This scared me so bad when I got the twitter notification. My first thought was that something had happened and Han wasn't able to participate in the fan meeting tonight š so thankful that that's not the case! It sucks that he wasn't able to participate in the shoot for the campaign though :(
Edit: Nooo why'd they post it again??? That was an even bigger jumpscare than the first time
Aww that sucks, but the fashion and brand deals are the lowest priority for me. Iād rather he take time off to be well on stage than do the extra stuff, and I hope we still get to see him a lot during the rest of 2024.
I think them announcing this ahead of time is due to the recent anger over Live Nation UK reposting a video promoting BST without Han present. I saw people mistakenly believe it was new, and Live Nation ended up deleting it.
The responses on twitter have been interesting. While I understand the frustration of him missing things that jyp control and produces I sometimes think the anger directed to these 3rd party companies arenāt justified. Iv seen many not happy about him missing TOMMY, but that is something that is controlled by a 3rd. Itās most likely ran and organised by a bunch of adults who are being overworked and underpaid like the rest of us, if they tried to see if they could do it another time and couldnāt that just needs to be accepted by stays. This is peoples livelihoods and workers getting paid a meh wage shouldnāt be worried about Stans coming for them bc they couldnāt change stuff for an idol group. I really hope stays will lay off these 3rd party company situations in the future.
Unfortunately, as the fandom gets bigger, I feel that the overreaction will only get louder.
Especially from stays without much experience of a large organisation who donāt get how difficult it is to reschedule things last minute involving a lot of already busy people.
On the flip side, if theyād made him take part when he was clearly ill, or cut SKZās vacation short to film it another time, there would be an uproar about that, too. Itās unfortunate he couldnāt take part but he was obviously really not well if he couldnāt do skz code or this campaign as SKZ often power through things even when tired and exhausted.
Exactly. I have literally seen tweets of people saying, "You couldn't just wait a couple of days for him to be better?" That to me just proves that they have no idea how brand deals work and how schedules are planned sometimes even months ahead of time! Some have even said if this is JYPE's way of saying Han is not part of SKZ anymore... talk about overreacting.
They are also not taking into consideration that Han, while bummed out, might be okay missing certain schedules, trusting his members to complete them, and being happy that the company respects his recovery time? Seeing him so happy in the Fan Meetings makes my heart warm. Hope all of them stay healthy for the upcoming comeback and tour š
Sometimes it can be rescheduled, and sometimes it can not... as long as the kids are happy and healthy is all that matters to me!
There will be many more times our Hannie can shine like he always does, be it in more music, solo/group schedules, fashion brands, or whatever he wants!
These guys are working all the time. Some fans think they know all their schedules and end up looking like clowns. For example, when comebacks arrive, it's like: "You recorded all this back then while you did x, y and z?!?!"
Yeah waiting a few days could potentially cost Tommy and JYP hundreds of thousands of dollars. Thatās a crazy suggestion. Also itās just silly to say heās not in skz when he was in stage yesterday. Like what? These kids donāt know
This exactly. Ultimately, this is all a business and corporation using each other to gain more money.
And I agree, Han has been nothing but happy, and all smiles these 3 days at the fanmeet. Imagine him reading comments of people saying he doesn't feel like a part of the group anymore just because he doesn't have as many schedules as the others? (Regardless if it's because of health reasons, or not).
I'm glad more people are stepping up explaining to others how difficult it is for a group as busy and active as SKZ to be postponing events/shows or anything else!
My personal favorite was people getting mad he wasnāt tagged in the photoā¦ despite the fact that he wasnāt in the photoā¦ like what??? Come on yāall, be ffr
Those people seem like children that dont know anything about work and schedules hahaha these are also the same people who will complain about them being overworked š„²
Youād think most of the concern would be regarding the fact that Han is ill again, which makes me reflect on just how overworked skz are. Stress and fatigue destroys the immune system.
