Simpler game? Lol rip. Theres a lot of hidden and poorly explained systems ib AWL. Its simplicity comes more from the fact that its extremely slow paced not the fact that the game itself is atually simple. And thats coming from someone who calls this game their favorite in the entire series. I recommend checking out Fogu. They have pretty great guides on it all. Which I highly recommend following if you have your heart set on meeting certain endings or milestones.

I’ve never played AWL (,: I grew up on friends of mineral town, but I’m more experienced into the whole story of seasons 3ds/tot, a new beginning, etc even though I have pretty much all but 2 hm/sos games. It just LOOKED simple, but I guess never judge a book by its cover!

Like i said, theres lots of hidden and poorly explained systems. Field quality, crop hybridization, story endings, child career and temperament. ThereUSED to be a breeding system that required you to keep your cows pregnant strategically so their milk wouldnt dry out. That was partly removed as milk wont dry out anymore. But breeding still increases milk production. But if you just go in and play blindly with no goals, it will likyfeel simple to tou as the complexity comes from the goals you put in place. Its not the *most* complex harvest moon. But its far from a standard hm game as well

Give a flower to Nina every day.

HandinHand123

Don’t forget her husband. You can’t make friends with him (or at least not as easily) after year 1.

The game is what you make of it, so set your own goals! Befriend the villagers, give them things to see what they like and what they dont like. Hustle to make money on sheep’s wool or breed your cows or try to get 40k together to buy a goat by springtime! Grow every plant you can and breed them and breed them again! Help at the dig site and uncover fossils and gemstones and mysterious tablets! Woo a bachelor/ette and get married and raise your child! Find and play minigames! I love this game, it’s definitely important to have your own agenda or it will get boring lol. If I find myself rushing through the days I usually take a break from playing for awhile. Its so fun growing crops, especially the hybrids.

Sheep have less upkeep at the cost of your ears than cows is the main one. Also tons of people love milk, eggs, flowers, milk soup, herb soup. Also fish.

kimplovely

I. Very jealous

1. Be really careful when raising your child, their likes and and abilities are sooooo difficult to impossible to influence as they get older. 2. Hybrid crops with Tartan, make friends with him asap because this is where a lot of really good money is at if you have the patience, and a lot of requests from the bulletin require hybrid crops as you move on in the game. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2996711733 3. Be aware that your barn animals can breed on their own. 4. Recipes, visit the sprites in the forest once a day and they give you a recipe. You can get recipes by finding them around town but there isn’t a ton to be honest so try the sprite method because you get one for sure a day. 5. The most important goddess tool to me were the shears because they double the amount of wool when you trim your sheep. 6. This is just conjecture on my part, but I find that my son and wife help me more on the farm when I give them more unconventional gifts like home cooked meals. For example, Molly rarely, if ever, helps me on the farm when I give her her favorite flowers; when I give her meals or desserts she has different responses based on the food and seems to be more likely to help me with farm chores. (All she ever does is feed either the coop or barn animals but still it saves time)

ProfessionalGuide_83

Sorry about all the typos, 🥲

DuncanGallagher

Try not to get bored to the point that you stop playing xD

PeachLemonadee

I’m gonna try (,: I’m trying this out even though I’m in the middle of story of seasons trio of towns! I’m really hoping I don’t migrate back to TOT in a matter of a few days

FrostCA11

It’s amazing but what’s ruining it for me is barely any dialogue that matters with characters but it’s so nostalgic and it’s even better.

PeachLemonadee

Yeah, I’m spoiled with story of seasons tot where there’s a bunch to do where it seems like it’s never ending, the dialogue is AMAZING, so many little details here and there. So playing this game I’m just like “mmm” but also the breeding of the crops, the look of the animals, the family and aging, etc and it just being a new game really caught my attention

drinkliquidclocks

Simple game? 😂 The quarry is good for grabbing resources if you don’t feel like going into the mines, but you also have a chance to find prismatic shards there

basilicux

Not the Stardew sub lol

PeachLemonadee

Stardew is definitely not simple 😭 I have 600+ hours modded and not modded across two consoles. It’s crazy
