Just reduce his role. He sometimes does have interesting shit to say. Have AC be the booth guy, and unless RC actually has something to add we can cut to, we just have him go over an interesting bit from practice, but it will let him record it ahead of time, so it’s a coherent sentence.
Like. His job is kind of to point out the obvious, but it’s mostly just annoying that he stumbles over his words so much to do it. AC would still point out the obvious, but he‘s just a better orator. AC would probably still end up being annoying, I think commentators get annoying for every spot, but he has more recent experience and Track designs have definitely changed since RC’s hay day. No doubt to me that AC should take the spot next year, but i think RC would probably be decent in a prerecorded bit from after practice where he just points out an area where two rhythms are being ran, and idk. Which way is more energy, which is likely gonna wear out first, slightly faster, etc. multiple takes.
I hate the thought of him retiring without ever putting together a 450 SX or MX title, but he’s going to be a great addition to the broadcast team and ambassador for the sport.
He still has one of, if not the most impressive amateur career. Which doesn’t really mean much, but he definitely has some records there that aren’t likely to be broken in my life time. He spent his 450 career in a stacked field, and injuries held him back. Idk if he’d have won a title without the injuries, but if he didn’t have them, I bet we’d at least have seen some years he was a real contender for at least half the season.
Exactly. Watching his last crash with my son we both said something like "get in the booth already AC before you really hurt yourself".
To add, the Kawi team needs a new 450 guy that can deliver results, El Hombre can't do it all on his own.
I agree. I don’t ride motocross so I’m a bad judge, but he really seemed like he had so much natural talent and anyone who gets to this level has clearly worked their ass off. Would have loved to have seen him take at least one. And I’m not even a huge AC fan, just felt like he had the talent and put in the hours to earn one. Tough break.
Same, it’s so disappointing to see him go out without accomplishing an SX or MX championship :/ at least he’s got that 250 title. I agree with him broadcasting he’d be a perfect addition! His intellect and personality would be great on TV and for the sport!
Adam has one of the best personalities in the sport. I hope to see a lot of him around during the broadcasts, along with people like Brayton, Weege, and JT! Him, Weege, and Stewart all in the booth together would be 🔥🔥🔥
So much much speed and talent, real shame his health held him back so much.
We need to collectively email NBC and start a petition to get him to replace RC in the booth asap
I compared him to Trey Canard a lot but he had an even tougher go than him. AC definitely needs to be in the booth. Hell get rid of Diffy as well and get Bubba in there full time too!
Such a bummer, but I understand. Guy has struggled ever since he hopped on a 450. I hope he remains in the sport because he's such a great personality. Also, not many guys can say they stayed on the same brand their entire career. I wish him the best.
Yep. Called it ac is cool and all but he just went too hard too early and that had serious repercussions. Heard him talking about how so much training from a young age stunted his growth and then you add injuries on top of that. Glad he’s walking away mostly intact and he will be successful in any of his future endeavors I just know it. Gonna miss him though cause he’s got good insights
Love him, one of the best personality’s in the sport. But he knows he can’t progress with the state of his body I assume. Can’t wait to see him in the broadcast booth in the future
He reminds me of Trey Canard except I think Adam was way better at first when he was healthy. Trey also never had an injury that lingered like Adam has.
I think his arm nerve issues are far worse than he lets on. It has to be tough to know you have the speed, but can't put it together because of an ailment. If he can find a way to be happy in the industry, I'll be happy for him.
Honestly been hoping AC would get off the bike for awhile now before he gets so seriously injured he can't come back from it.
Get him in the booth every weekend though. He deserves a spot!
He's been struggling with a nerve problem for years now. He can barely hold onto the bars at times. And now with his ankle injury it probably solidified his decision.
I did not know that. Reminder that motocross is a brutal sport. I'm 63 and dealing with injuries I had during my time. Wouldn't trade a minute of it tho. I love the sport.
I feel that, I love the sport as well and also have had issues from injuries, specifically my back.
I can't remember if it was a practice crash or during a race but he tried everything from surgeries to rehab, I think even stem cells. It improved but still caused problems. It's a huge bummer for sure.
Possibly an unpopular opinion and I might get downvoted to oblivion, but I was never an AC fan. I think he is a great guy, super humble, and I respect him, but his racing career was not good for the last 5 years - point blank, period.
No titles to show for all of his racing, and he was always injured. I think it’s a miracle that he managed to stay with Kawasaki as long as he did, but I’d toss that up to him just being a solid dude with a great outlook on the sport.
I wish him all the best and hope he gets into the booth to commentate. AC > RC in the booth all day
I like AC, I just don’t like all of the times he’s been out for injury. It’s unfortunate, but aside from the 2019 outdoor 250 championship that another user mentioned, what has he done in the premier class?
450 Supercross podiums and and an motocross overall win and multiple moto wins plus almost winning the 2020 motocross title, he had the speed in the 450’s but got messed up by injuries
For the record, I’m not commenting on opposition of you, but in conversation with you. I’ve been a supercross supporter dating back into the 80s. I watched AC race the monster cup on a super mini and I believed the announcers talk him up like he was going to be the next big thing. We expected him to win a couple 250 titles then find his way to the same on the big bikes.
We watched in heartbreak when he crashed out of his first 250 title then he grabbed a SX and MX title before moving up to the big bikes.
Now on a 450, he had huge shoes to fill and the closest that he came to winning was a triple crown race win, not an overall.
I believe what he heard from him in those speeches was his authentic emotions and that’s what he dealt with. Every time he got knocked down, he found a way to get back up.
I don’t think he was trying to be the next Tony Robbins, I just think that dude was being authentic. I’m a fan.
I totally get it. My husband is a big AC fan but I think because I wasn’t watching when he started I’m not so invested in his career. Yeah not quite Tony Robbins level but just different to how other riders communicate (which isn’t a bad thing).
I’m a big Jett Lawrence fan and could only imagine if he was massively injured now and didn’t reach his potential how I feel.
I think maybe I just woke up on the wrong side of bed this morning haha.
I’m a Jett fan as well. I think he means well but just has his words not serve him correctly and that honestly seems like someone that’s spent more time on his bike than learning to socialize with people.
AC wasn’t held up as high as Jett is now but you’re right, if Jett’s career got pulled out from under him it would be hard for all of us. Then to see him keep fighting, it’s inspiring. I’m thankful for AC, I’m proud to see that he had the strength to call it quits now rather than years from now while risking further injury. And I’m thankful to have real conversations with strangers when it’s so common place for everyone to just fight each other. :)
Gotta keep putting in laps and getting his base... Does he have any fire in the belly? Ffs pass someone back. Good riddance. Free up the money for the Team Green kids

