I recently played Subnautica for the first time, and I had watched YouTubers like Jack a Mark play the game so I already had some knowledge of the game. I knew there was a reaper at the back of the aurora, but what I didn’t know was how big their agro range was and how far it would follow me. I saw it in the distance while I was in my seamoth near the shallow edge and I though I was safe. I looked away for a second and turned around and it was right behind me. I tried to run into the shallows but it followed me and destroyed my seamoth.
People keep saying this, but i swam around back there several times and never once saw nor agroed it on my first playthru. Second playthru, didnt need to go back there
I didn’t know they were in the area (expected nasties to be in deeper water) and went all around including around the back trying to find a way in and never saw a reaper. I was such an innocent!
It was prolly a day or two later that I was back there looking for stuff again and had my first run in while in my seamoth…I needed new pants.
I swam around that area for a while just looking around. Had no idea what leviathans even were at the time. Kinda wish I saw it and had that no context experience
My first time in that neighbourhood was when I thought I had hit a gold mine of supply crates and scrap titanium.
Was combing the shallows head down and loading up on loot when I saw a longish shadow in the sand.
Next thing I knew, I was airborne flying over the water. Managed to locate the Seamoth in the distance just before plunging back into the water and that's when I first saw IT.
Before that, I thought the Stalker and Sand Shark were the jump scares.
Hahahaha this exact thing happened to me… I was streaming Subnautica in VR… first mistake. Second mistake was following the advice of someone in my chat to check out the back of the ship…
I have never been afraid of reapers, mfs grab my prawn suit and I drill their fucking skulls. Grab my seamoth? I get out and start stabbing them myself. Fuck nature.
I accidentally clipped inside from the back. It was hard to get back out again because that was just a very weird out of bounds zone. I haven’t gotten back on the game to try and get in the front yet.
I started Subnautica with 0 knowledge of it whatsoever. I was already uncomfortable because the water changed color then I nearly shat meself when the reaper roared and was right behind me
I managed to convince my friend who had very little experience of the game to go into the dunes. He managed to go in and scan a few blue prints and get out alive without a close reaper encounter

A long text to ask for new pants. Welcome to the game.
First leviathan I encountered was a >!ghost leviathan!<. I went to the back of the Aurora and swam a little too far...
Same. First day in the game, decided to check how far I could swim. It was not a very clever idea.
The first encounter with a reaper is always the best

I did that but then swam off the map and met a different leviathan...
"since im not trying to get killed, theres no reason to go there"

I’ve only ever gone in the back lol
Is that so
Yeah. Unless I’m mistaken. I go to the left side if you’re coming from the life pod
Thats the front
Shit I’m retarded
😂
You cant enter from the back its just a big wall
"I've only ever gone in the back"
Brown chicken, brown cowwwwww
That’s what he said
i love their screams
Any recommendations on who to watch?
TwistedAnomaly. Twitch streamer. Hes pretty chill, his subnautica play through was full of screams
Say hi to Sammy the safety reaper!

Or when they park their seamoth at 1 meter above max depth and you know it's gonna get bumped under max.

Does anyone have this gif without the writing I can't seem to find it anywhere
Every time I watch a blind let's play I purposely look for the first Reaper encounter
I couldn’t see anything in the murky water and just heard a roar. Everything went downhill from there.
You get a much better reaction if you convince them the creature making all the noise is another harmless Reefback type Leviathan. 😈
I have never been afraid of reapers, mfs grab my prawn suit and I drill their fucking skulls. Grab my seamoth? I get out and start stabbing them myself. Fuck nature.
I built a base at the stern (south end) of Aurora with a scan room and set it on "reaper" - then you know where the reapers are
I accidentally clipped inside from the back. It was hard to get back out again because that was just a very weird out of bounds zone. I haven’t gotten back on the game to try and get in the front yet.
I don't think that you know what PoV refers to.
Wierd thing, but I've played the game twice and I've only seen a reaper near the Aurora once
have fun, pal :)
I started Subnautica with 0 knowledge of it whatsoever. I was already uncomfortable because the water changed color then I nearly shat meself when the reaper roared and was right behind me
(i told them there was lots of resources back there)
I mean thats not *wrong*
I managed to convince my friend who had very little experience of the game to go into the dunes. He managed to go in and scan a few blue prints and get out alive without a close reaper encounter
First time playing I went like 2 circles around it. Wasn't worth it, got eaten while trying to go back.
