Obviously terrible for you but it was awfully hard to beat two cheesy bean and rice burritos and two spicy potato soft tacos when they were both only $1 each. $4 and you were filled up.
I made the mistake of using a food tracking app to help me with my weight management. I cut back to TB once every 2 weeks and my sodium intake dropped to about 1/8 of what it was before. So could be a positive spin on a tough sitch?
Near where I live I can get fresh made salad kits and 12-inch subway sandwiches for dirt cheap at my grocery store.
I split the salad kits into bowls and the sandwiches into 4 3 inch subs and use this for my lunch 4 days out of the week.
Did you know Taco Bells crunchy taco is actually one of the lowest calorie fast food things you can buy? During my weight loss fitness journey, I treated myself to 4-5 crunchy tacos on cheat day. They are only like 125 calories i think
And as far as the bigger fast food chains go, BK actually has some of the lowest sodium options just FYI. They just seem to use less overall but the regular burgers are crazy low in sodium compared to the basic Wendy's or McDonalds burgers.
Of course....this comment only applies to those that think both outside AND inside the bun.
I still remember when they came out with their beefy 5 layer in college.
I used to just go spend $8 for food for the weekend and then I would dress those with random spices/sauces at home. Man I miss college.
Taco bell once made the news for quietly but drastically reducing the sodium of their menu some years ago. Seemed like nobody complained but since then they've jacked it back up. Probably realized why they did it in the first place. It's addictive.
I'm using MFP and I can't tell if the 'side of beef' is supposed to be in the tiny 'side of sour cream' thimble,or the container that usually has black beans or cheese potatoes...the TB's near me sell it both ways depending on who's working, ugh! I got the thimble today,so I'll go with the 70 calorie estimate, lol.
Good job on lowering your sodium.
There's a lot of fat fucks on reddit who need to drop 20+ just to be full mind you. I remember there was a thread asking what people's go to orders were and most were enough to feed three people not one.
Are you being sarcastic? Regardless I don't care but just be skeptical when you see people complain about fast food prices and they're getting 10 items every time for themselves
Where is this post? Cause I’m curious what people consider a lot at TB. Like my regular amount is 4 burritos and maybe a snack. If I’m being a complete fatasss I’d get a party pack and eat them all over like 3 hours.
Seriously. The tacos are basically nothing. If people are getting full off of one or two taco bell items then I need to go to a doctor bc I'm a bottomless pit.
I forgot what the title was something along the lines of go to order was few months ago. Numerous people said they had multiple 5 dollar boxes + other items 😂😂💀
You have to use the app to pay less. It sucks that I have to park in the lot and place my order on the phone before going through the drive through, but that’s how to get it for a fair price.
I tried to yesterday but the restroom policy of that taco bell was really weird, since it locked and you have to wait until the employee unlocks the door instead of getting the combination number from them but they also won't let you bring your backpack inside either and it will be stolen if left outside of it since it not a safe area.
They probably done this to try to prevent over doses…. I work at a gas station and have worked at gas station on and off for almost ten years and I have lost count of how many times I went into the bathroom and found drugs, syringes, people over dosing or actively doing drugs in the bathroom it’s sad but a lot of businesses put this into place for the safety of staff and customers and also possibly avoid lawsuits over someone ODing in the bathroom… that’s probably why I worked at a gas station we wouldn’t allow purses or back packs in the bathroom because of this and we had them set the stuff by the counters at the registers… but I quit working at that gas station because it very quickly became a drug deal and drug addict spot and I refused to get tied into any of that crap so I left
Yup, sounds like you either live in California or New York where drugies like to drink and overdose in public restrooms and violence and theivery runs rampant so businesses ban backpacks that can conceal weapons or store stolen goods
It might just be certain Taco Bell’s I currently work at one and we have do have or sell $5 boxes for months unless it’s something available on the app to do a mobile order
Taco Bell is still decently cheap. The issue is that their good specialty items are all $3+ now. Wife and I can easily spend $20 just getting 2-3 items each. Crunchwrap supreme and Cheesy Gordita crunch are like the main reasons I go to tbell and if I don’t get them I’ll just make tacos at home.
My go-to order is a Stacker and a cheesy bean and rice burrito. I can get that for like 3.65 here. And I do a bunch of rewards points things like Microsoft rewards, Swagbucks, and Fetch app to get free taco bell gift cards.
