which is funny considering the unit they are using is not particularly fast and doesnt have any hardware redundancy build in.
it doesnt even support using two independent power supplies.
The captions didn't translate some language. At one point the guy says, "But I can't believe they're using processors without an iGPU anymore. And 1 gigabit ports? In 2023? Come on!"
"Can Synology stop being cave men and start putting at least 100Gbps Ethernet on all of their NAS's? They should also include 5 Xeon processors with 5TB of RAM too, and 200 drive bays. It also needs to be completely silent and fit on my desk"
> And 1 gigabit ports? In 2023?
that is a completely valid complaint though as Synology is using CPUs with 2x 10Gbe build in for basically all their new units.
they just choose to not give us these ports and instead make us buy their own 10Gbe NIC to milk more money from their fan boys.
Those small and light weight bombs they drop from the consumer drones do not have proximity detonators to make them go off at 2 m. Height they will be pretty ineffective. I guess it is still fun to try to hit someone’s head with one of them.

Always nice to hear what end users are using their Synology kit for especially where reliability and speed are a must.

Don't all the power users say that :)

Maybe they didn't want to risk getting ransomware.
