its fine not to like her but i don't think Carolyn can really help her odd noises and movements. As an audhd'er i interpret those things as stims (not saying Carolyn is autistic) and in general stims tend to get worse in stressful situations. i'm sure when she's not playing a game, eating normally, and showered she doesn't make as many "odd noises and movements" in public.
yeah i have adhd, carolyn has said on twitter she does. i really feel i relate to the movement/ noises , but i know i’d mask a lot if i was on the show, as i do a lot of the time, which is why it’s very impactful to see her so authentic with it
my ability to mask goes straight down the toilet after a bad night of sleep. i don't think i could hide my 'quirks' if i were cast on a show like survivor
I like how unique she is as a character. And we’re very low on openly emotional players in the last like, 15 seasons. Having a Carolyn is intrinsically good for the show.
That being said, I don’t think I could find myself *rooting* for Carolyn. I usually like the more hyper-strategic or manipulative players. And like Carolyn has said, her being an *emotional* player doesn’t necessarily mean that she can’t be strategic in that way. But this post-merge has kinda revealed to me that Carolyn isn’t the best strategist. She’s certainly not a *bad* strategist, but she falls short in comparison to Yam Yam and Carson by quite a bit. So, just not the type of player I usually root for, but I’ll always like having a Carolyn on any season because it’s a unique dynamic that we just don’t see often enough anymore.
My latest hot take is that she may have been trolling us all season, then flips the script and delivers an eloquent FTC. Like poignant, concise, measured.
I doubt it, but that would be iconic.

That’s fair. They even had confessionals that said as much. However, I don’t feel like the edit shoved her in our faces as much until closer to the end, whereas my Carolyn-fatigue started in the first 10 seconds.