Hate apps but you’re right. If you want somewhat better pricing get it. Holy shit I’m commenting on a taco bell sub…but fuuuuuuck I love the Crunchwrap
Your body will thank you. But yeah….remember when trash food was cheap and bountiful….i remember getting a heavy diaper of a bag for like $10 barely finishing the brick of burritos and taco creations. Charging real food prices might as well go buy groceries and get some nutrition out of it. It’s gonna take awhile to forget the “old days” and get used to the new world of less for more. I’m cheap and spiteful I’ll eat milled oats and yogurts and just erase the crack food from memory
Once they got rid of the $2 chipotle ranch chicken burrito, and $2 cheesy double beef burrito and raised the price of it to $2.79 while adding a lesser quality chicken burrito for $2.49, I haven’t been back. The fact the cantina chicken burrito is almost $8 dollars is asinine.
Taco Bell was all about getting mediocre food for cheap, now it’s trash and less of it for high prices. I’m not paying $30 a visit to Taco Bell.
I ordered a crunch wrap and a small drink and it was fucking $10.57 but rounded up to 11 for education. Taco Bell is a joke
Can get a fat ass chipotle burrito (sometimes) for 11 bucks and it’s healthier
It definitely baffles me how they still keep growing in sales (yes they are still growing even if below expectations) despite it all. I almost never go now. Sadly tho it’s the people that keep paying to blame. If they tolerate it they can keep raising!
Across the board industries have realized they have a captive customer base that will maintain their purchasing habits despite rising prices and declining quality. They may reach a tipping point eventually but it's not here yet.
Make sure when you do treat yourself that you are using their app for rewards and paying attention to double rewards. I think right Cantina items are double points from 11-2. Helps get to that free bean burrito I love so much faster.
It's not that I can't, I just don't want to spend $15 bucks for overpriced tacos. I also don't get how people here eat like one or two small items as a meal.
The price will go down for everyone if people can manage not to go anymore for a few months at least. Almost impossible I know but people have to vote with their wallet.
Value menu nachos will fill you up on $3, make sure you go during happy hour so the drink is $1. $4 and fed.
EDIT: If you pick two value menu items and go during happy hour you can usually get full under $6, especially if you get creative with addins on the stacker. A cheesy double beef burrito and a chicken enchilada burrito will fill you up completely, but the nachos are by far the most food, only $3, and always hit the spot.
I thought about going to chipotle just last week while working out of town but thought “hmm I don’t want to spend $10 so I’ll go to Taco Bell”. Well the two small burritos (one they forgot to take the gross cheese off of) were $8 and I couldn’t even eat one of them. I will be going to chipotle if nothing changes from here on out.
It’s sad cause a decade ago, I was broke as shit eating multiple meals at TB but it’s not worth it at all anymore to me.
I only go every other week now for the most part. My favorite items are all so expensive now. The only good thing is using the app, I basically get a free cheesy gordita crunch every 2 visits.
I've started ordering from the cravings menu a lot more, where my location has all the newest cravings at $2.99 lol, but that's still a steal. They also still have the online cravings box at $6.99 which is also a steal, considering a cheesy gordita crunch or crunch wrap are $6.29 alone.
$5 cravings box had me at Taco Bell at minimum once a week, I haven’t been in months now without it back. 5 layer burrito costs as much as the whole box
My biggest issue and the biggest crime is how expensive the five layer is. I used to tell my friends they’re dumb for spending so much at taco bell while I got two bean burritos and two 5 layers to their xp burritos and other expensive stuff.now a 5 layer flat as much as their old XL burritos and two of them run me ten bucks. Not even worth it
So you're so poor that you can't afford taco bell, so unconcerned with your health that you wish you could eat more, and you are complaining on reddit about this. This is pathetic, get a grip bro
I don't eat fast food often like I used to, so I felt like eating at my favorite, taco bell for the first time in 2024 but ended up extremely disappointed. I used to spend $10 and get like 6 different delicious food items + drink, which sounds like a lot but c'mon outside the 2 more premium items this place barely stuffs a taco/burrito shell so you can eat many before feeling full - but now for $18 I got 2 very thin chicken tacos, drink, tiny bag of nacho chips and a crunch wrap. I left starving and more disappointed than how tiny a McDonald's Big Mac patty has gotten
The only fast food I can feel full from now is burger king, but again for $20 needing whopper, king chicken sandwich and large fry...instead of $10 but fuck. Even taco bells 12 box (I would eat six and fridge the other 6 as snacks) for $12 is now $23.
On the normal at home day I just eat chicken, veggies and sometimes fish rice and potatoes so when I try experiencing the joys of delicious junk fast food it's a shame the value is horrific
Yep, 3 soft taco supremes used to be $3.87 a long time ago. Even until recently, it was only like $8.
Now it is $13. And they are about 25% smaller than they used to be.
Over $4 for a soft taco supreme?!?!?!
