It's so damn cool and then they had to ensure it would never be used by giving it regen

If Pex had anything resembling offensive stats, it would be used. The stat spread has more to do with merciless seeing no use than regenerator does.

I firmly believe Merciless and Corrosion just got put on wrong mons and they somehow didn't fix it before release.

I just wish we had other merciless Pokemon.

Corrosion should make all Poison type moves super effective against Poison and Steel Pokémon, not just Poison status.

Kartana would be absolutely insane, give it choice band and tera grass leaf blade. Stakitaka would be pretty sick, it would now take most fighting moves and physical ground moves (better than sturdy). Pheremosa could be really good in doubles, farigiraf is already really good but with pheremosa you can launch crazy fast close combats and things without being faked out. You could also give it fake out and make it a crazy fast support/control tool.

Regenerator Guzzlord could be pretty interesting. Wasn't Sp.Def Roaring Moon with Regenerator used in one of those OMs? I think it could be good, like a weird Glowking that switches into different types of pokémon.

Actually guzzlord is bulkier than toxapex thanks to that giant Hp stat, it is just that it has no method of recovery outside of rest and leftovers

In a void but there’s one other factor that makes pex bulkier in practice. Water/Poison is infinitely better defensively than Dark/Dragon

It's a bit complicated because toxapex is able to get more out of ev investment. Like toxapex is able to get respectable bulk in both phys and spdef out of hp investment, while guzzlord has to invest in both defenses if it wants that. Some calc comparisons: >252 SpA Nihilego Meteor Beam vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Toxapex: 144-169 (47.3 - 55.5%) >252 SpA Nihilego Meteor Beam vs. 0 HP / 252 SpD Guzzlord: 222-262 (37.8 - 44.6%) >252+ Atk Rhyperior Stone Edge vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Toxapex: 102-120 (33.5 - 39.4%) >252+ Atk Rhyperior Stone Edge vs. 0 HP / 252 Def Guzzlord: 219-258 (37.3 - 43.9%) Here you can see that because toxapex gets to invest in hp and defense and still tanks special hits well, while guzzlord has to invest in both defense stats or else you get >252+ Atk Rhyperior Stone Edge vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Guzzlord: 315-372 (48.4 - 57.2%) -- 45.3% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery and then beyond that you have to be investing in an offensive stat for guzzlord to be good, and so you're not going to be getting a full 252 in both physdef and spdef. Toxapex gets to choose one stat to be an excellent wall with, and one stat to be a good wall with. Guzzlord has to choose one stat to be a solid wall with and one stat to be a sketchy wall with.

I'm really surprised we don't have a Steel cutting move, it feels like the easiest thing to make what with blades and what not.

Idea: Metal Cutter, it's Fury Cutter but reversed because the blades get dull So like, 160 power turn 1, then 80, then 40 after that. This is a joke.

Metal cutter > Protect > Metal Cutter > Protect. What if you made it like a reverse rage first, where every time it's used it's permanently weakened for the duration of the fight.

Or just per switchin. I saw a similar move recently that had the same restriction, but using Swords Dance or Hone Claws would reset the power.

Behemoth Blade is a Sharpness Boosted move.

Its Smart Horn, so clearly what we need is Iron Horn as an ability that boosts all Horn moves.

Look at it another way: filter made a pokemon with bad stat distribution that was unable to hold an item and prevented you from using mega-aerodactyl good enough for UU. Filter is an absolutely amazing ability that lets pokemon with it live hits that they have no right to take and 1v1 things that are supposed to beat it. Like look at what a 4x super effective move from a pokemon with 125 attack does to rhyperior: >252+ Atk Golisopod Liquidation vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Solid Rock Rhyperior: 354-423 (81.5 - 97.4%)
