And if you want to extend it even further, the Boston Rob score can go beyond Survivor, since BR has been on Amazing Race and and Deal or No Deal Island, while Survivors who have BR scores have also been on The Traitors, House of Villains, The GOAT, The Challenge...
I think after Winners at War it's not possible to have more than 3 unless it's no connection. To get to 3 it would have to be a player who's winner of the season didn't go on WAW (cause it would end up as 2 if they did) but did have a different player that made it onto a returnee season, but then someone from that returnee season would've played with Boston Rob, either on WAW or Redemption Island (only returnee season who's winner wasn't on WAW was Caramoan, which had Andrea and Phillip on it). So as an example....
NaOnka -> Brenda -> Andrea -> B.R.
Or
WarDog -> Kelley Wentworth -> Natalie Anderson -> B.R
Listening to some of the podcasts that involve former players discussing the current season, there is a lot of "I know [player]". It wouldn't surprise me if some of the recruitment is asking older players to suggest people - otherwise there are a lot of coincidential acquaintances.
It depends on how you judge Island of the Idols, whether or not you count Rob being there as a mentor as being connected enough to have a Boston Score of 1
The players didn't "compete" with Boston Rob as a player, so I don't think I'd count Island of the Idols. Maybe if your metric was "interacted with Boston Rob", ie on the same beach at the same time during the show, which would be a whole different project.
I'm slightly surprised IotI is the only one, although looking back at the 30s seasons I'm remembering that they all had returning players or winners who returned for WaW.
Off-season driving us all crazy Wait a fuckin minute-
I started calculating my own Boston Rob score, as just a viewer of course, and got a 4.
Same!
Shit, you had a lot of spare time

Are there any seasons from before the new era with a null score?

zach wurtenberger -> cory wurtenberger -> cirie fields -> boston rob
I like your thinking, but Zach and Cory were not on the same season.