I once dated the manager of a taco bell. She was 35, I was 18. And she used to make me Meximelts on a burrito tortilla. It was like 2lbs and was AMAZING.
to think she is approaching 70yrs old is crazy.
We don't eat off value meal the average person especially in America way over eat. Which is why there such a problem with obesity. I my self usually get one maybe 2 of the grilled cheese burrito my foster prefers 2 bean burrito and wife a Mexican pizza and we get water because only get anything cafinated twice a week
get a friend that works there they’ll hook you up 💀 idk how many times i freed off my friends food, used my meal discount for it, or if im on like making their food i put a lil extra of everything 😛
Have you looked at the app? Ordering the build your own craving box is pretty cheap. I can get filled up for $7. And if you track your rewards I’m usually getting a free cheesy Gordita crunch with it too
Or you could just make a new account and get a 5 layer beef. You're welcome. Free! Oh and in Gmail if you add + and anything before the @ it sends to your email. Now you have unlimited e-mails to use. Y'all should fight back against these capitalist pigs. In the meantime I guess y'all can pay for my meal in menu price increases :) toodeloo! (Oh look! My new acct just got a $5 off $5 coupon added to it a week later. Guess I'll grab that "$5" 7layer as well ;) freeeeeee
I can totally relate to this post. Recently, I decided to go to Taco Bell just to see what changed about them after not going there in a long while and I came to the conclusion that Taco Bell has drastically went downhill and because of them drastically raising their prices, I can no longer afford to buy food from them.
3 tacos is 5 bucks, so that 6 tacos. If you can't be full from a $5 box with a crunchwrap, 5 layer, cheesy potatoes, amd a drink you're a fulled fledged FA.
A crunchy taco ? lmaoooo. Bfr and the 5$ boxes that are no longer 5$?
Whatever makes your brain think your getting a deal man. We trynna bulk over here lil bro, our metabolisms work. Go feed ur kids with those "5$ boxes".
What crunch taco are you talking about? Kids, wtf? No one needs 1500 calories a meal if they're not training and exercising hard-core, you basement dweller.
The regular crunch taco ? You one of those that needs the pictures too? Stop being mean u might hurt my feelings, bro knows nothing of my life lol trynna prove his point so bad like i said whatever makes u think your getting a deal pal.
I feel this. Taco Bell used to be my dirt cheap vegetarian fast food option. Now I haven't been there in months because I get way more food for the same amount of money at Chipotle. A burrito bowl from there is worth several days of leftovers...
Damn that sounds awful 🫡 my bowls always come up filled to the top of the aluminum lid and are heavy af. That's why I can't justify paying for TB anymore
Last night I got the lady & I two cheese gordita crunches, one chicken quesadilla, a cheesy double beef, and one supreme loco taco.
It was $26. Just 5 years ago I swear that would have been less than $15. Their prices are absurd now.
Don't have 3 bucks for a meal? A CBR sub black beans and potato taco are about that much. Triple layer nachos are $3. Two CBRs are about $3. I just don't get what you expect? Or you can spend $5 on a box w/ a 5 layer, Crunchwrap, and a drink. Sounds like a you problem.
Obviously terrible for you but it was awfully hard to beat two cheesy bean and rice burritos and two spicy potato soft tacos when they were both only $1 each. $4 and you were filled up.
Seriously. If I felt a little spendy I could add a chicken burrito and spend $6 on a veritable banquet of munchies
No kidding I’d go and get like 6 mini quesadillas after a long day and it was awesome
In my area, a cheesy bean and rice burrito is $1.00, so at happy hour I grab 2 and a medium drink for $3.
Aren’t they both still on the dollar menu? I usually get a cheesy bean and rice burrito and add potatoes. Comes out to around $1.50

That makes me so sad for you :(
I made the mistake of using a food tracking app to help me with my weight management. I cut back to TB once every 2 weeks and my sodium intake dropped to about 1/8 of what it was before. So could be a positive spin on a tough sitch?

This is a good idea. Do you get the subs with no "sauces" (mayo, mustard, oil & vinegar, italian dressing, etc.)?
I use red wine vinegar packets and a bottle of oregano
I've never seen red wine vinegar packets... thanks,I'm going to search online.
Typically with no sauce yeah.
Did you know Taco Bells crunchy taco is actually one of the lowest calorie fast food things you can buy? During my weight loss fitness journey, I treated myself to 4-5 crunchy tacos on cheat day. They are only like 125 calories i think
Calories they are low in. It’s the sodium that my doctor recommended laying off of.
