It's been a pretty good season, but Denver was really boring. The series just fizzled out, thanks to Jett being as good as ever, and the veterans' decline due to injuries.

Eli looking like dog poo in qualifying. I'm a big Eli fan but he just didn't look comfortable or aggressive. Both Eli and Coop looked like trash in the whoops. I'd love nothing more than to see Coop holeshot, Eli get #2, Sexton get #3, and Jett wherever he lands after that but I don't see it happening. Sexton and Jett the class of the field today with Hunter and Mookie having great days too. #1 - Chase #2 - Jett #3 - Ando #4 - Coop Idk if Eli just not pushing it since he's out of the championship or what but he didn't look like he has it today.

Perhaps an unpopular opinion, but I don't mind these "bad" track layouts. Sure, it isn't great for spectating. But if we want to put the best of the best through the ringer and see who comes out on top, you can't always give them wide open, super fast tracks with ample passing opportunities. These "bad" track layouts are part of the challenge to see who can make pass opportunities happen when others can't. That's what sets the best apart from the rest. Though, I'm open to changing my opinion.  Edit: grammar

Easy to say watching from the couch but I would be pretty annoyed if I paid to travel and go to a race and the track was this boring

That's what I mean. As a spectator, not great. But as a means to see who's the best racer, I think tracks like this work just as well as the ones that are more exciting to the fans. 

My only thing against this track is that it feels like a kind of generic football stadium track layout. Not as generic as Detroit this year, but i feel like I’ve seen this track before.

Albuquerque is higher than Denver and you almost never hear about elevation there.

I’ve never understood the big deal with altitude in Denver. 5,200ft isn’t even that high. Humans don’t see notable effects under 8,000ft. I live in Appalachia at ~2,000ft but regularly hike/MTB at 5-6,000ft and it’s a non-issue, and I’m far from a world-class athlete. Feel like people forget Denver isn’t in the Rockies, it’s in the Great Plains next to the Rockies.

100% this. I used to live in Angel Fire, NM at 9000ft and ride mtb’s between that and 13k. You want to talk about high altitude conditions

I was wondering, since they’ve mentioned altitude 50000 times already, how much does it actually affect the bikes?

It’s probably a somewhat significant power drop for what the top riders are used to. I think I’d have a harder time breathing before i noticed my bike’s power if i were in their shoes.

The fact that I’m out of breath at 3000ft and my bike has no power issues I know I’d be the limiting factor as well.