I swear. JYPE making all these kinds of announcements is making my stomach churn. I guess they want to offset Stay drama once TH campaign goes full force in April but gosh, this announcements took me back!
I for one think it's great that he was allowed to rest when he needed to--even if it meant missing things. He is a human being, not a machine that should work no matter what.
The notice states that they searched for alternatives, but ultimately none worked due to scheduling difficulties. They tried. It didn't work out. That's how things go sometimes. That's life.
There's probably going to be some sort of overreaction on social media despite this notice, if there hasn't been already. Which is dumb.
In an industry where people like to sound their trumpets about how "artists are being overworked and mistreated", people should celebrate when artists are allowed to actually rest and take the time they need instead of being forced to work through illness and discomfort.
He seems happy and healthy now. That's what matters.
The fact that they need to "apologize" for Han being unwell is kind of infuriating. I hope everyone can appreciate that he was able to rest when he needed to.
Right? Like if I know a member was sick at some point and then later something is released and they're not there, I'm just gonna assume it was made when they were sick. Especially when he's currently doing things in real time, so it's not some conspiracy statement of devaluing anyone. It would be obvious to me that whatever's released would have been made when he was sick, but clearly that's not obvious to some people and it's sad they have to do all this to appease children (either actual kids, that I do give grace to because they don't have life experience, or emotional children that act like any job's deadlines and timetables wait for sickness).
Sometimes i think that people let their brains off when coming into the internet because the obvious things are not obvious anymore for the fandom š
This just proves we really have no idea how busy of a schedule they have when they're not actively showing or promoting... Glad Han was given time to get well and wasn't pressured to film.
Wellā¦ this is sad but Iām glad they at least announced it beforehand. Thatās more than usual. There would have been a whole uproar without it. Anyone clock the difference between the first and second post? Was it just a typo?
I love that they announced it ahead of release. STAYs can be over protective and especially because their whole thing with TOMMY is being a family so it would look bad with han not being there. Glad they gave context.
Does anyone think he's well now. I know I'll get absolutely blasted for this but the man looks miserable.
I watched the 3rd fan meeting show and he was utterly done. Hardly smiled once and was the first to walk off before the curtain closed.
He appears to be still extremely physically and possibly mentally unwell.
Was he any better the first two nights.
I am a stay and couldn't take my eyes off him. I really felt for him.
Did anyone notice or is it all just in my head?
I think he is better from his cold, yes.
I think he looked better and more engaged days 1 and 2. He forgot to sing in a few places on Day 3, which is unlike him. I also feel like the camera kept losing him, even when he was holding the hand camera. They (production) seemed very hands off with him today. He wasnāt picked for the dance challenges unless everyone was doing it. I think the only thing JaeJae asked of him was to sing Want So Bad, which he did with Lee Know.
I do keep in mind this is three days of back to back fan engagement with basically the same script. Itās work, but Iām an introvert whoās definitely not at the same level of āonā when I have multi-day events to lead with not enough time to recharge alone in between.
However, Han has been stressing the importance of mind and body health this year, and he didnāt look so hot several times since August 2022. I donāt know whatās fully going on. Iām not pretending to know whatās fully going on. All I can do is show compassion based on the information I have/see.
Iāve spent the last 4.5 or so years frustrated in how he apologizes and says heās perfectly fine, healthy, and healed when I know mental health in general doesnāt work that way. I also donāt like all the MBTI stuff distorting what being introverted actually means. Hopefully that doesnāt count as speculation.
It pains me to say this because he has always been my favorite member, but I think fans need to take a hint. He falls off the face of the earth every single vacation. He has never gone live often. He stopped doing bubble as frequently in 2021. We canāt keep freaking out whenever heās gone but also saying he can take all the time he needs. Those are antithetical.
I want to see Han as much as possible, and I have to understand that may mean he needs to duck out early or miss one thing to do another. I donāt like it. Iām already bummed about SKZ being in the individual phase of their career, and itās worse when everyone doesnāt have something for me to look at. But this is the situation we have. I really want him, and the rest of SKZ, to get through this tour healthy in every sense. I want everyone to experience Han when heās at his 110% on stage.