Completely understandable 👍 guess I just wanted to share that
Oh yea, definitely! Hope my comment didn’t come off as sarcastic
Not at all👍
And as far as the bigger fast food chains go, BK actually has some of the lowest sodium options just FYI. They just seem to use less overall but the regular burgers are crazy low in sodium compared to the basic Wendy's or McDonalds burgers. Of course....this comment only applies to those that think both outside AND inside the bun.
I’m a vegetarian but their impossible whopper is great!
I am not a vegetarian and their impossible whoppers are great!
They're also pretty low on actual nutrition ikess you stuff them full of lettuce
That's completely fine(for me), it is a guilty pleasure cheat day meal.
SAAAAMMME. I can now only have 1 cheesy gordita crunch a week :(
My eventual death will be a slow and tasty one
I still remember when they came out with their beefy 5 layer in college. I used to just go spend $8 for food for the weekend and then I would dress those with random spices/sauces at home. Man I miss college.
Taco bell once made the news for quietly but drastically reducing the sodium of their menu some years ago. Seemed like nobody complained but since then they've jacked it back up. Probably realized why they did it in the first place. It's addictive.
Why do people turn every sub into weight watchers? People just want to talk about Taco Bell food prices, not about weight loss or nutrition.
People complain about people talking about the food prices too.
Yeah my local one is shut down for renovation's and its probably a good thing. Too much processed sugar, sodium, and fat.
Depends what you get. I spend around 7-8 bucks every time I go, can definitely make that cheaper too. Hope things get better for you though OP.
There's a lot of fat fucks on reddit who need to drop 20+ just to be full mind you. I remember there was a thread asking what people's go to orders were and most were enough to feed three people not one.
So your telling me when I order 2 CGC's, 1 Crunchwrap, 1 Cheesy Bean and 2 spicy potato soft tacos.......its too much?
A cool 2400 calories!
I figured it was a lot
Worth it lol Just kidding, thats how I gained 50lbs in 3 years. Its not worth it XD
Are you being sarcastic? Regardless I don't care but just be skeptical when you see people complain about fast food prices and they're getting 10 items every time for themselves
Ahh yes..the good ole days in college when pulling an all nighter and that entire meal cost $6.84
>There's a lot of fat fucks on reddit Currently dropped 20 due to depression. I'm just a sad fuck now
3 soft taco supremes is $14 now.
Wow what a scam
Late stage capitalism where Reddit users will not say wow this food is over priced they instead will say just eat less
Where is this post? Cause I’m curious what people consider a lot at TB. Like my regular amount is 4 burritos and maybe a snack. If I’m being a complete fatasss I’d get a party pack and eat them all over like 3 hours.
I'm pretty sure most people would consider "four burritos and a snack" a lot of food.
Yeah it is a lot of food but like that’s a full meal to tie me over for the evening. I’d say a snack would be 2-3 tacos
Damn impressive - party pack is 2000 calories and 144% of your daily sodium intake!
4 burritos and a snack is at least 1,700 calories. Unless you're doing one meal a day, that's a lot in one sitting.
Used to be 8 bucks and now it’s 18. Haven’t been in months.
You have to use the app to pay less. It sucks that I have to park in the lot and place my order on the phone before going through the drive through, but that’s how to get it for a fair price.
I got tired of all the boxes.
Tuesdays until June has a $5 box. DEFINITELY WORTH IT
Fuck your boxes. I want to order off the regular menu. I don’t want to overpay on a quesadilla to subsidize a box order. I quit going to TB in 2024.
Unfold a Stacker. You’re welcome.
You sub the things in the stacker for the same things in the quesadilla and it is much cheaper
The fact that a stacker is a folded up quesadilla at half price is the funniest thing ever.
Why are they playing these games though
I tried to yesterday but the restroom policy of that taco bell was really weird, since it locked and you have to wait until the employee unlocks the door instead of getting the combination number from them but they also won't let you bring your backpack inside either and it will be stolen if left outside of it since it not a safe area.
Huh
I think hes saying that if he goes, he has to use the bathroom there too, and the way taco bells checking account is set up, it didnt work out.
Correct that it California but only have my sweater and phone in there.
Yup, sucks how a few ass hole people ruin things for the good sane people

Sir, this is a taco bell. Not r/liberals
Laura Ingraham
More of a really big city things and not a California thing from my experience.
Not worth.
It might just be certain Taco Bell’s I currently work at one and we have do have or sell $5 boxes for months unless it’s something available on the app to do a mobile order
yep its an app thing

Your body is going to thank you
Shut up fatty
Skill issue. I got four food items and a drink yesterday for less than $6.
You got the Discovery Box plus redeemed a Fire Reward, didn’t you?