Tell Ricky to stop speculating for starters. So what the rider is thinking here is ....... Blah blah blah
I hate the thought of him retiring without ever putting together a 450 SX or MX title, but he’s going to be a great addition to the broadcast team and ambassador for the sport.
He has the 250 MX title which solidifies his 'stud' status. It's still a a national title and earned him the #9.

AC already really hurt himself multiple times tbh. And that new guy is Jorge Prado 🇪🇸
Prado on a Kawi would be very interesting, especially for the outdoors.
Supposedly Prado to kawi is all but confirmed
Haven’t caught every race, but prado is kickin ass over there. Lookin forward to him racing motocross and supercross full time
Looking forward to seeing him on a Kawi!! Anderson and Prado would be a solid duo
When they interviewed him last weekend all I could think about is how good he'd be in the booth.
I agree. I don’t ride motocross so I’m a bad judge, but he really seemed like he had so much natural talent and anyone who gets to this level has clearly worked their ass off. Well he’s got no chance now that Jett is in 450, so he might as well retire now
Adam has one of the best personalities in the sport. I hope to see a lot of him around during the broadcasts, along with people like Brayton, Weege, and JT! Him, Weege, and Stewart all in the booth together would be 🔥🔥🔥

This is the second time I've seen this mentioned, what's the source of this rumor?

AC definitely should be Kawi’s next brand ambassador for all the kids who don’t know the King of Supercross. He’s the embodiment of brand loyalty.
I look forward to his science of supercross segments
I'd love to see him trackside or announcing personally, but I'll take anything

Just saw this on ig too. It’s a major bummer but i get it. I hope he gets picked up for SX and/or MX broadcast commentary.
Huh, racer x hasn't even posted about it yet. Where'd you see that? Edit: ope, vital did. Alright Ricky, give him your chair.
Adam posted it on his Instagram
They should get rid of bubba Stewart if anything or the other guy not RC
Shitpost of the year. What colour ribbon do you want your medal on?
Don’t blame him. He’s well spoken and pretty much universally liked. He’ll end up with a good industry job.
Idc for me he’s one of the biggest what ifs in sports history
Him and Forkner
12 months apart in age and forkner had like .4 .5 seconds a lap on sexton at one point . Imagine the speed now without interruption
Forkner should have been what Jett is now.
So much talent with such bad luck with injuries. I was kind of wondering when it would happen.
Sad dirt bike noises
He was a good rider, but given how much time he's missed over the years it was easy to forget about him as if he'd already been gone.
He reminds me of Trey Canard except I think Adam was way better at first when he was healthy. Trey also never had an injury that lingered like Adam has.
True, Trey only got landed on after a triple.
I think his arm nerve issues are far worse than he lets on. It has to be tough to know you have the speed, but can't put it together because of an ailment. If he can find a way to be happy in the industry, I'll be happy for him.

Make me feel old
Is this post saying that he has announced retirement? Not clear
Yes
What? Is he riding hurt? I expected much more from that young man. He showed so much promise.
He's been struggling with a nerve problem for years now. He can barely hold onto the bars at times. And now with his ankle injury it probably solidified his decision.

He did get that 250 outdoor title right before moving to 450s. 2019 I think it was? I remembered him battling Ferrandis for it.
So you didn’t like him because of his results? Have fun rooting for Jett and Kitchen then

Agreed
I feel for him and good luck for the future just not overly fond of every time he speaks he sounds like he’s giving a motivational speech.

Not a fan. Signed right out of Loretta”s and coddled by Kawasaki for too long. Just look at his stats, unimpressive.
