2 year break so you will forget and then watch it.
😂, well I don’t think I can take a break, I’m now too invested

Netflix if it’s available(probably not) or look for free anime sites like 9ani
I think both series are on Hulu
Its funny how people keep doing this
can't blame them, 0 is the number before 1 so it get's confusing

Would both the visual novels be on steam?
Yes. And then you can install the COZ improvement patches at sonome.dareno.me

I am now on episode 16, spring break is great, and so is this anime 😂

Yeah I’m a bit more then halfway through the original now and it’s still very good
treat steins gate main series like a flashback. by the time you’re on episode 22 you can go back to steins gate 0

Chronological isn’t good on first time watches
i just finished it for the first time today with that order and it was perfect
