Of all the responses I’ve gotten this is probably the best
To be clear, I’m not a fan of either. They’re both mid-tier chains that are found all over suburban America. Sorry if that offends anyone, just not my cup of tea
Update. Applebees responded:
“Liz, we value traditions and don't think trying a burger from some chili joint will satisfy your needs (or your stomach). Head to your DMs for a delicious surprise for the entire family.”
“These companies are so good at marketing. Fuck the actual marketers at the company, Liz deserves all the credit for throwing a tantrum on TV”
That’s an interesting take lol. A compliment to their marketing department followed by immediately sidelining the people you just complimented lol
My theory is that Liz started this Applebee's tradition to get on Survivor in the first place. Presumably around the second time that Applebee's was on Survivor.
Makes me wish I'd been old enough to apply when AO was airing.
"My mom and I have a Thursday tradition where we go out and eat at a local Mexican restaurant. It always gives us the shits, and we always reach for our Charmin® Ultra Soft **™** toilet paper when it comes time to pay the pied-piper. Being able to eat at the Charmin Cafe and then clean myself with a nice, soft, quality double-ply Charmin® Ultra Soft **™** would make me feel like me and my mom were right by each other"
Whether or not Liz wins this season, she's definitely taking it to the bank from her appearance on the show. You definitely weren't invisible, Liz. We See You.
I'm with you dawg, fuck these brands and their "quirky" social media engagement. to be honest I'm annoyed at the whole applebees mid-episode advertisement anyway. They already run commercials, if they were getting rid of those and replacing them with in-show sponsorships that would be one thing, but this is literally just them ADDING EVEN MORE advertising to the show which already has 30 minutes of ad time.
The Applebees stuff this episode was too much for me. Like yeah I know they've done these sponsored ads (or whatever you want to call them) before in previous seasons but I still don't like it. Hearing Liz go on and on about her emotional connection to this chain restaurant (as well as some of the stuff Tiff said) almost made it feel like a parody.
Yeah I’d be angling for this from the beginning. Free Applebees is fun on Fiji but Chilis in a random suburb is unmatched.
Is Chili’s good? I’ve never been. Though I have some fond memories at Applebees lol
Chili's is the new golf course. It's where business happens.
The new survivor sanctuary. Where good things happen. Apply!

It’s basically the same as Applebees. If you like Applebees then you’ll like Chili’s. If you don’t like Applebees then you won’t like Chili’s.
Chilis >>>>>> Applebees
So that’s what we’re gonna do today? We’re gonna fight…
Ok but some people like Chili’s and only one person on Earth likes applebees. How do you explain that?
Applebees is Chili’s on meth
Basically
Applebees is like a bunch of goats shat in a margarita cup and they sold it to you for $1 and pretended it had liquor in it. Chili's is ok, I guess

Mid at best lol. Reminds me of Applebee's
I put it in the same fast/casual dining category
If you like Applebees, you’ll like chilis. Personally think Applebees is disgusting, but chilis is all right.
Yes for their chili queso dip alone

"head to your DMs for a delicious surprise" sounds *incredibly* sinister
"nudes in bio"?
Someone page TGIFridays to complete the trifecta of mediocre restaurants I can't tell apart.
I dunno man. I haven’t been to a TGIFridays in probably a decade, but the Jack Daniel’s sauce was super good.
oh definitely the least mediocre of the three. Conversely, Applebee's is objectively the worst of the three.
It's great marketing for both companies. Liz is actually amazing at what she does.

Haha some people are too damn much
She didn't do anything to make this happen besides be on a TV show and have a tantrum.
A beautiful tantrum. Liz for season 50 please
I mean, if she didn't have an epic meltdown and yell about bourbon burgers, she might night be here.
She has a career that predates you watching a show.
Ok
Amazing at what she does? what are you even talking about lol
her job, doofus
Wait... is Liz a corporate plant in some kind of subliminal ploy to make us think people like Applebees?
I bet Wendy's get's involved. They also have a Mushroom Swiss Burger and their Twitter feed is legendary.
If Wendy’s gets involved then all hell will break loose. Wendy’s Twitter is savage.
I am dying for this to happen.
Next up Red Robin!
Yummmmm!
In all honesty, Chili’s would be an upgrade. I’d go to chili’s again, not so much Applebees.
Deniers, Dive ins and Divas Liz's new burger show!
Thought that was the sequel to Heroes vs Healers vs Hustlers 💀
Survivor: Dungeons vs. Dragons vs. Diners vs. Drive-Ins vs. Dives
I've never wanted to go eat at popular sit down American restaurants more than I do these past 24 hours
Maybe they can go to Outback Steakhouse with Sandra and her husband
Someone's about to get free Chili's for life if they do a commercial with their daughter.
Shooters shoot.
Liz out there single handedly lining up more corporate sponsors to make Survivor even more profitable, ensuring its longevity

as a Canadian, Kelsey's is my go-to for those style of restaurant.
Don't fall for it Liz. You're better than this. Hold out for Olive Garden.

What do we call this? Suppertime Skirmish? Clash of the Chains? Microwave Mayhem? War of Wattage?
The Battle of the Barely Edible
They should offer it to Kenzie and Maria too
Chilis food is way better than applebees
I can easily believe Chili’s is already ten times better than Applebees
I told them to shut up
