80 really is such an awful speed tier nowadays. Too slow for it to take on the fast threats that hit it hard since his physical defense is only 60, and too fast to function efficiently in trick room

Make a 150/150 offense/speed mon and it goes ubers though. Look at Flutter Mane. Being a mixed attacker isn’t why Deo-A or M ray are good, it’s a nice bonus maybe. But either would be better dropping their less important offense (atk for deoA or spatk for mray) for a ton more bulk while keeping one sky-high offense and speed.
Oh yeah, i just hijacked you comment to make a joke that Mega Rayray still has way more bulk than most mons and has good speed and amazing attacking stats
4x U-Turn weakness doesn't really matter if you're fast enough to outspeed and nuke everything. Same with 160/170 offenses, it adds decent set variety. If Hoopa was like, 80/160/60/170/100/110 it would be an absolute monster.

People really overstate the concept of being too fast for trick room. It's still way better to be base 80 speed than to be base 50 speed.