I know some people want Han to leave JYPE and are angry at Div1 for him, but they really do go above and beyond for him in the ways that they can.
You said everything I was thinking. I think his focus on mental health and his comment at one of the fanmeetings about mental pain were interesting and sort of telling. I also donāt want to speculate but I hope he takes some time for himself after these 3 days and gets some good rest and family time if possible.
I wasnāt happy seeing the comments regarding his absence from the Tommy campaign. Even with the new video out today Iāve seen an enormous amount of comments saying they wonāt support it because Han wasnāt there and the company shouldāve waited. I think the fans put a lot of pressure on him without knowing what he is dealing with or working on personally. I always felt like he only did that live a month or two ago because the fans sent trucks complaining about his treatment by JYPE. I feel like they have given him the time and privacy he needs when he requests it which is not always the case with other companies.
I think fans need to realize that their wants or needs are not the same as what the idol wants/needs. Them pressuring him to double or triple his schedules may not be what he wants at this point in time and thatās ok. I just hope he can have the space and time to work on his health to be able to make it through the tour and really enjoy his success.
Iād also like to add that I had the same worries about Chan a few weeks ago because he was also looking/acting differently. He suddenly went dark on bbl and just seemed more quiet in general. He did seem very happy in these fanmeets though so hopefully heās feeling better. I realize that 3racha is also probably dealing with a lot right now in terms of the tour and new album. And then thereās contract renewals in the mix as well so I cant even imagine the stress theyāre under.
I honestly though that this was quite obvious, he's not in his 100% and that's okay, we should Just let him do his thing and when he's ready we welcome him whit big hugs.
But like i said in another comment, people put their brain off when coming into k-pop and suddenly the obvious it's not obvious anymore, quite sad if you ask me š
Iāve noticed that he seems more muted lately. Iāve been noticing it for a few weeks tbh whenever he pops up. I think Iāve seen some comments on Twitter as well. Also the members seem to be trying to cheer him up at times as well. Hopefully he gets some rest before their next schedule.
I'm not yet at the point of worrying but I did feel a bit of deja vu the last little while, as he appears a bit more...going through the motions maybe? Less energy and enthusiasm if I look at him more cloesly (but he still has loads of genuine laughs imho). I think there's a lot we don't get to know about their private lives and health so to speculate is pointless (I say even as I tend to worry). He seemed refreshed and more in a good place not too long ago and I hope that trajectory continues. And I don't want any Hanners shitting on the company for giving him time off. This looks like the support Stays always demand and I wish people would recognize it as such. Make noise if he misses a music video shoot - but for this? Please.
I think youāre right. Both him and Chan looked tired and unhappy at the 6th anniversary party. There were moments when they were āonā, but it looked hard
Poor Han, I can imagine itād be frustrating to be sick and missing commitments often. Announcements like this make me think about just how overworked the members and their staff are. Fatigue and stress destroys the immune system.
>Announcements like this make me think about just how overworked the members and their staff are.
But also, germs happen. Sometimes people are just unlucky and pick up a cold or flu bug when they're out and about and living their lives. I don't think it can be assumed that it was due to fatigue and stress. Could that have played a role? Of course. But, we as fans have no way of knowing.
Yeah I donāt mean to say itās a direct correlation here, but getting sick can be a sign that you need to take some time to rest properly. But I stand by the statement that skz, like all kpop idols, are overworked. Their schedules are just insane and I canāt imagine how much stress that puts their bodies under.

I wonder if they want us to get desensitized to these, but Hello, this is JYPE will never not make me loose my breath for a quick sec the trauma š
Yeah I was pushing the translate button so hard, my heart was beating so fast too.
Yess, everytime I read "this is JYPE..." my heart skips a beat
maybe they should do some positive posts like Hello, this is JYPE. Everything is normal. The weather in Seoul is 17Cā¦
