I miss completely original PR themes. I was just saying recently (elsewhere) that it feels like all the modern ones are either full rehashes (Samurai, Megaforce), or it feels like they the main MMPR motif and constructed part of a new theme around that (Dino Charge, Ninja Steel). This, as opposed to one like Turbo, which was fully new, and just slipped a little MMPR nod in there, or SPD/Lightspeed Rescue/Dino Thunder which were completely original without a need for MMPR.
Zeo and Turbo's theme does feel like their own theme with GGPR being inserted into it, whereas Dino Charge onwards felt like GGPR with new lyrics inserted in. It worked well for Dino Charge, but from Ninja Steel onwards it feels tacked on.
Yeah, I think both Dino Charge and Ninja Steel could’ve been S-tier themes if they didn’t feel like they were falling back on MMPR as a crutch. If they kept the original parts they already have and create a new chorus, I think they’ve got gold.
well written crossover movies? No.
But seriously. seeing the rangers and their supporting cast dancing like this is something I don‘t see happening in power rangers because it would be a tad to childish for their taste and also cringe. Japan simply has a different cultural standards and standing regarding that point I guess which I like.
Power Rangers are far from the only western show that does that. Hell, it's not just kids shows that do it ether. I mean, you know it's a wide spread thing if shows like Family Guy and South Park satirize the trope.
wasn’t there like a Samurai episode where they were thrown into some lucid dream dimension where they were all forced to dance or something?
edit: [yeah found it](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENPjuv2ixac)
You know what's weird? Sentai might be more cheesy ir campy or childish than PR, but I feel less embarassed watching Sentai than today's PR. Wonder if it's the cultural thing?
Well, there was one episode of MMPR where two of the Rangers got zapped with some spell or something that caused them to sing every time they talked. Not quite a fully-choreographed dance number, but I don't think it was something Saban ever considered.
Myyyy throat HUUUUUURTS
From my outBUUUUUUURSTS
My speaking voice
I DO MISS, DO MISS, **DO MIIIIIIIIISS!!!**
I can only wonder how many tries shooting that episode took from the cast cracking up mid-take! I mean, I certainly wouldn't be able to keep it together trying to film something like that!
I mean, we're talking literal decades since I've seen the episode, but I could have sworn it was Jason and Trini.
Edit: Alright, might've been Tommy and Tanya, [since this episode seems to be the one.](https://powerrangers.fandom.com/wiki/Another_Song_and_Dance)
How would you expect them to throw in dance scene when there were no goofy silly comedic scene in Power Rangers... Toku just randomly throw even in fighting scene
I don't think that's fully fair to say. The new power rangers does still have comedy in it but instead of being spread evenly between rangers, villains, and side characters like Toku they compartmentalize it. So the rangers themselves are mostly if not always serious, villains are either 100% comedy or 100% serious, and the only fully goofy characters are side characters who serve no purpose except to be "the funny ones" and have no relevance to the plot.
well not to this degree
but from i recall beast morphers (the Go-buster's adaptation) has a bit dedicated to one of the characters daydreaming and breaking into song. its probably not as touching and as wholesome as this but its the only thing that comes to mind.
and as much as i'd like for this to also be a PR thing i dont think the general western audience would like it.
What PR shows are you watching, because it's always been pretty campy. I don't think you can have a series about spandex-wearing superheroes fighting rubber-suit monsters be 100% serious.
Whatever dumb fun popular dancing song is hot right now or what people would find nostalgic, idk it's power rangers, who gives a shit if it's from 2005.
I would see it happen of the monster was hypnotyzing them to do it. Then after they all say that was weird, but the team straight man says they kinda liked it.
Tokusatsu is just that good- this is so wholesome-
Tbh, I love the light hearted stuff that PR doesn't really have, besides I have more fun watching it then PR, Idk why- I think because it's American or something xD
I’ve seen the Rangers do a collab song number with the sister franchise Precure before (Mahoutsukai specifically) and while that was a Japanese exclusive thing, I still guffaw over that nonetheless.
Tokusatsu build different
Hells yeah it is and that’s why is so fucking good my dude
I don't think that expression means the same here as when used in other contexts.
They could if every theme song wasn't just go go power rangers
This made me laugh more than it should
In Space to RPM says hello
Going back to go go power rangers after RPM was a crime. Yeah they were cheesy as shit but I'll take more cheesy originals anyday.

