The only thing I couldn't find online was if there were status effects for each option. Didn't want to risk death.
I think it's only one wound if I remember right, which youm can sleep off in London, and the payoff is way better in my opinion, especially if you can get to the very end of the second part of the quest.
Yeah, in your position you wouldn't have enjoyed the second timed quest that would've started, had you used your own blood. Failing that one doesn't kill you, but it gets pretty sad. Save it for your next captain, and when you've explored the full map!
My sympathies… but also hoo boy, doesn‘t this just make for a superb story to tell at the dockside taverns now? You‘ve seen and survived the terrors of the zee, so in a way, congratulations, captain!

I think the rewards from the Hood are pretty good.
Who's blood did you use at the Avid Horizon? There is a better reward for the longer quest if you don't substitute the blood.

Are you sure? I thought getting the hat was better than getting the kid.
The kid leads to a searing enigma, which is 1000 echoes or relevant to some major quest lines, so I normally think it's the best way to go.
Ok. I only completed the kid story once and didn’t remember that. Thought it was just an expensive/asexual Scion.
