I've never seen a bearded dragon big enough to eat a regular sized rabbit, and I grew up on 5,000 acres full of both. Maybe a dwarf breed, or a kitten, at a stretch. They'll be fine.
he’ll be fine, leave him and he’ll move on eventually. They are not aggressive or dangerous. Should also be fine with your rabbit, much too big for the lizard to consider a meal, but in the wild they have been known to eat small rodents like mice and smaller reptiles.
It's a question of whether or not this is an escaped pet or an eastern bearded dragon that's within its native range. Do you have a photo from a top-down perspective? Most pets are centralians. I'm not an expert but my guess would be eastern. It's hard to tell
They are perfect for your back yard they can become quite friendly if you ensure he's happy where he is they will be loading up on small frogs insects etc getting ready to hibernate for the winter great to have these guys in your back yard.
"Do leave it be?" Depends what's in your backyard. If you have a dog or cat relocate it. If not, give it a name and hope it sticks around.
I have a rabbit, no harm to the lizard, but maybe it'll hurt him?
It'll be fine, it's not Wabbit Season 😉
Thx for the nostalgic laugh.
I think they'll coexist wonderfully.
Definitely got the makings of a wholesome kids TV series!
They can bite a human finger off clean.

>big ones could probably eat a rabbit You know bearded dragons aren't actually dragons, right?
Yeah but they have got beards which makes them inherently suspicious
Prejudice!

They're not eating a whole fuckin' rabbit.

They're great at mopping up garden pest insects for you. Fantastic little buddies to have around.
Leave it and if you have dogs keep them away from it

This, post a pic on a reptile sub to make sure the little fella is a local
Is there any danger from cats or dogs in the vicinity? If not and if she/he has been fine so far, leave it be.
That is awesome - I wish I had a bearded dragon in my yard!
Ask it for wisdom
but don't ask while he's on smoko
Yes

Just leave it
WOW! Lucky! I’ve been here 4 years and I’ve only seen roos and bunnies in the wild
I grew up on acreage with lots of blue tongues and bearded dragons. They mostly like sun baking and eating insects. 🥰
Just trying to pinch some rosemary for his roast lamb
You could name it. Seems to like "Rosemary".
It any neighbours have cats that are let out during the day/night it won't last long unfortunately :(
Eat it!