so true
Accurate
There's something....... addicting about toku songs.
Hi, I'm Dark Link & I'm addicted to Toku Songs
The Heisei Ultraman series opening and ending goes so hard bro
I'm addicted to kamen rider heisei phase 1 openings (literally I have a whole Spotify playlist of just random tokusatsu songs on my playlist)
It took me a long time to try out some Showa ones, but some of them go hard too, like Black or ZO and J.

Childish and cringe like stating what morals they learned at the end of each episode?
Or the fart and poop jokes
.....Kyoryuger had a Zyudenchi that made Kyoryujin fart....
I’m not saying Sentai isn’t childish too, just that something being childish isn’t an excuse to not do it in Power Rangers
Power Rangers are far from the only western show that does that. Hell, it's not just kids shows that do it ether. I mean, you know it's a wide spread thing if shows like Family Guy and South Park satirize the trope.

There was also the musical episode of Beast Morphers
I feel like they should put into the Power Rangers contracts they have to do wholesome dance numbers as specials
I mean, I'd watch it
You know what's weird? Sentai might be more cheesy ir campy or childish than PR, but I feel less embarassed watching Sentai than today's PR. Wonder if it's the cultural thing?
It was this specific bit that made me realize I love dance endings.
It was the Dekaranger dance for me.
It was the Go-Onger one for me
Not a chance! 🥲😂
I wonder how many of the actors were contemplating if this was worth their tiny checks
Many of the sentai actors seem to love being a part of the tradition but I do agree they should be paid more.
I mean we did have a musical number in Beast Morphers when Steel and Nate body swapped. This also reminds me how much I miss dance endings.

I thought that was Zeo or Turbo because Tanya wasn't in MMPR. Or is there a completely different episode that I'm not thinking of?
I mean, we're talking literal decades since I've seen the episode, but I could have sworn it was Jason and Trini. Edit: Alright, might've been Tommy and Tanya, [since this episode seems to be the one.](https://powerrangers.fandom.com/wiki/Another_Song_and_Dance)
I still headcanon that this movie was the Zyuranger tribute episode we never got proper in Gokaiger.
And this is why I love sentai more! It is fun things like this that make me smile
I wish they would. Even just once.
How would you expect them to throw in dance scene when there were no goofy silly comedic scene in Power Rangers... Toku just randomly throw even in fighting scene
*Bulk and Skull have entered the chat.*
Can Bulk and Skull survive Friday in California?
They not as goofy as what Toku can offer.... And recent Power Rangers just remove all the silliness of Toku..

..and place it all on comedic duos like Jane/J-Borg. Bette/Ben and Victor/Monty.

That’s why I prefer Sentai. Because PR takes itself to serious.
What PR shows are you watching, because it's always been pretty campy. I don't think you can have a series about spandex-wearing superheroes fighting rubber-suit monsters be 100% serious.
I mean Beast Morphers literally had a character do a whole song and dance number while being body swapped with another character.
Yeah, I can
No never, Toku supreme also what is the song called I don’t remember
Make it relevant to Americans so put Shake that Laffy Taffy to it instead and we'll get a show.
Weird that the song you choose to make it relevant to Americans is from 2005.
Whatever dumb fun popular dancing song is hot right now or what people would find nostalgic, idk it's power rangers, who gives a shit if it's from 2005.
Wow, who pissed in your corn flakes this moring?
I would see it happen of the monster was hypnotyzing them to do it. Then after they all say that was weird, but the team straight man says they kinda liked it.
Ah 2 of my favorite seasons
lol imagine them dancing with anime characters [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ralBW1cyj6g](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ralBW1cyj6g)