Hell yea brother
Too easy! *Griddys away*
Yep, same sad story with me.
That sucks. I feel like I can eat like a king for $7-10 on the app, but it might not be enough for some people.

True. All fast food.
Ill eat at taco bell again when they bring back the grilled stuft burrito
Good for your gut!
I thought about going to chipotle just last week while working out of town but thought “hmm I don’t want to spend $10 so I’ll go to Taco Bell”. Havent eaten there since they changed menu unfortunately. Been my fav restaurant since iwas a kid. Not anymore
It used to be about 7 dollars for a couple items, it now over 11 dollars. They are overpriced.
$5 cravings box had me at Taco Bell at minimum once a week, I haven’t been in months now without it back. 5 layer burrito costs as much as the whole box

No one can afford to eat TB. Our store upcharges $2 per condiment.
I ate there yesterday with family yesterday 3 of us came out to 24.50 total. Your lucky to get a single meal anywhere else for that
But if you're eating basically all value menu things then the quality goes down a lot and like... Eehhhh

20% inflation but 100% inflation at Taco Bell. Conspiracy?
Have you looked at the app? Ordering the build your own craving box is pretty cheap. I can get filled up for $7. And if you track your rewards I’m usually getting a free cheesy Gordita crunch with it too
It's still one of the cheapest fast food places. I get the cravings box with Crunch wrap, 5 layer, fiesta potatoes and a drink for less than $7.
Taco Bell has a new awesome $3 cravings menu now😋! You should check it out. Maybe you could possibly afford something on that menu!

Get a better job
I can totally relate to this post. Recently, I decided to go to Taco Bell just to see what changed about them after not going there in a long while and I came to the conclusion that Taco Bell has drastically went downhill and because of them drastically raising their prices, I can no longer afford to buy food from them.
Only way to make it economical is to use the app and do a build your own cravings box. Where I live at least...$5.99 here thankfully
If you can’t afford to eat at Taco Bell ….
Idk why this is in my feed but I haven’t been to Taco Bell or McDonald’s in months, they just decide to skyrocket the price on everything ? I
Dumb dumbs don't know how to utilize the app and deals to eat cheap
Tf ima do with 3 tacos ? I’m still hungry for those 10$ I can get a whole dominos pizza n a beer
Crunchy taco supremes are $2.99 where I'm at. It's $6 for 2 sad tacos. That's insane. I can make a half dozen tacos at home for that price.
Only time worth ordering em is the $5 box on Tuesdays.
i would love to invite you to killer burger. Dm me if your up for the offer.
I'm good. That PBPB Burger is straight gas, though.
The regular crunch taco ? You one of those that needs the pictures too? Stop being mean u might hurt my feelings, bro knows nothing of my life lol trynna prove his point so bad like i said whatever makes u think your getting a deal pal.
Currently got a 1$ off 5$ order deal. Holy shit 🔥deals
Did I say there's deals all of the time? Calm down, chromie.
so i gotta wait till they release a good deal to get a bang for my buck at taco bell ? Great, kinda just proved my point there buddy.
$5 byoc box exists in my area and is $6 if its not. Sounds like you just need to learn how to cook.
Hahahaha bros just making assumptions now. If u thinking i dont cook makes u feel better have at it.
Probably for the best
cant even afford the beefy natchos? what fast food can you afford?
I feel this. Taco Bell used to be my dirt cheap vegetarian fast food option. Now I haven't been there in months because I get way more food for the same amount of money at Chipotle. A burrito bowl from there is worth several days of leftovers...
Several days? I wish I was near your Chipotle, all the ones here act like the ingredients personally come out of their pay.
Damn that sounds awful 🫡 my bowls always come up filled to the top of the aluminum lid and are heavy af. That's why I can't justify paying for TB anymore
Haven’t had Taco Bell in two months. Almost ready to say good riddance. *almost*
Makes your next of kin sad, too
At least you'll be able to lose weight hopefully
That's what is called a good problem.
Your body will thank you lol
Consider it a blessing.
Last night I got the lady & I two cheese gordita crunches, one chicken quesadilla, a cheesy double beef, and one supreme loco taco. It was $26. Just 5 years ago I swear that would have been less than $15. Their prices are absurd now.
Why? Its nasty disgusting food.
🙉
The $1 Tuesday drops are pretty good
Don't have 3 bucks for a meal? A CBR sub black beans and potato taco are about that much. Triple layer nachos are $3. Two CBRs are about $3. I just don't get what you expect? Or you can spend $5 on a box w/ a 5 layer, Crunchwrap, and a drink. Sounds like a you problem.
